Thank you Adam and thank you Harri! Your fans and patrons have you reacting to so much great Canadian music that I'm sorry, but we're going to have to nominate you as an honorary citizen, eh? Love this channel!!

I'm Australian, but have a lot of family in Canada. I've been there many times in the last 40 years and just came back from a seven week visit. This song, more than any other reminds me of Canada and my family there.

I used to tell international students, when you understand Blue Rodeo you understand traditional Canada. It is the music of a vast, cold, folksy, beautiful land.

I love Blue Rodeo!! They are amazing! I have all of their cd's and have been a huge fan for many years. Many years ago I wrote a letter to the band's fan club, and I received a hand written note from Jim Cuddy's wife telling me thanks for loving the band and supporting their music. I cherished that letter and still do. I saw them years ago at an outdoor summer Princess Island Folk Festival here in Calgary and I love this song. Thanks for the great reaction video :)

@@pacard33 this is what I found in a search. Blue Rodeo's song "Flying" appears on the soundtrack to the television show Due South as track 10, album released in 1996.

Thank you Harri. I've seen them numerous times with my dad and they sound the same live as recorded. My dad was a guitar player blue grass mostly I was a rocker and we found BR as a band we both loved. Hearing this song made me emotional as he passed away in January and I've been missing him since. Appreciate your reaction

I’ve seen them live over two dozen times, starting in Ottawa in 1990. I’ve seen them in Kitchener, in London, in Toronto, in Calgary, in Stratford. I saw them with my late wife. I’ve seen them with my current wife. I saw them in February and I’ll be seeing them again in a few weeks.
All of which is to say that you need to see a live version of this song, which is typically either the closer or one of the encore songs. Nowadays, everyone in the crowd sings it with the band. As a matter of fact, I think I’ve posted a couple of live versions of it myself.
They are Canada’s premiere rock band now, with Rush and the Tragically Hip both over due to he death of critical band members. They have 16 studio albums and counting and are coming up on 40 years together too. Happy to provide recommendations for more.

From their 1994 album, "5 Days in July" , their debut album, this is such a lovely song.
Jim and Greg's harmonies are so perfect in sharing the emotion of the lyrics. The beautiful mondolin such a great treat and unexpected.
Was lucky enough to see this performed live in a smaller venue, you could hear a pin drop it was so emotional. Great choice Adam. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Adam 👏 👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Many, many years ago I was in a used record shop (yep, that long ago) and one of the clerks put on a song that caught my attention...particularly when the lyric "I feel like William Holden floating in a pool" hit....I HAD to ask who that group was...fast forward a year or two and I was very happy to see them on their Casino tour supporting Lucinda Williams...quite a talented group...have been listening ever since....thanks Harri for reacting to this and to Andy for the recommendation. Cheers.

Not sure exactly what it was with this song, but I played the shit out of it. I've always loved Blue Rodeo, have seen them probably 5 times live. Jim Cuddy is the absolutely million dollar voice for this band, by Greg Keelor kills it with this one (like a Diamond Mine). Absolutely embarrassed I haven't thought to request them. What will blow you away about blue rodeo is how they always do what is right for the song. The guy singing this song is only one of 2 vocalists in the band. The other is Jim Cuddy, who has an angelic voice that matches any great rock vocalist out there. And yet he knows when Greg's raunchy rockabilly sound is right for the song
