Great show as usual. Just a few comments/clarifications regarding Larry/N0SA. Charlie said Larry isn't making paddles anymore, but that's not necessarily accurate. Larry is intermittent with his manufacturing and/or selling. But, the M3 is new and was recently developed by Larry, so he is still making paddles. Secondly, Evan said at the end that the M3 is unobtainable, which is not true. I literally received the M3 from Larry less than 2 weeks ago. My suggestion would be to simply reach out to Larry to inquire about availability. You may luck out. Thanks.

For using Morse code, there's always the Boy Scout wig-wag method of sending with a single flag. You don't get good ionospheric bounce, but it's a great line-of-sight machine.
The uniform shirt used to have a patrol patch (dot) on the right sleeve and the troop insignia (dash) on the left. It was designed that way.

HA! I happen to be reading CW life. Great to hear recomendations from people who know. On all the stuff discussed including the putty. I happened to see the putty on Amazon and was thinking that it would be great for holding down a key. Glad to know i am not the only person who is fixated on such things. Its like when you become a ham you see antennas. you get a new car you see that make and model everywhere, you see Evan driving a Porche wellllll he just has bad taste in cars. Not everyone is perfect.
Easy answer: What makes a great CW key? It does the job so reliably and consistently that it disappears out of mind until you look at it... at which point it looks beautiful.
Like we did the best paddle you have is the one you have right now.
