    Thank you very much for this. I bought the riser and it hasn't arrived yet so I was taking a gamble as well. Yours is the first information I found on it and really appreciate it

      No problem! Still shoots well withy long limbs. Really needed to put string silencers on though louder than my Martin Jaguar.

    Bought this riser for $131 Canadian via aliexpress in May based on this youtube video. Built with 28lb Ragim XT-100 long limbs (35lb@62") for 40lb draw at my 30". Replaced the limb alignment set screws with longer ones, as they were pretty short, and didn't seem to engage too many threads. Also re-glued the grip as it did come loose. Pretty quiet with fast flight string and beaver balls.
    Great low budget shooter. Great video!

      Great. I removed mine and just use a racquet grip now. Maybe not the best looking riser but... it works!

    I have the left hand version of this riser. It is a very good, durable riser with a target style grip. It doesn't fit all ilf limbs, however. I am currently using the entry level SF long limbs @ 32 pounds. It is being used for indoor shooting at 20 yards. It is very easy to shoot consistently.

    Just as with our Olympic Risers it's common to use tennis racket grip to wrap around the handle. You can get a 3 pack for about 3 bucks at Walmart. I'm glad to see this review as I too saw this riser and wondered how it stacked up. A friend of mine found a great riser on Ebay also. It turns out to be a clone of the MK x10 a $900 riser and he got it for $200.

      I made some more modifications to the riser. I actually took off the grip altogether. I used the tennis grip wrap on the bare handle now. I like this particular feel. Still working on my arrows now...

    I use that riser with Fivics foam carbon limbs. Good shooting bow. Seems like a strong riser.Now I need a 25 inch riser for a target bow, but they are pricey

    You should look on Alibaba or AliExpress. Nika and Junxing make very good ILF risers like the one you bought, the one you have here is made by Nika. I bought the exact riser you have (except with a lighter colored handle) straight from the manufacturer for $65 USD. I also have their Raptor limbs which set me back another ~$60. They also have good customer service Incase shit hits the fan. Thanks for the review, always good to see another person who hates spending a lot of money!

      No sight mounts on mine. Just a hole for a button or rest. You could drill your own or epoxy a diy mount bracket on the riser. I did this for mounting my bow quiver.

    You can masking tape it, then use the camo tape on top of the masking tape

  • @cyberlizardcouk
    @cyberlizardcouk Před 7 lety

    this will sound like a really strange question, but on the underside of the limb bolts, there should be a locking screw. I don't suppose you know the size and thread for it do you. Mine is missing one.

    I also ordered the riser at ebay. Pro-Archery from China for 85 € + 13 € shipping. I think the looks better than many others. I shoot him with Samick scorpion limbs.

      @LadybugAdventures  Před 7 lety +2

      How do you like it so far? I found out the handle is only attached with hot glue. I think one could put a different handle on it if you wanted. Also, looks like wood but just plastic.

      Gotta start somewhere! Sounds pretty inexpensive and if you like it you can upgrade. Even a $200 bow these days is really good.

    how do you think this compares to the more expensive risers? is it holding up well?

    • @LadybugAdventures
      @LadybugAdventures  Před 7 lety +1

      I've put hundreds of shots through it. Just shot it today on the 3D course in (-)2 degrees celsius. Still working on the tuning of the bow. I find it balanced. I recently took off the handle and now shoot it with the bare handle wrapped in grip tape. I can't think of what a more expensive riser would do better. It's cheap and does what it's supposed to do. I might add some threads on the side for my quiver though.

    the newer listings for this item says that it is for limbs less than 36 lbs. Why is that? Have you had no problems with 45 or 50 lbs? thx!

    • @LadybugAdventures
      @LadybugAdventures  Před 6 lety

      I haven't had any problems with it. A SF riser also around 17 or 19" also had a cap of 40#. I'll update if there are any issues.

    • @yi-tzaistoyreview4576
      @yi-tzaistoyreview4576 Před 6 lety

      Cool! So, here is what I decided as a path. and it is for two reasons: 1. the 36 lbs limit (which may not be a hard limit, as it can probably handle 50 lbs). 2. there is a riser that is even shorter than 17; and I like short bows, even though I have a regular draw at maybe 28.5 or 29). So, I went with the DX5 from 3 rivers and I went with the foam limbs. I decided to go all out. I know that it won't shoot wildly better (I have tried the $1000 Tomahawk longbow before, so I know $1000 bow is not ten times better than $100 bow; I actually love my $100 bow at 56 inch

      ok. I just put up 2 vids of the 3rivers das riser. I don't use a grip so I just wrap the riser with tennis wrap. I like thin hold on the riser. Also . .. I will buy a couple of horse bow as I think that is a good way to go primitive. I will let you know when I get the horse bow in the mail.

    I don't like the grip. I noticed in your $54 limb vid that you also chose to not like that grip. What did you do? did you get a different grip? I can't tell because the grip is covered up in the vid. Do other grips fit on that riser? I like a low grip. can I fit a low grip on there? thx

    • @LadybugAdventures
      @LadybugAdventures  Před 6 lety +1

      You can put other grips on. There is a hole in the handle for screwing it on. I just used some grip tape for tennis. I saw someone do this and I actually like this naked type grip.

    • @yi-tzaistoyreview4576
      @yi-tzaistoyreview4576 Před 6 lety

      oh. great! I think I am going to like the tennis tape naked grip. I am going to give it a try. I predict that I am going to probably like it because it wold be low grip. cool

      36lbs. These are around $250 (cdn) here. I just bought some bamboo limbs for $54 cdn and they seem to shoot just as well!!!

      @thorstenkummel6840 Před 7 lety

      It depends on what you want to do 36lbs is ok for target shooting but for huntin bigger game it is to low I think

    • @LadybugAdventures
      @LadybugAdventures  Před 7 lety +1

      36lbs on a 25"riser. I tested on a scale. It easily pulls around 44-45lbs on this 17"riser.
