- The most relaxing staycation on the island in my humble opinion. Our normal staycation's usually involves big pools and big slides. To be honest I wasn't expecting much but to my surprise the cottages was exactly what my family needed. I wouldn't swim in the water but the sounds of the waves and the old school cottages brings you back in time of a much simpler and worry free day.
Part of my childhood was spent in one of these plantation style homes. Not this nice. I'm happy to see the cement shower and wood burning hot water tank was missing, but the old school feel is still there and brought back many fond memories of camp life with my cousins and family. Another cool tidbit is the family's name whom lived in these cottages during the sugar plantation days are posted near the main door providing another link to the past.
This was the first time I stayed at the Waimea Plantation Cottages, and it was so much more than what I thought it would be. This is my new favorite spot for a relaxing reset needed to get back into the daily grind.
By the way the rooms were much cleaner and put together than the video shows. This video is after my family spent a night in this cottage.

It’s a great place to unwind
Been there twice. Best place on earth.
Dominik, amazing as always. Watching your videos makes me want to get back there to visit more and more. Hope you, your friends and family are doing well out there. Im seeing on the news about all the rain and flooding. Hope everyone is safe. Thanks again for the great video.
Appreciate that Paul. Some parts of Kauai got flooded bad like hanalei, lawai, Koloa. That I know of. Family is doing well. Hope you and your family are well.
Are the ocean fronts listed truly ocean front? Or are they just ocean views?
most of them aren't actually ocean front. check the map of the cottages and you will see which ones are close to the ocean.
Is it affordable? or very expensive?
When we stayed there Kauai was in semi-quarantine. The prices were less than other 2-3 bedroom hotels. Not sure what they are going for now. This place has a more hands off and laid back feel than a resort which I very much enjoyed.
is you have enough money money it's affordable if not it's expensive $4,000 for 6 nights, beach is not the best
