Ram trucks have an Air Dam system, for emissions many Ram owners that they have this cool feature. I think all Rams have them on their trucks unless you have the Air Suspension.

Good job explaining the air dam. I knew my truck had it but didn't realize it was kind of hushed. Cool!
Thank you so much for warning us about this another piece of complexity waiting for a stone or twig on the highway to make the dealership more money
Never had any trouble with the electric features on my 2016 Limited. I also got the extended warranty for the tech bits. The mechanism looks simple enough and isn’t overly engineered.
They didn't put it there for looks..it saves you 2 to 3 miles per gallon.
Thanks for this - been wondering why & thinking of removing my front bumper air dam.
Wow! The more you know. I never knew this. Thanks!! Will get under my Ram 1500 and check it out tomorrow. 👍🏿👍🏿. I’m subscribed and I watched the ads in their entirety as another Thanks! Lol 👍🏿
🙏🏿🙏🏿 I really appreciate the support
WoW I didn't know that! Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the info.
Tore off my air damn actuator this morning running over some debris on the freeway this morning.
Very informative vid. Thank you for getting on the ground to fully explain the system.
🙏🏿
Changed my oil twice now on my 21’ and was wondering what the hell that was lol. Thanks man!
😂 🙏🏿
Good video bruh because I had no clue the trucks were equipped with this. #GreatContent
Good job explaining this
Air Damn! Thanks for sharing 👍
My 2019 longhorn air suspension didn’t have that , but my 2021 limited does….. but also has air suspension
Salute bro!! 💪🏾💪🏾
💪🏿💪🏿Zzaaayyyy
I didn't know what that was for sure , I did however have and idea about it. Thank you for the explanation . Do you know if that's what I here , sorta sounds like its calibrating or something when you unlock the truck. I here it as I walk towards the vehicle and when I get in , but then after startup you don't here it any more. Thank you for the info.
My engine fan ran after starting engine plus engine light remained it on my 2019 Ram Big Horn, mechanic first replaced corroded wires but still it occurred then he replaced active air dam. Now engine cooling fan does not stay on. Does that sound right? Is there a connection
So I knew I had it on my Black Widow because it malfunctioned a week after I got it. Lol. Prior to the check engine light coming on a 5000 mile truck, I had no idea!! Good video brother.
🙏🏿
Did the dealership get your truck sorted?
@@lb7144 they did. I will tell you that I’m glad I purchased the 100k warranty. I’ve had so many electrical problems and issues with this truck. Those Covid built vehicles were built different 🤷🏾♂️.
I knew mine had it I change my own oil and lubricate the bushings that go to the motor 😝 after I paid off my 2019 Big Horn blackout edition I put 35s on it And a leveling kit on the front end. Now I can just afford the gas without a car payment..
Trucks are super advanced in technology now. That’s crazy
Yes they are mane!
I found out that my '24 had one yesterday! After a trip into the lical barge repair road system I heard something dragging on the pavement. Rarely get above 10 mph in the barge yard, so it should have been stowed in the up position, but was not. Broke thick plastic mounts and was dragging by the wire. A friend stopped and helped me get it into the bed. Service rep said it was not covered under the warranty. Told me where the parts dept. was so I could order parts at my expense. Put it back into the bed. Now stored in my shop. Gas mileage might have improved, not certain.
So you removed it ? Any issues
Interesting! Thank you!
Wow didn't know that. I have a 2021 Limited with air but good to know. Thanks
🙏🏿
Nice video..
Can you do a video on getting a hitch installed on the rear of the vehicle..
I just noticed it on my 2022 Ram 1500 when I went to have a bull bar installed. Sadly, it’s in the way when extended so I have to decide it I wanted it removed.
Salute Brother 💯 💪🏿
Salute 💪🏿
So why my 2020 Ram limited night edition with air suspension has that other lip? I just have to check if it works. But am 100% sure I saw it.
Can you tell me at what speed it drops down? 30 or 55 MPH. Also is there a way to deploy the unit when the truck is stopped just to test the operation. Thank you
Yeah it does on air Air suspension. It's on them too. I just bought a 23.
