One of the very greatest novels of the 20th Century and, as Larry McCaffery suggested, the greatest American political novel. This stunning passage read so aptly by its author that I really feel the need now to reread the whole thing again. Followed by a chaser of his very dissimilar 21st Century masterpiece, Brunist Day of Wrath.

Genius. I've listened to this at least 15 times and get something new during each listen.

Just discovered this book because of a mention by Ted Solotaroff -- I can't believe I never heard of it before....
