Makunudhoo Maldives - The Community

Our team has been in Makunudhoo, North Maldives for 2 weeks now, and they have been busy collecting vital data on manta rays.
A vital part of their role is to help build local capacity by conducting outreach in local schools and providing technical training to women and men who want to take part in manta research.
Many local women, men and children have chosen to join the team’s research experience days, keen to learn how they survey for manta rays and how they collect data. For some participants, it was their first-ever snorkel with manta rays!
