I love Deacon Blue my favourite band ever Raintown Dignity Chocolate Girl Fergus sings the blues so many hits Ricky and Lorraine still look amazing been to see them many times.
Unlike a lot of 80s bands, they can still sing live.

always reminds me of the west coast of Scotland, just a very emotional song for me about home. its just indescribable how much emotion this song evokes. I guess thats magic key to all great songs
Saw these guys in Birmingham in 89 or 88.... just amazing live and recorded.. they also have done a really good great whisky.😂

Born and raised in Glasgow, I moved abroad in 1982 and later discovered Deacon Blue when my brother gave me Raintown as a Christmas present. It's one of my favourite albums that always makes me nostalgic. I think the songs and musicians are great but Lorraine's contribution -so original and inspired- takes them to the next level and gives the band its musical edge. Love you all. Thank you so much for helping to keep me Scottish!

Deacon blue is an amazing band , who many people don't realise had many hits and at one time competed with the very best, knocking Madonna off the top of the charts. Dignity, chocolate girl, real gone kid, loaded, when will you make my phone ring were all really big hits in the UK and they did well abraod aswell. Truly classy band and underated along with prefab sprout

Timeless. Both the song & the sound. A 'real' band that can sing & play instruments guitar & synth after 36 years since this songs release. Can Simon Cowell's Karaoke Singer Brigade that has wrecked the artistry in making music stand that test of time. No they are lucky to last 36 days until they disappear. He has a lot to answer for that man.
Deacon Blue, Ricky & Lorraine are a class act who have always been fabulous live. Still writing great songs. Legends in the true sense of the word. Cheers for the memories guys. I was 15 in 87, now 51
17 in 1987 now 53. Shocked! Raintown is one of my all time favourite albums. It stunned me in the summer of 1987 when I gorged on listening to it endlessly. It still holds up today as a great set of songs. Have you seen the SECC concert filmed over two nights in December 1989? It is on the singles DVD The Big Picture. Recommended.

Saw them live 2 years ago at hammersmith just unbelievable band.
I saw these live in 2014 at Manchester 02 Apollo. Went in with a voice came out without one. They were absolutely brilliant

Liked them but wasn’t a massive fan. A friend of mine took me to see them live at Barrowlands Glasgow in 1993. I was pleasantly surprised. Amazing live band. I went to see them again at Barrowlands in 1994 on their penultimate concert before they took a break for a few years. Fantastic.
