    When the glass is pulled, it's like magic! it looks like a blob of clear glass on a rod magically turning into those fabulous patterns. Amazing!

    I have no idea how I got to this video from the Japanese lesson I started with, but I'm both glad and terrified to say you've given me something new to procrastinate with during finals week! Thank you and also WHY?!
    PS: Glass is kind of awesome, and I love watching this.

      +I'm listening I'm the same, this stuff fascinates me - it's just a shame it's so inaccessible for crafters... well except the mini glass blowing stuff I guess.

    I don't understand the point of the Tilt-a-Whirl. It doesn't seem like it produces a result that's any different from a vertical hot cup, especially since they take it off and put it on the ground as soon as he sticks his blow pipe with the rods in.

    • @b.e.harder5936
      @b.e.harder5936 Před 6 lety

      It’s needed because the glass on the end of the rod isn’t symmetrical, like the first cane he made. The larger cylinder goes in on the bottom and forces the glass around the smaller cylinder more evenly. If both cylinders were the same size, he wouldn’t have to use the tilt-a-whirl.

      @corningmuseumofglass  Před 8 lety +1

      +bhmainz The small brush helps to remove dust and dirt from the glass that may be stuck but no fused onto the surface. Thanks for watching!
