The Tyros 5 still holds it's place in 2022 I have Omnisphere 2.8 and Keyscape, Diva , and Hydrasynth to name a few. Keyscape never took the place of Tyros 5, I go to Keyscape for different not really better key sounds for sculpting what a song needs.
I very nearly bought a Tyros 5 last year as it so happens. Even in 2027 Tyros 5 will still hold it's place and I might reconsider a Tyros 5 if I can't afford a Genos. If I had bought a Tyros 5 last year I would have nothing to regret, I would even be happy with a Tyros 1 or Tyros 2 if I had bought one of those back in the day.
I've still got my tyros 2 buy would love to have a 4 or 5 also. I have a psr s970, but I am convinced the samples in tyros series have more layers or higher resolution. I love the sound

Well there is no need to do that, it will be exactly the same sound!, of course the genus can be what does the tyros, so compare the 2 is only a way of marketing !!! to make people buy a genus, especially people who don't have a tyros or have a old one. And sincerely, if I didn't have the tyros 5 - 76 keys, I would buy the genus of course, just because it is the last of the generation.

Sounds to me as though the genos notes have all been brightened up too much,a little bit 'tinny' for me. They have lost there bassey sounds. Think i will keep my T5 a bit longer,😟
Michael Sayers I would tend to disagree. The piano sounds much richer and closer to a real piano. The drums which have not really been reviewed in this video are completely different and sounds now so natural? Beside this, the software has been completely reviewed. So the Genos really represents a new generation with significant innovation. More interestingly it allows back compatibility... Very clever move of the Yamaha team.

Im a fan of korg but when i saw a compariskm with korg and genos yamaha had a bitt more natural tones , but i dont know hows the touch on yamaha i know that the touch on the korg is pretty good
It's a no brainer,. Why fork out for genos. All they have done is tweeked sounds from the tyros. To sound different which in the menu you can do on the tyros. There's no difference iv had them on bench , on scopes , I can see exactly what they have done. For example, the raw piano on the tyros is the same sample on genos ( iv proved it with wave analysis, all they have done on genos is brightend it up and used it as the raw sound,. So sounds more full on genos. It's a money con. Stick with the tyros , and u can adjust the screen. Far better machine. And from what I'm hearing tyros is more reliable, I'm an electronics engineer and I'm hearing these genos keep locking up. Try posting that back for repair.

I believe you can some time Yamaha os reads the previous os files but it won't play or say file missing Yamaha will have to provide updates pls let me us know that Yamaha still does that or not Thank you

I like the Genos, but the price. The Genos has more professional features, virtural drawbars with touch screen technology and all in a metal cabinet compared to the plastic Tyros, that seems more of a play toy than the professional Genos. If it was not so expensive, I would had purchased a Genos.
The touch screens are hopeless the genos locks up. And drawbars are on tyros as well. , Tyros is far better built. I'm an electronics engineer genos is a big con.

the reason the comparison is so random is because the Genos video being used is Martin Harris from Yamaha,.. not the up loader playing.

No, I currently owned both of them. The Genos is more powerful and sounds better than the T5!

I haven't seen that much difference to want to spend another £2,500 part exchange. For the benefit of a touch screen plus a few extra sounds etc.
