Deacon Blue's Lorraine McIntosh popped in to chat with Ken Bruce about her Golden Year (1982). Lorraine talks about what it was like growing up in the 1980s in Scotland as well as finding her for love for music. During Golden Years, she picks tracks from Bruce Springsteen, Simple Minds, Michael Jackson and more. We also hear more about Deacon Blue's first tour in 25 years as well as their new album!

Lorraine McIntosh's vocals complete the Deacon Blue sound. For anyone who has not seen it the SECC live performance filmed over two nights in December 1989 is one of the most exciting, accomplished live performances by a band recorded, in my view. It is on the CD/DVD singles collection The Bigger Picture. Communal singing at its best and sadly a bygone era.
She is gorgeous
A truly great live band. Deacon blue were so underrated.

Her voice blows you away! The depth she adds even on backing vocals is insane!!❤

She stayed at Cromlix Hotel near Dunblane when I worked there years ago. I saw her in reception and thought I recognised her but couldn't place from where, eventually I asked if she was the year above me at school!!!! Am total idiot 🙃 She said she worked in music.

Screeching nonsense. Joined Deacon Blue by hanging about at their gigs.