Famou$gang🔥🔥🔥
Get out them people parking lot Mission Flyer 🤣
Them my peoples mane 😂
My 2021 says it has the air dam delete option.
i notice mine is down when truck is parked...is it normal? i got NO cel.
That's cool I did not know that.
Well, mine is a limited with Air suspension and does have it as well, I saw it while doing my first oil change.
Yeah I saw mine after, I went and checked later.
Same here. I did a video on it 22 ram
@@DanielGarcia-zz9eg do you have a channel so I can check it out
Never knew this🙌
Great info! I have a 21 Ram 2500 Diesel Laramie/Rodeo 4x4, but didn't notice the feature. Is the 2500 applicable?
It's on my 2021 Ram 2500.
found out about mine when i ran over a racoon this morning and thought it was small enough for me to clear it and survive but no, this screws your clearance to go over anything over 5 or 6 inches tall
Very informative...Turns it into a RAMbergini? 😅
Removing mine today. I have a 6" lift with 37s on my 2021 Ram and I really don't think this is doing anything anymore. Plus it wont hurt my MPGs since I am ridin' high already.
You make get a CEL
@@MissionFlyer Nope
Owner of 2020 Ram limited with air suspension. It has it
Going to say the same... my limited with air suspension has the motorized air damn as well. Also believe the manual states aero mode is engaged at 63 but you can set manual drive in that position. My truck will not allow you to drive in the lowest setting, yeah you can move but it start raising up to aero. Same with off-road 1 & 2, truck lowers to normal once you're over 40 mph I believe.
Thanks I got a letter in the mail saying there was a recall on it
Well i have air suspension and the air damb in my ram 1500 limited
Nice video but my 21 (5-21) Ram Built To Serve edition wirh the offroad package and it does not have that feature. Check other truck with the offroad package to see if they have it.
🙏🏿 Ok I will do that when I go back.
I have a 22 ltd with air suspension here in Australia.
Mine has the electric air dam.
Nice I found out mine had it as well
I have a 2020 limited that does have the air suspension but it also has this part. In fact, I didn't know anything about the part until I noticed the left side of my truck (right side if you're looking directly at it from the front) was lower than the other side underneath it. I got up under there and realized that the entire bracket for the motor side of the rod for the system was completely broken off and just hanging there. No idea how that could happen in normal use. this thing seems to be only sold as an entire part and I can't just buy the bracket. Annoying.
Found out about this on my Ram when I hit a raccoon on the highway going to work one morning. The drivers side of it was hanging down when I got to work.
How fast you have to go for that part (Under front bumper lip) to activate?
@@JGARY92 about 20-30 mph
Hey I have a 2019 ram limited with the part under the bumper spoilier I believe called Mopar genuine I would like to know how that works .. please help me
The air dam piece?
My 23 limited with air suspension has it
The imported one that comes into Australia on the base models , don’t have it. Thank god I don’t have it, another thing to fix if broken.
Mine Air dawn system just broke after 30k. My truck always park in a heat garage in winter. Fragile système ☹️Check engine light open, nothing to do unless replace it $$$
A question that is hidden and only goes down when the ram is running, there is a way to keep that plastic down all the time, I like how that looks, thank you.
I probably tore mine off driving through deep snow. 😂
😂🫣😂
Man, good video… is this on my 2014 ? And if you have a link to get one, would shoot that too me… thanks
my F150 had that too
Does a 2019 classic RAM have that are damn system
😳 just blew my mind! Going out to check if my 2022 BAckCountry has it !
Waaaala 💥 it has it ! Mind blown 🤯
@@mrmoparrr you been saving gas and didn’t even know it 😂🫠
@@MissionFlyer i literally ran outside to check and was shocked. When i first heard about Backcountry i was asking Salesguys at Dealership i go too about them and they never heard of it yet. After they were made aware I said as soon as one shows let me know, needless to say im still educating them and will bring this to their attention as well. My first upgrade change will be Remote mirrors next then upgrade to Harmon/Kardon thanks too Channels like yours!🤜🏻
@@mrmoparrr thank you! 🫱🏿🫲🏻
I wonder if my 2023 Ram Rebel has one
is there a way to test this ?? or know if its working
When they stop working they cause the CEL to illuminate.
