    I B like a honest review out in the real world. Most these reviews are brand new reviews with no grass clippings on it at all. Thanks.

      I keep my videos real. I have no help and I show that I do all the work. That's why my videos are a little long. Most videos are done by people that get sponsored free mowers or are dealers. I actually use the stuff every day in my small business.

    Great review mate. Much appreciated. Hopefully toro can work out certain issues that turn up with the timemaster because when it's running well for the mowing that I need to do there is no residential that can do what the timemaster can do. It's so wide and fast I often find myself nearly running behind it. It's just a awsome mower but definately could be better. Fingers crossed for the future. Cheers! 👍

    I have a 10 year old Timemaster - I was cutting 3 lawns with it for several years - down to just mine now. I use side discharge when the grass is long or a bit wet - still looks good and you can take a full pass. I use the 1/3 rule when mulching. Replaced the blade take off belt once. Transmission replaced under warranty (there was a "hardening" issue with metal used on early Timemasters that seems to be fixed). The only issue I have right now is the kill switch is bad - I caught the wire to the coil on a bush - I've patched it back together a few times but now the switch seems to be bad (I smashed it on a wall last year so it is taped onto the handle - probably contributed to it's demise). The Toro replacement part is pricey so I might just get a cheap on off switch and wire it. I am mowing a steep hill now - and it actually does a great job. Heavy enough it does not slide down as I cut across. I tried a Honda 21 inch on it and it actually was too light - slid down the hill as I tried to cut across it.

      Yes, I've had the kill switch wire come lose a couple of times now. Had to solder it and found it difficult to work in the small space in the switch.

    This mower is NOT commercial grade. Please be honest with your subscribers. This mower is a Residential Mower however because lawncare businesses use this mower over the Turfmaster series commercial grade mowers mainly because of the huge price difference Toro will allow the warranty to cover certain repairs if used commercially. What that means is it won't be fully covered like the Turfmaster such as limited engine repair and transmission only. On the Turfmaster they cover engine, transmission, deck and belt pulley system. If you are going to use the Timemaster 30 commercially then replace the pulleys immediately with commercial grade because the stock pulleys do not last long at all. I do not like the 223cc Briggs and Stratton that came with my new 2021 model Timemaster 30 so I'm ordering the Kohler Command pro 225 cc commercial engine which is used on the Turfmaster. It has 11lb torque vrs the 10lb torque on the Briggs and is more fuel efficient than the Briggs. I'm barely getting 45 minutes on the Briggs though it is in its break in period it still should do better especially with fuel stabilizer using 87 octane with 10% ethanol. I cannot get non ethanol gas around here because last week they raised it to $7.56 a gallon at our local station and there's no way in hell I'm paying that much to fill a 5 gallon gas can. Hell even the damn stabilizer costs over $15.00, gee thanks Resident Biden what a putz! I truly love the design of the Timemaster 30 but that Briggs has to go! BTW that blue foam they stick in the gas tank is absolutely worthless, it won't prevent Vapor locking and you stand a risk over time of the foam breaking down and messing your tank, carburetor and engine up. Even my neighbor a retired small engine repair technician scratched his head and asked why they would even do that.

    • @cheaperthandirtvideos1
      @cheaperthandirtvideos1  Před rokem +1

      Yes, not sure why they add the foam sponge. I agree it would break down and contaminate the fuel. I never thought about swapping the engine. Seam like an expensive swap for little gain. It probably would be better at cutting wet grass.

    • @cheaperthandirtvideos1

      No, just the back. I never use the side chute. Then I blow the grass rows apart so it reduces visual of the cut grass clumps.

  • @UhBuddy1976
    @UhBuddy1976 Před 5 lety +2

    Respectfully, This is NOT a commercial mower. The Toro website categorizes it as residential. The dealer where I bought mine even stated it is not a commercial mower. It IS a high quality residential mower, just like the Honda. The Briggs & Stratton engine in a Professional Series which is a good strong motor for many applications. If your belt is-breaking on average every three months., then that’s pretty good for what you’re using it for. The engine, for a B&S, is quite tough. My dealer told me that he does sell these to commercial lawn mower people while informing them that it’s not for commercial use. They say “I don’t care” and buy anyway. Anyway, it seems like a really good machine. I know you guys in rainy climates have no choice but many mowers do clog when it rains.

    Rule number 1 never use it to cut wet grass I use my Honda but I usually don’t cut when it’s wet maybe a lil damp but rarely number 2 anything over 5 inches I use my Honda I found the sweet spot is only use it for dry grass (ONLY) under 4 inches and under it’s a mower for houses that keep there yards cut weekly if you use it for that you can get close to 2 years out of it!

      Turfmaster is about $800 more for a bigger tank, strange wheel adjustment, and a bumber system. Transmission, blades, pully systems, and belts are the same. I take alot of crap on here for not using "commercial mowers," but I way how much more $800 is for a larger gas tank. TimeMaster has slightly larger cc engine than turfmaster, so commercial makes no sense to me.

Plus a large production machine down the road if I got busy. I'll add the wheels on the Turfmaster look tough though. Dunno how much more they cost or if they fit. I'd like to figure out how to get the Turfmaster gas tank on the Timemaster. It needs to stay between the wheels for weight. Especially in front of the rear wheels. Gets rear heavy when bagging as you know. Rig it with a commercial tank and you really got a machine.

      Yes, the belt issue is a problem. With so much wet grass here, weight is an issue. Bigger, heavier "commercial" mowers cause rutting issues in the lawns. That's why I give this mower a 7 out of 10. Good medium mowers that have easy maneuverability just aren't available.
