I don't think she was forgotten per se, I see it more as an obscure piece of history that only collectors know. But I do agree, she should have stayed as the leading fashion doll instead of Barbie. (Or at least expand globally for a few more years so they wouldn't be so damn expensive and hard to find!!)
Her history isn't sad, she started out as a Nazi propaganda comic strip. It's only appropriate that Ruth Handler, a Jewish woman, reclaim her. Justice was served and Barbie is better in every way imaginable.
Thank you! I know it can be intimidating at first, but the results are really worth it in my opinion. I wish I had a Lilli as well, but until then I gotta fool myself into believing clones are just as good 😂😭😭
What a good variety of dolls you are giving to us! I wish we could have this type of clones in Argentina (and why not, original dolls) I'd love to buy one of yours, but I guess the shipping would cost me a kidney and a half. Anyways, maybe some day, when the economy here gets better lol.
You did an amazing job making a Lilli out of this vintage doll. I loved watching it and how calm you are. I had a real Bild Lilli and I recently uploaded a video on my channel about her. I agree with one of your viewers comments that it is a sad story how the original creator didn’t get to keep the rights to his creation. I think our videos create awareness and help honour what he started. She is an amazing piece of history!
Thank you! I absolutely agree and it's really quite tragic how time erases these informations, but I love doing my part in keeping her memory alive. Watching your video rn!
@@DoeDeerWonderland it’s nice of you to respond and thank you for watching my video. I tried to keep the facts straight without going into too much detail and negativity. 😊
I love Bild Lilly ❤, so sad that she no longer exists, and that Barbie took over. Don't get wrong, I love Barbie too, but Bild Lilly was first and it is not fair that Barbie took over and replaced Bild Lily. What I also like more about Bild Lilly than Barbie, is that Lilly didn't have that stupid ignorant stereotype that "dolls are for girls" (I used quotes because boys and girls can play with whatever they want to play with) since Bild Lilly was originally made for adult men and she was based on an adult comic strip on a newspaper. So for that reason, Bild Lilly didn't have that stupid stereotype, and I love her for that. I also love her because she was the first doll shaped like an adult woman, in other words, fashion doll. I hope I can own an original Bild Lilly some day, or at least, a clone or reproduction.
I feel the same way. She just has more soul. It's like you're holding a piece of history as opposed to a toy. Whereas Barbie, even the vintage ones, feel mass produced and while I love both, I prefer that artisanal charm Lilli has
I think I have a Wendy doll! I’ve been trying to identify her for ages. Only thing is, she has soft flexible plastic arms, and her fingers, when compared to Barbie, are a bit chubbier, and spread wider. Maybe mine is yet another clone? But seriously the face, hairline, bangs, eyebrows, the hole in the head, all look identical to this doll. Do you have much info on the Barbie/Lilli clone dolls made by various other companies?
Sure, they’re not Bild Lilli rare, but they were only produced for a few years back in the 60s, considering it’s been 60 odd years and there aren’t too many on secondary market I would say that’s enough to class them as pretty rare for our modern standards lol
Lol I wouldn't say she was a prostitute. In the comic strip she was just a young, sexually liberated woman. People mistook that, coupled with the fact that the doll was initially marketed towards adults and twisted it into Lilli being a hooker, which is not the case
I personally love Bild Lilly. Her history is pretty sad, and i'm sad that she was forgotten because of Barbie

I've never heard of this doll before, she's so pretty.
🙏
She came out beautiful. I have a wendy doll, I'd be to nervous to change her to lilli. But I wish I had a lili.

I sometimes do past life regression work. You were a watch maker in Germany, lol. I think this was during the war.
My mom's into that sort of stuff, she told me I was a war strategist of all things 😂
I want to know what I was!
Beautiful! ❤️ Thank you!

@@xavierx2927 yes, @DoeDeerWonderland :)
wonderful!!!
Thanks! ❤️
I have a Hong Kong Lilli and I’d love to redo her hair, but I’m not brave enough. You did a great job!
Thanks! They look very intimidating but they're really easy to restyle!
@@DoeDeerWonderland I bought a couple of sad Barbies at Goodwill. Now I just have to get some hair and supplies. 😊
You should create a class!
If I had enough interest I could definitely consider doing that!
Very beautiful work. I have a Wendy that I would like to redo too, what material did you use for the hair, the hair looks amazing.
Thank you! It's silk fiber :)
Мастер, браво! 🎉
Thank you!
I have one just like it. I would like someone with your experience to fix it for me.
Well, if you're ever interested in giving her a bit of a clean-up, I am open for commission and you can DM me on Instagram @DoeDeerWonderland :)
I like build lilly more than barbie and l want doll like this so mutch 🤩❤️
I ❤️ Your videos
Thanks 🙏
I would love to have a Bill Lilly. Barbie is actually a clone of her.
Technically she is! She's really stunning in real life and such a great addition to a collection.

I'm not an expert unfortunately, but there is a Facebook group called 'Clone fashion doll collectors' who are way more qualified to identify clones 😊
Очень хорошо!!!
Thank you ❤️
Wowed
😂 Greatly appreciated

Not that rare. I have 4 of them from my grandmama

Lilly was a prostitute if I remember correctly. She was very interesting. I love her hairstyle more than Barbie's.

La mamma di Barbie.Ma dove cappero hai trovato la fibra di seta???
