    Thanks for this video. You explain everything extremely well as you are doing it. The only hard thing for me was taking out the optical drive, but using pliers helped me get it out.

    Thanks man! unfortunately I accidentally pulled the plastic tab of the trackpad cable. it came off and now the trackpad doesn't work :( ... tip. you don't have to remove that one if you're just going to upgrade the ram. the keyboard and display is enough. my laptop is very old the pull tabs got really fragile and sticky. I also accidentally removed the one from the power but luckily it didn't strip any parts of the actually cable itself

    Nice detailed video dude.
    My issue is that when using any browser(chrome etc.), laptop lags too much, (if not using browser, it works fine), so will upgrading to 8 gb from 4 gb DDR3L will work or its a SSD things needs to be upgraded (currently 1TB HDD)? or should I upgrade both ram & ssd, or what else would speed up performance of my laptop?

    Really great video to disassemble,my battery draining very much,
    It has been 8 years since I bought the laptop,i can say i didnot use the laptop much other than watching movies and few ms office works.
    Can changing the battery solve the problem

    Hello, I also have the same model. My laptop making weird sound while opening (like, teeeet-teeet-teeet) and the screen stays blur but on. So I can't see anything on the screen but understand that it's on. Can you tell me what can be the problem?

    Bro do you have a video to replace the touchscreen flex? I think mine is working bad...the screen do not response or i see weird colours..but if i press at the left of dell logo it becomes normal... this happened a few months after replace the hdd for a ssd i dont know...thanks in advance

    hi, so i ripped the power button connector at 7:24... the laptop hinge coming off loosely probably causing it . any idea if its possible to replace it, and if so where could you get these?

    Can you do the reverse of upgrading the ssd and disassembling it? My 3558 cracked on the right side near power button and I wanted to replace with a new shell.

      I don't own the computers and don't have the money to just buy and take apart every model of computer. These are customer computers. I can't be taking their things apart like that and I don't have the money or storage area to just buy computers and take them apart.

    If i remove the HDD and put that in the dvd place by caddy and put the SSD in the the HDD's place, Can the laptop's motherboard be damaged in the long run??

    Installed a crucial MX500 1000gb SSD and two crucial DDRL3 8gb RAM chips. The computer won’t correctly startup now. It cannot do an automatic repair. What do I do now?

    instructive video, helped in disassembly, thanks. A query about RAM, is a 16GB stick better instead of 2x 8GB? i read about dual channel being better for throughput but not sure if it would matter much in an old laptop.
    Also, any good screw driver/screws kit along with thread dripper etc to help in electronic upgrades/repair like this?

      @@11hitmanDagenius oh, the threadlocker. This is what I use amzn.to/3fdv4ta make sure not to use too much if you use it. You can use the blue kind as well, which isn't as strong.

      A lot of consumer chipsets (like this) will not support 16GB stick - go with 2 8GB

    Thanks for the video. Question though. I'm unable to remove the hdd from the mounting bracket, the screws are way to tight. Do you know what type of replacement bracket I can use for the new ssd?

      Sounds like you need a better screwdriver. Better to invest in that than a bracket.

      You'll want to check if the laptop is using one slot or both. You'll want both sticks to match for best performance.

      @@ItsBinhRepaired I see in the specs that it supports ddr3 1600mhz in 2,4,6,8gb configurations. Does this mean 4+4 or can I just replace the one 4gb stick with a 8gb.
      I build gaming PCs so im not really a noob, just never worked on a laptop lol.

      @@user-fj5ul9ci7d It'll perform better with two matching sticks as mentioned. So if it currently only has one 4gb it'll be better to add another 4gb than to add the 8gb or replace the 4gb with the 8gb

      I had the same issue and eventually got it out by applying a little force at a time and there was a metal plate that came from somewhere and not sure how it goes back in

    I bought and install teamgroup dd3l 16gb=8+8 and wd blue ssd. The problem is when i play videos on youtube are slow or when i do something is not too fast. Processor Intelcore i3 5005U 2.0 ghz dell 3558. I really dont know whats the problem
