I was a little kid in Germany in the 80s. It really hit home. My mind at the time was "this is the good Germany, and way over there is the evil Commie Germany." Oh, the DDR. If my German neighbor wanted to send a package to relatives in East Germany, she was not allowed to wrap anything in newspaper.

I’ve watched all the series of 83, 86, and 89 and really enjoyed them. They weren’t popular in the United States where I’m from but I found it interesting the East and West and German intelligence during the cold war. I also liked how they built in fact with fiction. I’d like to know if any of the characters were based on actually any spy during the Cold War? Ich habe alle Serien von 83, 86 und 89 gesehen und sie wirklich genossen. Sie waren in den Vereinigten Staaten, wo ich herkomme, nicht beliebt, aber ich fand es interessant, den Osten und Westen und den deutschen Geheimdienst während des Kalten Krieges. Ich mochte auch, wie sie tatsächlich mit Fiktion gebaut haben. Ich würde gerne wissen, ob einer der Charaktere tatsächlich auf einem Spion während des Kalten Krieges basiert?

Deutschland 86 ist die besten in der Serie!
Loved the first series. Just finished watching it on Amazon Prime. But for some reason they don't have 86 and 89. What the hell is up with that? You'd think they would not have just one season of something. Whet someone's appetite and then laugh in their face. Anyway if anyone knows where one can get ahold of seasons two and three let me know.
