Came back to this video because Keon Sabb is now a national champion. Wild haha
Hahaha I know he played well too
Turned out fire!
Eh thanks so much bro!!!
I miss you bro...@YCImaging...lemme check your channel, it's been a minute no notifications😂
Idk about you guys but I think everything Danny does is epic
Absolutely agree with you
@@Arcvde agreed
same
I agree
Hahah thank you brotha
I'm here for the "I love you"
This is the best quality BTS footage I've seen in a really long time
I paid someone to grab BTS of me on a set and it was so shakey and out of focus. lol They apparently went to film school too
@@evanthecameraman yeah lol, some people who shoot BTS make a DSLR look like a 2001 point and shoot
My guy Carlo
Your edit was absolutely flames my man! Love the pacing and of course the camera work.
Thanks brotha! I watched your latest on my tv so I couldn’t comment but it was beautiful and heartfelt
yeah nice, so many cuts, that you dont see anything. great work.
DUDE. This was beautifully shot!!! LOVE IT!
You always dedicate time to talk about other people’s greatness that’s rare, keep it up because people who always try to bring other potential great people to the top with them never stops growing.
It’s always deserved by those people!
That was really well shot of course, but can we also talk about how great that edit was?
Haha thanks man
I'd love to see more about the decisionmaking. Not only what you did, but why you did it. Why did you do the edit the way you did it? What was your process? I saw a lot of different very nice angles. How did you find them and what made you choose them? You could break this down into like 3 hours of content easily and I'd watch every second of it! For me, that is the real value! Loved the video man, keep it up I'm happy you decided more to the CZcams side :D
Dude that was fantastic. Love the dedication of that blankets in the gym scene - amazing.
Haha dude it was such a process
this is so good bro! love it all
I know you had fun with this project. Its so cool that you get to do shoots like this, and you have the skills to do it. You are doing what many of us would love to do. Thanks for letting us come along for the ride.
The flow of the video is just perfect! There is something about how you move the camera in your sport videos that I just love 🙌🏾
Thanks so much Juan
That "love you " feels soo genuine each time 🥺♥️ love you too
Haha I mean it every time
@@DannyGevirtz ik we see it in your eyes 😌
Been watching you for a while Danny and I've just subbed after watching this episode. You're a caring, passionate and thoughtful film-maker...all aspects I'm trying to ingratiate into my own work and life.
Keep up the good work and much love from Durban -> South Africa
Thanks so much man! Welcome to the team officially
Tons of value here!
And the final result... 🔥🔥
The CZcams space needs more creators like you Danny
Damn i loved this so much. I’m extremely passionate about films. Directing/writing is my strong point, but the producing and behind the scenes for me is a whole new league of play. Really helped me visualize my work a little more! Maybe we will meet on a movie set one day!
My man hit a perfect slant route while holding an Ursa Mini... LEGEND!
This was inspirational on a whole new level. Great video Danny! Love to see and hear your thoughts on the choices you make but more importantly love that it's so clear and simple to understand. You know how to dummify complex scenes for a new filmmaker and this gets me pumped to go out and create something. Love it when a collab leads to not only a successful project but a genuine feeling of gratitude for meeting someone like Biron. Good job all around!
Love your content mate! As an aspiring DP myself, it’s awesome to have this kind of content on CZcams in such a personal and accessible way. I’m learning loads from your channel so thank you!
Thanks dude!!
Dude I love that darker look, looks sooo good. How do you go about exposing to make sure you aren’t loosing all your shadow detail?
Adam Lora its his grandma secret recepi
Thanks man! I just don’t clip the blacks haha
Lol “wow kernel your chicken is really good, how do you go about making it” 🤣🤣🤦🏾♂️
Personally i'd love to see how the focus pulling process works, and how it's used, whether it be on a DSLR or a Cinema camera
You are the man!!!!! I love this! and all your works!!! Was checking all your videos on Vimeo!
It’s incredibly helpful to hear your thought process for lighting every scene in this. Final product turned out really well and makes me think differently about how I’ll shoot going forward. Great stuff Danny!
straight up the first words out of my mouth after the commercial was " HOT DAMN" ... anyone would be inspired after that
Hahah thanks man
Danny: don't worry about it
*looks up shutter angle to shutter speed calculator*
Fantastic work! Loved it!
I love that as I get more into being a director and dp, I can rewatch these videos and get more out of it. Thank you Danny 🙏🏻
Can you go over 3 point lighting, vs practical lighting on a set? I feel like they aren’t the same, but I’ve been told they should be.
When I see your name. I give like, then I start the video.
SICK!!!! I'm glad I watched this because I actually have a MixPanel 150 on the way and this spec piece seems like a really good use of it's capabilities. Great job man and thanks for sharing/having us learn from your journey.
Thank you for Sharing Danny!
Real question though, how did the budget for this shakedown at all? There’s no client paying here? You charged your full rate or what? TIA
“I love you”
If it's spec that usually means you pay out of your pocket to make it happen, so there is no charging a full rate or anything like that. So him and the director probably split whatever costs were necessary, such as any gear rentals, etc.
Biron put like $1500 of his own money into the whole thing I did it for free and so did everyone else. And everyone chipped in gear
@@DannyGevirtz ah ok. I was wondering about that!
@@DannyGevirtz Great video, thank you so much for sharing this. It's so exciting to how much you can actually accomplish with a tiny budget and a lot of passion!
Could you share any thoughts for how different do you think the picture would be if you had to film this with some mirrorless/DSLR camera on a smaller gimbal (say Ronan) using maybe some common prime or zoom lenses (except for the anamorphic vs spherical which is sort-a an obvious difference).
@@DannyGevirtz How long did it take from A to Finish?
Yo man, you bout to gain some serious muscle carrying around that gear...lol
Haha it was exhausting
I'm busy working on my first ACTUAL documentary project and your BTS breakdowns are worth gold. It's imbuing me with a subtle sense of confidence because you make it so clear that what really matters are the people you have around you and a can-do attitude that allows you to take setbacks in your stride. (Also, planning, planning, planning.)
Thanks Danny!
Dude man I am so happy for you sounds like this crew is really awesome!! Love your style and great breakdown of the process. Cheers man from Canada! 🔥🍻
Hey man i love u too before i start watching hhhh😍😍😍
Haha hope you liked it
I love this video and the commercial! It really looked like a great set to be on. I found your channel earlier this year and happy I did. I've been watching a lot of your older videos and new ones. Love your style and the information you give!! Can't wait to see more of your videos!! :)
It was awesome thanks so much
There’s something about how you do these breakdowns. In such a short period of time, you’re able to give details that are easy to understand and doesn’t confuse the audience. Great work as always Danny!
Love that you think outside the box and are willing to break certain filmmaking rules. That 90-degree shutter angle is going in my bag of tricks.
Appreciate you doing this video, Danny.
Much love
Bro, your content just keeps getting better! LOVE IT
One of the best videographers/filmmakers on CZcams! So many insights, learnings, tips, tricks and that.... most film you tubers just spam the feed with camera reviews, tech you need and comparison vids! Thank you Danny!
I'm gonna watch this commercial over and over and learn the hell out of it. It's amazing. What I would really really really want to see is how focus pulling works in these intense shots 😱
Honestly so glad I stumbled upon your channel love you man!
First of your videos I’ve ever seen and I subbed and liked! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 thank you for existing.
Great breakdown, Danny. And, congratulations on 70K subscribers.🎉
I like the raw, handheld approach for this, and love the ceiling tube light technique!
Thanks so much Dave!

