Man I got out of the army in 2015 and bought eleven acres in Virginia and been farming cows, goats, chickens, turkeys, ducks, dogs and cats ever since. We get out butts handed to us every year. Never seems like we’re caught up. I guess that’s the point. Stay motivated! Stay fed!
Truly peaceful and idyllic, even if it's a LOT of work. Thanks for providing something wholesome and beautiful and honest, for my eyes and heart and soul... I need stuff like this to help wash out all the corrosive garbage that otherwise occupies much of the social media space I encounter throughout a typical day. For those of us who live in urban environments, this is a helpful reminder of how much work, thought, preparation and planning go into the productive care of a large piece of land. This truly is *stewardship*... Its a process of listening to and inspecting the land, and seeing to its needs so as to be able to produce meaningful quantities of product from that piece of land. It really is labor intensive, and you can see why it often takes a whole family (if not more!) to get all of the work done. Thanks for doing this, Edwards family... Throwing bails of hay will surely keep you in shape! If your thinking about getting cattle, have you heard of the natural grazing? Letting the cows rath the grass in a few acres, them move them to a different plot?
