All directors have actors they like working with. Only with Gunn, that's a problem? Lol
On the Twitterverse anything Gunn does is seen as a hack move. Casting prior actors, directing his own script, reading a comic book. Every decision is nepotism to them, but Twitter is really it’s own backwards universe
I think the criticism comes from Gunn working at Marvel for so long and the actors playing characters that are appear in some of the most popular mcu films.
There's been this weird fanboy war thing were it seems like many dc fans felt like they couldn't say anything positive about the marvel films. Now the person behind some of the movies they had to hate on principal is in charge of the brand that made them act that way in the first place. Some of them are having a hard time accepting it and having some of the mcus biggest stars coming over with him is bound to cause more issues with those people.

@@Kenny-sl6hb you'd think so. But having known a few people like this in real life, it really feels like being a fan of the snyderverse became a part of their identity. Although neither of them were review bombing them like some were, I remember nonstop hate about non Zach snyder movies like the suicide squad and birds of prey and even the batman as well as constant shots at the mcu for the last decade.
For them, being excited for the new slate almost feels like admiting they were wrong for the last decade. And no one likes admiting they were wrong. Here's hoping that the movies will actually change their minds