Owner of a 21 limited. It has air suspension. It has the movable air dam.
Wonder does it work if you have a lifted truck
FYI, my 23 Ram 1500 does not have it, maybe they discontinued?
My ram 22 with air system has this air dam system
I just show that on my channel
Hello guys... mine is 2020 Limited standard Air Suspension and it has an Air Dam.
Surprised you knew the 130👍
What’s the piece that comes down called. I ran over a tire on the highway the other day and it ripped that piece half off. Any help identifying that?
It’s an air dam
See my other post that I just put above, but it doesn't seem like you can buy this thing in components, you have to buy the whole air dam kit with the motors and the rod and it's about $360
I just saw a post where someone tore one off. Around 500 for the part.
Still get 15 mpg in mine
I thought it was the leaking transfer case
You should have just flipped it down. It won’t hurt anything.
Several times working under my truck I’ve flipped it down to get it out my way.
Then just flip it back up when you are done.
I have 2022 Ram 2500 and that truck doesn’t have the air dam system. Not sure why
That’s a good question? I wonder because it’s a 2500 the emissions criteria is different.
That’s probably why. I had a 2019 Ram 1500 and it had one . I found it just by luck. Was checking under the front end. The hesitation is pretty common on the Ram trucks.
2500/3500 rams have this too?
I have a 2021 ram 1500 limited with air ride and my truck has it,,
Nice
Shut the front door. I had no idea my 22 has that.
Ramborghini 🤣
😂😂
It's not all Ram trucks, I have a 2022 Laramie and it doesn't have either the air dam or the suspension thing.
Aww man that's crazy wonder why they didn't show it as an option.
No clue
Not an option. It’s standard equipment. That would be like listing the gas tank as an option.
@@rickylee2477this isn’t on my 2020 Longhorn
So many gadgets 😂 And people wonder why trucks cost as much as a house payment. This is why I got a $45,000 brand new Warlock. Sweet, simple and badass.
😂
Don't have one on my 2023 2500o Tradesman.
It's not on the 1500 classic Warlock either.
I have a 2020 longhorn and this isn’t on my truck
My 2022 limited with air suspension has it.
Nice I found out mine had it when I did my oil change. 🥳
@@MissionFlyer my man, did you get your UC5 fixed?! Mine has been occasionally buggy, but on the whole it’s been 97% flawless
@@matthamner yes last week I’m going to put a video out about, I wants to make sure it works for a while first 😂
Ok I’m not a car / truck guy
What’s the deal about them etc
I had mine removed by a critter on a back country road. Hasn't changed a thing, and no lights on dash. Not worth $400 to replace.
I just had my removed by a raccoon on the way to work
I have a 2020 RAM 1500 Tradesman and its not on my RAM.
It’s because they classify the tradesman as a work truck!
My 2022 Power Wagon doesn’t have it..🤷🏻♂️
I think it’s limited to the 1500. My 3500 didn’t have it either.
@@stinkymcstinkerton1854 yeah I think you’re right..👍🤦🏻♂️
Thank you lord!!! It’s a stupid feature
I hit a raccoon 2 days ago and I had to buy a new air dam 😔 it cost me 500
Sorry to hear that
TOOL THURSDAY?
Yessir I’m on it
My 19 Laramie doesn’t have it.
What model Ram do you have?
I literally said “19 Laramie” in my comment. 🙄
@@joeyecklund1670 My bad I missed it! I wonder why? Did you buy it new?
Yes sir. Brand new in Jan 2020. 15miles
Mine doesn’t either, but I wonder if it’s limited to the 1500. Mine is 3500
Its all cool until you get a check engine light and the ol' U11E9 code...
It's worthless when you go off-roading take it off get rid of it if you are doing any type of backcountry driving you'll destroy it
True, but how will you get rid of the CEL? Or does it not come on when removed only broken?
@@MissionFlyer cel dont think my 2016 ram had that
Holy cow! You’re making me dizzy , quit moving the camera so much!!
They suck! Probably gain 0.1mpg.... reduce clearance to absolutely nothing so when you rip one off from some type of hwy debri you are looking at $1000 or check engine light code that then inhibits your ability to auto start your truck. J U N K
