Watching this makes me happy I had all my training without gloves or any hand protection. It makes all the difference, especially with the sensitivity contact.

With respect this is just pushing and wrestling, Tai Chi is about yielding more so in my opinion.

You're welcome to attend this event next year, and yield to the other competitors.

I would argue It's more about gentility and alignment. It's indeed valid to apply such to a Yin style, when meeting another alignment, but every bit as much to a Yang one, if you're doing it correctly.

Interesting, they never go to 100% weight on the back foot, like in the Form.

They're not following the rules If they disconnect you punch you fight your form and touch each one it's not kickboxing you dissolve force you try to get them to fall and then you can add power and the direction they're going when you throw a punch they have to be falling towards you My teach used to say that when you threw a punch correctly they would bow at your feet but he had enough power to bust somebody's guts open and create internal bleeding beautiful but Tai cheese for girls lol

Seems to devolve into wrestling very quickly but there's some elements that could be applicable to real life situations
    Overall enjoyed it

The best real life examples of taiji are in Greco-Roman wrestling so, there ya go. Not that slap hand bullshit 99% of the shiny pajama crowd things is "real" taiji

@@ShorelineTaiChi As soon as there is any pressure the style goes out the window is what I mean and the competitors look like fish out of water. I can’t see how anyone could think this is an effective fighting style for anyone that’s not trained it for at least 20years plus. I’d be willing to bet any Muay Thai or Jiu Jitsu practitioner that’s trained for 3-5 years a couple days weekly would wipe the floor with 99% of tai chi practitioners. I respect traditional kung fu but this fairy tale of it being competitive against other modern fighting styles is ridiculous.

That's because tui shou is supposed to be a training method. You can kind of make a game out of it, but if the goal is to push each other over, then there are a lot more direct ways to do it than by "fencing" with your arms. The fencing is really important for others aspects of the art though...and that's why you train it.

Is this pushing hands or Sumo wrestling. Whoever organized this needs to learn the art! Sad very sad. They've taken an art and diminished it's form.

Push hands devolving into bad wrestling.. the usual. Also extremely arrogant replies given by whoever is running this channel. I doubt anyone here has cultivated any of the correct internal conditions that are fundamental to the art...

Ein bescheuertes Gerangel mehr ist hier nicht zu erkennen.
