Brett: I suck.

brett’s like an old man playing games with his grandson
wow way to oneshot him lmaoooo
He's an old soul
😁Yeah, and I'm like their 18th century ancestor, watching bemusedly from the afterlife...what's the....how do you.....but what are they DOING??? I'm an old soul in an old body.😕 I'll give it a like, though - because it's them.
@Minecraft Platinum Fireworks 😂
well, thats what the entire extra year on this earth does to you lol
Eddy like a typical gamers excuse: ”Im Laaagging”
Eddy’s “GLHF!” at the beginning had me feeling nostalgic 🥲
Lagging in rhythm games is vital tho
Lol
It’s either that or the controller’s fault.. “I pressed A, I did!” 😆
which means that makes eddy a gamer already
"I got lag bro!" "It's the internet!"
Eddy, 28, hates losing (again)
"yeah australian internet baby!"

Percussionists love this game because it still counts as 'practice'
When I first tried it was a nightmare. No notes so didn't know when to play. The drums feels different and it felt weird
You get used to it
no joke the practice of alternating left hand / right hand is quite useful, even for piano. It's also just good finger coordination exercise in either case
I fell in love with osumania because im a pianist
@@socringe2217 there's mythical game called "keyboardmania" using yamaha keyboard as controller
There are tons of arcades in Japan that have this game except there’s actual drums and it’s so fun
Sadly, a lot of those arcades are gone due to the pandemic
theres drum controllers too. I have the game on nintendo switch and I bought the drum controller just to play this game and its a lot of fun
@@h.c.6540 Like 3 of the 800,000 SEGAs in Japan went out of business.

When I first started playing Taiko, I was like: "Yeah this gonna be like any other rhythm game." *Jumps to hardest difficulty.
Boy was I wrong.
I can’t play above 7⭐️ difficulty in Extreme mode.
Maybe someday…
where do you even play taiko
@@brighton2477 I'd say that your best option nowadays is to play the taiko mode in osu! That's if you're on PC. If you have a console and the taiko drums, you can buy the Taiko no Tatsujin game.
@@AnonX32 the taiko mode in osu is garbage get it on switch or emulate it
@@ilyrich Honestly, I wouldn't say so mate. So much so that several japanese hardcore TnT players are monsters in osu, and Japan has been the world champion in o!twc for the past decade or so. You can find a lot of trash there, of course, since the maps are made by the community, but I'd say it's one of your best and least troublesome options if you wanna play taiko on PC
I think after all of these games they play, we can all just agree that Eddy has fast reflexes and thats it.
or he just play games more than Brett (and practice less)
And he's much more competitive
Taiko no Tatsujin is a game that need a lot of learning, from just sight reading, two-hand drumming to rolling. Fully mastering the game can take years of practicing in the arcade. That's why I see it as probably the best all of rhythm games.
I could never understand how some ppl play horizontallyy
That's like, most rhythm games though. IIDX, Sound Voltex, Pop'n Music, DDR, etc... They all take years to master.
@@flutterhymen2644 @Flutterhymen Yes, most rhythm game take years of practice (I have play quite a bit of them and most did take me years to get good at), but most of the basics are learned from the start, like touching the falling note and sight reading, which are also usually more intuitive than taiko. What's left is usually your reaction time and endurance. However I just think that taiko has a bit more depth just from its design, being akin to learning how to play an instrument and reading sheet music, and thus more skills are needed to get to the next level.
Though I may be biased as I like playing instruments, and comparing these two different things may not be fair.
@@pattun4244 Falling notes are just way more intuitive, I guess.
It's also a game that is 100% harder to play if you're not using the Taiko.
These games are part rhythm, part pattern recognition, and part memorization. I played so much Dance Dance Revolution back in the day.
DDR-like games are almost pure pattern recognition tho, in most of them you can disable scroll speed scaling with bpm change so you can play them with pure reading unlike taiko
@@NewbieFirst its kinda ironic u say that since DDR is also one of the games that you cant turn off bpm scaling xD
Oh my God, their gaming-nicknames are absolutely hilarious, I love them 😂
*violaking* and *Katsu-chan* 😂
I think Katsu-Chan is the default second player name

P.S. Anyone noticed that in the last week we've been plagued by different sex channels who copy others' comments and post them randomly.
@@wakingtheworld yep its really annoying
That's awesome! Yes thanks to them I decided to take up singing again (not in choir anymore but they motivated me to practice sight-reading again)
I dont have a favorite between them but when it comes to games I unconsciously cheer for Brett more 😅
Lol me too🙊
eddy is visibly more experienced in taiko gaming mech - from a taiko no taisujin veteran
Same lol😅😅🤣
I think I do that too lol 😅
Ye me too, I think it’s just because he loses more and it’s not fun to root for Eddy cause he always wins
Me: fully expecting them to go to the classical section
Eddy: Let's start with anime
Edit: wow the classical section got so small now. I played a lot the Wii and NDS Taiko games and there use to be a lot more classical music
How dare they not do Aozora no rhapsody
yeah the taiko wii games had way more classic songs. but sadly the classical category has gotten smaller over the years
@@WillitDoesMusic yeah :/ at least the switch one has a lot of classical but it's dlc so you have to pay for it

yall are making me remember how much i miss playing this in the arcade- lockdown pls end soon TT
As a former taiko player, this game taught me more rhythm than proper form. Being good on rhythm is a big deal, but having a good form is necessary so performers don't look awkward. When you hit the drum skin (in red) we call it "don" and the side part (in blue) "ka". It's important to know form, rhythm, the basics of the different drums, how to play them, and maintain them. Smaller drums (which have higher pitch) are called shime daiko, middle sized drums are chu daiko, and large drums are odaiko. I helped fix some of the drums, which is super fun and also dangerous when stretching the skin. One of the things I found interesting about taiko is knowing how strong you can be and actually wear out the bachi (sticks used to beat the drum) which they eventually break. I broke 2 or 3 sets of bachi in my taiko years and we actually used them as a sample with a hole in the drum skin for our fundraiser to help us buy more chudaiko (and it worked lol!).
Thanks for covering taiko TwoSet! I've always wanted to see how you would bring about this percussion instrument. XD

