    So, a little hack here. It is a lot easier to sew odd shaped patches to a smaller item. I cut a piece of square or rectangle material and sew the odd shaped patch to it. Then I sew the square/rectangle piece to the vest. I have a black vest, and I used forest green material to back the patch. Adds a little more color/contrast.

I have a few semi curvy patches, but the hardest one to do will definitely be my Municipal Waste patch. Remember rule number one, there are no rules ;). Some people do others don't. the one in the video is my buddies I made, it had no sleeves when he gave to me. My personal battle jacket still has them on. I prefer selves on because what the point of owning a jacket that doesn't keep you warm lol. Plus, keeps others dudes sweat off your arm when in the PIT. When I go to outside venues, really appreciate the sleeves during cold nights. But to each his own.

    question: is it true that you can only put bands that you’ve seen live in a battle jacket?? cause I didn’t get the chance to see many bands live yet and some of my favorite bands don’t even play live anymore :( also do they all have to be metal bands? cause I listen a lot to classic rock too

    • @insomniplier7063
      @insomniplier7063 Před 3 lety +1

      nah, it's basically just bands you like. the only reason it's mostly metal is because it's a "thing" from metal culture, but it's spread into punk, so you can basically put whatever you want on as long as you like em. remember rule one! no rules.

    Is it better to buy patches on concerts or on the internet? The selection ist not big at concerts and it is not cheap. Ich don‘t get to concerts very often, so I want to ask if its worth to buy it on concerts.

    • @MetalAndStoneYouTube
      @MetalAndStoneYouTube  Před 5 lety

      Definitely worth buying them at concerts because most of the time they are limited edition and are not even posted on the internet, plus its supporting the band. A lot of online ones, band receives no income because technically its a boot leg. With that said not against buying online, I've done myself cause cant find some patches anywhere else and the band might not even produce them. Basically, if you go to a show see a cool patch, buy it, it's gonna be more expensive honestly but worth it. Nothing wrong buying online, but would recommend checking out artists sites and see if they sell any directly from there, sometimes not always they sell left over merch, including patches.

    • @MetalAndStoneYouTube
      @MetalAndStoneYouTube  Před 5 lety

      They will get some cut buying off a label site, but buying directly off a artist site supports them the most. But just buy official merch and you know its supportive the band. Anywhere you see a cool one, buy it

      On this vest, cause it was all machine done ,like 2-3 hours. Takes about 5-10 minutes a patch. Squares and easy shapes go on fast. Circular and difficult shapes take more like 10-15 minutes. Hand sewing takes about double that.

    • @StarSCTEBunToaster
      @StarSCTEBunToaster Před 4 lety +1

      It depends on how much the jacket or patches cost, and if you need to buy things to sew with, for me I think my jacket was around 40 dollars to do so far, but I don’t have a lot of patches on it yet.

      It’s priceless. It’s a joy to sit and do it. It’s an expression of your love for the music, the scene, the people, the art, etc. All that aside. The material cost could be 100$ bucks or less. Maybe more.
