Techniques such as color overlaying and cane making will also be explored.

Mark Matthews has become internationally recognized for his mastery of the glass sphere. He began handling molten glass for aesthetic purposes in 1974 while studying with Henry Halem at Kent State University. The sphere, with its minimal...www.cmog.org/bio/mark-matthews
This Guy is the kind of teacher you wanna learn from. He reminds me of all my fave teachers throughout school. The ones who's classes I never skipped to go smoke or hang out at the mall.
I love this mans cheerfulness makes it all the better for watching, love this dude he’s awesome. His work is amazing 👍🏻
Thanks for watching, Zara!
I just stumbled across your videos. Mark's obvious joy in what he does, and the fact that he's working glass in a dress shirt and slacks, makes this really enjoyable to watch. Thank you so much for letting us lay people watch, learn, and enjoy.
+TheCountessAsuka Thanks for watching! Here's Mark's demo from this year in case you haven't seen it czcams.com/video/NOg-0bmF5H8/video.html
It was a blast making this video! The CMOG AV crew was awesome to work with in the studio. They can dance around our Glass circus with ease and make it look like we know what we're doing! The Pulls that were on the demo were the best of the day!
Amazing!
Haha, he's just having so much fun! I love it!
Mark's enthusiasm is infections. His humility is commendable. Nice workd
Even tho the class didn't sound excited, that deserved a standing ovation.!
@TheMorbiousStone Thanks for your feedback, we're including final shots of the demo pieces when we can. For this demo, we posted a photo of the cane and of a marble that Mark Matthews made with the cane on our website: www.cmog.org/event/live-streamed-studio-demonstration-mark-matthews-1
Mark has become one of my very favorite artists to watch on CMOG. Hes funny, and a brilliant creative artist.
I love how enthusiastic Mr. Matthews is about his work. While I've loved watching the rest of the demo videos, I think this one is my favorite. :)
Daaaaaamn, i found all these videos extremely relaxing.
Excellent work Master Mar Mathews!!!
Wow! Loved watching this artist and his team work! Really fun demonstration. Beautiful designs.
Thank you for watching!
Fair enough! I love watching these videos xx
I have always wondered how the spirals in glass were created. Thank you for this video! What an amazing art! I really wish I could get into working with glass. Those spheres are stunning!
This guy reminds me of Anthony Bourdaine! Love this glass work as well!
Thanks for watching!
Mark's style is both loose and meticulous, like his art. Very cool to behold in action:-) Thanks for letting us watch!
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful pieces
as soon as he started talking, i just thought to myself, i want to be friends with this guy! hahah I love these demo videos! this one especially
+Dread Pirate Daisy Thanks for watching!
wow Anthony Bourdain is really good at this stuff
DudeTheMan damnit, you beat me to it haha
Who else went "grab it!" at 9:30? 😂
Beautiful cane work, awesome personality this was really enjoyable to watch. Thank you for these videos....
+Silver Eagle Glass Art Thanks for watching!
I loved watching this!! Mark Matthews' kind of reminded me a little of Groucho Marx's voice. And those patterns were beautiful. Can't wait to see more
wow awesome
Wow, that's beautiful.
i know this is a year old lol but i sure love watching Mark work
amazing! he handle glass like it was putty.
fenomenal
Thanks for showing the results. I hope you will do that for more future videos.
I fully agree with you. Too often we see the piece going in the kiln but we don't get to see it once it has cooled down and regained the intended colors.
beautiful
Wow, wow, wow. Amazing.
I like him, he's having Suh a blast doing what he does I love it
Very cool!!
Wow the way it looks
masterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
GRACIAS ....
very cool!!
Huge skill level. Where does he have his studio?
His studio is at Sauder Village in Archbold, Ohio. www.markmatthewsglass.com/markmatthews.html
macnuth I was just looking at the comments because I recognized him. I have seen him live at Saunders Village before. He's great with kids and demonstrations. Very entertaining!
love at 1020' fresh glass
1:03:40
professor: yeah hold it more there, MORE there
kid: :0
He's so weird. I love it.
very nice and I think more instructing tan other videos since mark since to care about explaining what he is doing. beside being pretty, what is exactly what he has created?
Love this mans jokes, he's like the Tom Servo of glass.
At 34.33 "Oh its hot in there" NO SHIT SHERLOCK!!!
awesome video poor old guy seemed a lil flustered
Why u guys never show the finished product
He seems like he's really fun to work with...lol
I feel bad that at first no one was paying attention to him, just talking with themselves while he was looking around for someone to help him. Here this great artist is showing how to do his work and others are slowly looking around like they are waiting for a bus, kind of disrespectful
VeganMarcella andMore maybe because the first steps are pretty simple steps that you do for alot of different pieces. They could also have heard the same thing before and he's just doing it for the camera.
Jake N yeah, I bet most those people have worked with him before. he's not teaching them. lol..
Anthony Bourdain is rant good at making glass
I seriously just commented that and then saw yours lol good call
Is there a demo on the cheetah print one?
No, but if you check out around 40:10 of his artist lecture czcams.com/video/d96_3-mqFp0/video.html Mark talks more about his animal print spheres. Thanks for watching!
Смотрел бы и смотрел))
what kinda Italian name is he doing?
How do I get some of his work
You can contact Mark - his contact information is on his website www.markmatthewsglass.com
Poor Svetlana! "Assume the position!" ಠ_ಠ
It just made everything after akward, with a bad taste in your mouth. It sticks in the back of your head. 🤔
very entertaining and educational. However, all the people in the back that were talking and not a part of the demo were very rude and distracting.
Lol is anyone listening
+Holder Bee That's what I was thinking. Everybody looks like they were just aimlessly walking round bored out of their minds.
he is so cute
"...inserting this big broad feature." 😝👍

The reason you clicked on this video is at 30:00.
Seems acutely aware of the sexual innuendo. Awesome. Haha
In that case I would be looking for a personal reference (just make sure it states that it's personal and not work related). Are there any charities, church groups, school parents associations that you are active with? Depending on the job, the references may not be important, but I still want to see a referee even if I don't call them. I have found them unreliable in the past, and even found some co-workers pretending to be managers.
As I said if the latest supervisor isn't on there, I'd ask the question. In your case I'd ask what you've been doing in the last couple of years and if it's a reasonable explanation I'd move on.
He used the wrong pipe... :D
Maybe not wear biz casual to do glass lol
he looks like dr. strangelove XD
He gonna to shut up this pink shirt
Glass dildoe
the grunting makes me a little uncomfortable tbh lol
Sky B yea and him gulping when he was drinking but I liked it I want to do this when I grow up but he's an amazing artist
Mucha tontería....
This guy is grunting and sounds so annoyed snd rushed. He doesn't look fun to work with either barking orders and not being a team player. Shouldn't you enjoy your work/artform and even find it fun and relaxing? He's so impatient and has this Attitude like he's annoyed to be there. I don't usually leave comments but he is just that awful.
Christeen Bjorn agreed. It’s like he is grinding out a 8-5 job at work. Once this art become work it takes the creativity out of it. Enjoy what u do. Not become a slave to it lol
I like a man's narration better than a women's because the voice is nice to listen to and the women have like some what high picted noise going on and it gets irritating after a while.