I noticed you guys really like Kaikaikitan (Jujutsu Kaisen op song) by Eve, so you guys should really check out his other songs too! They're all really great to listen to. And of course when you're at it, you can also try checking out some of the other utaites like Mafumafu, Soraru, Amatsuki, Sou, etc. I just love how these singers are really unique in their own ways (with their voices and the way they sing). We must have classical musicians try to play progressive metal. Tempo is basically non existent there.

This games brings me nothing but pure rage.
Both are still little boys at heart ❤️ Charming!
Eddie is Violaking (quelle suprise) and Brett is Katsu-chan. Heheh.
Hehe quelle surprise ey

I don’t know if to be excited or worried over how y’all will do
Finally!! I always wanted you guys to play taiko!!
6:16 "let's goo i wanna die" big mood
Such an emotional moment to see you guy’s playing my favorite game!
the game actually has two scoring! the default awards points based on combo size, competitive taiko players switch to the other scoring mode which is based on accuracy
also tip for eddy, if the sounds dont match with your input, you can change the sync in settings!
Beethoven Virus and any rendition of Canon in D are mandatory in every music game
bruh imagine them playing Project Diva by Crypton... Vocaloid rhythm game+visuals= fun!
6:42 *what Brett has in mind : "this is more difficult than paganini"*
Looks like Brett lost the round of Scissors, Paper, Rock that determined who had to sit out in the garage. 😆
Did anyone notice that B&E had the exact same combo for almost 20 seconds!!!! Same brain cell for sure
This reminds me of my childhood. This game is a huge part of almost every Japanese childhood ever. We have this game at almost every gaming center.
As a half-Japanese person, I can confirm that Taiko no Tatsujin was part of my childhood as well :)
I feel so powerful now that I can watch TwoSet after practicsing~no one
"We are a classical music channel (with two classical musicians trying their best to show that they are not snob)"
Can we just appreciate how eddy just casually got a full combo on the last song
TwoSet is a classical, react, gaming, and bubble tea channel all in one.
taiko is so intuitive that even first-timers can find it fun
it gets hard as you progress but still fun and intuitive
that's what's make a good game :)
when they play, my finger touches the screen like playing for no apparent reason
As A person who routinely plays Extreme 10-star songs and made a few extreme 10-star scores myself, it is time for me to evaluate their performance.
Every single time I watch y'alls videos it reawakens my appreciation for classical music, and music in general everything from classical to grindcore metal.
Even these silly games y'all make enjoyable and fun.
Also long live anime OSTs
Taiko no Tatsujin is my jam, I’ve got an A+ ranking in the competitive mode
This is the only time they'll willingly choose Blue Danube and Canon in D 😆
Even though Brett named himself "Katsu-chan", he did not "katsu" the game :(
For context: "katsu" means " to win" in Japanese (correct me if I'm wrong)
Nah, the name doesn't use that kanji. It just refers to the sound to make while playing the taiko
No you're right, katsu means to win so your joke works!! GG!
I thought it was the food! Since he later said katsu chicken😂
@@Multijugos It can be the food too, it's written in katakana so it can either mean the sound (hence ka and don on the drums) or "cutlet"
Katsu-chan is the default name lol, it's the name of the drum he's playing as
I have legitimately been playing this the past few days. This was so exciting to see uploaded today.
This video was made 1 year ago today. Happy birthday
Clearly Katsu-chan is practising violin 40 hours a day while Violaking is practising Taiko.
this vid made me feel insanely good about my taiko no tatsujin skills, but i've been playing it super often for the past 6 months
Lag huh? A true rhythm gamer would say "my offset is all wrong"
The only thing that vid shows is that Brett actually spends his time practising and Eddy is gaming too much.
"Here come the excuses" Lmaaoo Eddy😂🔥
I like how eddy is ‘Violaking’ and brett is just
*’Katsu-chan’*
why is this so entertaining? i literally never play game
it’s the bright, vivid colors and satisfying repetition of cutesy animations in time with some catchy anime beats that is firing that dopamine into my nerve receptors, not too unlike from taking a hit lol but if Japanese game developers know one thing they have it down pat how to trip our addiction sensors, I’m a prime example as I’ve been hooked on Nintendo games as a child and I still haven’t grown tired of Pokémon lol
Brett's background is bringing back memories

I had Taiko no Tatsujiin on the PS2 and I got it again on Switch. The nostalgia hit me hard....
Glad to see Taiko no Tatsujin getting more attention. It's my favourite game of all time!
Eddy, there's a calibration option in the settings to make sure your notes match up to what's shown on screen. It's likely the input lag of your screen.
theres a game called one hand clapping where you have to use your voice to control your character, with different pitches doing certain things, maybe you guys could try it with your violins?