Being someone who has made his living in the film industry for over 30 years (gaffer & DP) I have to say this is top notch phenomenal work - from conception to execution to the edit. Subscribed & looking forward to your future projects!

Fantastic work Danny. Fantastic. Very consequential 🔥
Its really awesome to hear how you acknowledge all the guys who contributed in someway to the video, generally its only "me me me" for most guys. You are different show care as well as awesome work
Loved the spot, bravo to cast and crew!
Dude, I think thats definitely one of your best so far. Just awesome.
mad dope broedy....i wish you nothing but big success in everything you do----woo woo
Great video man. Love seeing the breakdown of the scenes.
This is insane!!! love the breakdown. THANK YOU!!
The production so smooth and creative process. Love that video.
Congratulations on your team even though you have a small team but a talented team you have on that sports commercial. It really inspires many of us in grinding every day in the film making industry. More content to come and I will watch it every video that you will be posted on your channel.
Thanks dude!!
Loved this! This was amazing. Thanks for sharing and being a huge inspiration.
Love what you did here! Great job!
I’ve been a commercial DP for 12 years and in the industry for 25. I find your content really refreshing and honestly, I learn bits and bobs from your approach which I have utilised on my own shoots. The game has changed a lot and working in a skeleton crew has become more common and people like me are having to learn to adapt to that change. Thank you for this content - its helpful to everyone!
So inspired by this! Especially the lighting portion with the led lights on the ceiling. I found some neat magnets to slap on my quasars for ceiling rigging. Really excited for what's to come.
Nice job Danny! With what you had to work with, well done!
Love this man! And geez you are fast!
This... is... just... AWESOME!. Good vibes. Great story. Excellent Cinematography. 100% inspiring
Solid work and great breakdown bro! So grateful you can support others with their vision man!

truly Cinematic lighting and Commercial quality film, it is awesome
Such a good video man. Very informative. Thank you!!
great work ! love this, thank you
Awesome work dude. Bravo
Amazing insights as always! - That shot at 9:06 had me dying, some of the best shots in cinema have the people behind the camera at the time like this for sure haha.
this was so sick man! Loved the look in this one!
Thanks Nick!
Great video! A little while ago I saw that you tagged Byron in one of your stories and I checked him out. I love his work and I even DM'd him and he gave me some advice!
Nice man! Thanks!
