As someone that has worked at a gun store for about two years now, guns are pretty easy to take apart and put together. As long as it's supervised to make sure its put back together right, theres no problem with taking it apart. In humid states, it's good to make sure the internals aren't rusting, and there's no excessive ware on used guns.

I know you shouldn’t do it. But I would suggest it in some cases. My friend who dosent know too much about guns. Bought one that he thought was brand new. But they just took a lightly used Glock and put a new barrel in it.
