- In 2020, Luke Thorkildsen, Kevin Wilkerson, and David Faubion took to Alaska as part of the testing circuit for the 338 WBY RPM. The trio had 8 days to fill 3 caribou tags. All three were first time caribou hunters and had not previously hunted in the state of Alaska. The uncertainty mixed with excitement made for an incredible experience that culminated in successfully taking 3 caribou bulls in less than 24 hours and providing important ballistic performance information for the 338 WBY RPM.

Wow, that was an amazing trip, thank you for taking us all along. That .338 just dropped all three in their tracks - awesome! Stellar film, great cinematography and editing!
that 338 RPM rocked em!!!
That 338 is a hammer! Great hunt!
I had the privilege of hunting with Deadhorse Outfitters last week. Hook is a great guy that knows his stuff.
Heck of an adventure! Thanks for sharing!
Great video and camera work was spot on.
Congratulations to all you!!
That takes me back 40 years, when I shot my caribou, with my trusty 300 Wby. What a great experience
I grew up in South Gate CA and was luck to go to the original Weatherby. I remember a pancake house next to the Weatherby showroom and having my grandfather let my go over and look at all the trophies mounted in the showroom. I’ve been lucky also to purchase a 7 mm Weatherby and a 340 Ultra Mark.
Very cool. Thanks for sharing
After watching this, and how good a job you guys did, I’m asking myself only one question. Why doesn’t Weatherby have a hunting show on Outdoor channel or Sportsman channel? I’d watch it. Great job guys, and congrats on the success on each hunt.
Awesome trip,I am starting to plan my on trip!!
Impressive round guys. BYW those mosquitoes were bugging the he!! out of me, Great job on the show.
Awesome hunting trip. I was in Alaska last September for a waterfowl hunting and fishing 🎣 trip. What a beautiful rugged and wild place.
I would love to get back up there on a caribou hunt some year.
If only I could move to Sheridan, WY and work for Weatherby, help develop new cartridges and firearms then go on EPIC adventures to test them out. A pipe dream I know.
I've always had moose on my bucket list. I didn't necessarily have caribou on my list. IDK why, just wasn't that appealing. It sure is now though. Thanks for sharing, this was really, really cool.
Congrats on Harvest.
We killed 2 Really good Bulls last week DIY bows on North Range..
Hopefully video out soon in future..
That was an awesome Hunt guys
Thanks for taking me along from Arkansas to the adventure and successful hunt of a life time.. probably won't see nothing like this on film in awhile... great work... and hey mr.Arkansas take a therma cell next time those mosquitos hit different then the ones here back home in Arkansas
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was a great hunt guys! What kind of inflatable boats were you guys using?
We were using Alpaca rafts. They are based in Mancos CO and are AWESOME.
Just bought a 6.5x300 meat eater edition last week
Its gonna take me a while to save for it, but I want a .338 Weatherby RPM.
How did the first lite clothing do in the wind and rain ?
Josh, it did great. No issues. I think some of their older rain gear may have had some issues, but the new stuff is awesome.
What dates were you guys there?
Roughly between the 10-20th of August, the migration was late that year which led to the lack of caribou
Who dropped you off? I mean can you share his contact information
