Considering going to Thailand in January for 3 months. Obvious flight in to bangkok, but I was considering just 5-7 nights there. I don't drink and will be on my own. I was then thinking maybe just booking a hotel in a paradisical location for the rest of the time and then using that as a hub to branch out. Is this a cost effective way or is this just madness? Without drinking I'm thinking it will be quite low cost besides the hotels and flights in. Any advice on whether my idea is a bad one or a good one is much appreciated. Also, with your experience if the hotel for 2.5 months is a good option, where would be the ideal location? I want to meet people but not bothered about partying too much.

I'm invited to visit the beaches near Pattaya , Thailand. (Krating Lai - Jomtien). I believe we'll be traveling there in Feb. 2024. I like to sail and wonder if you have any idea if & where I might be able to rent sailboats (27' - 35' cabin type) ?? What might I pay by day or overnight ?
Thanks for your generous consideration, love the video,
    God bless,
    Sincerely .....................

Thank you so much! I need to work after my A-levels so I want to calculate how long I need to. I always calculated about like 5000 because I didn't know much and I am afraid that I can't do anything I want with less money. So that video helps me with my anxiety ^^"
    For reference
I want to go 30 days and I am from Germany.
I don't really want to eat western food since I can get that always at home, but probably I'm going to eat it 2 or 3 times (just to calculate with that).
I don't really know where to sleep. I'm scared of bedbugs and so on, so I thirst calculated with hotels but they are so expensive...
Let's just say I eat about 5 euro (4,31 pounds) For every meal, I would need 15 euro (13 pounds) per day or did you meant that all three meals are 3 Pounds? Also I'm vegan so that's probably cost a bit more... (15*30=450€, 387£)
So let's just say I stay in a room which is around 25(22 pounds) euro for 29 days. That would be 725€ or 624 pounds.
    450+725=1175€ / 1012£
Activities...I'm almost scared of them. I want to do the Diving thing so I'm probably going to spend 350 euro (300 Pounds, 425 dollars ) on that, and then many more activities. I want to go in as much temple and caves as I can, and on markets and everything else. I newer was in another country besides Switzerland (and of course Germany). So I think like.. 30 euro daytrips (25 pounds , 39 dollar) so let's say I do those for like 25 days (because I rather calculate more) that would be 750 euros or 646 pounds. The temples cost around Pounds, that's 6 euros but I would rather calculate with 7-8 euros. So 20 temples would cost me around 150 euros or 130 pounds.
    350+750+150= 1250€ / 1076£
    (1175+1250= 2425€ or 2088£)
That's without traffic and buying stuff. For traffic I would calculate 250€ (215£) just to be safe. And for buying other stuff I would like to have also around 200 euros(173£) budget because I love buying souvenirs (won't use 200 probably but its better to calculate with more than less)
    So 2425€ + 255 + 200= 2875€ / 2476£
    To add:
I need a fligh (sadly they are expansive when I look now, around 600 euros or more to Malaysia and than for like 60-90 euros to Bangkok) so let's say 750 euros to have a bit more calculated (hopefully) (650£, normal flight. Nothing with premium or something)
Then I need a backpack, I guess they are around 100-250 euros let's go with a 250 euro (215£ ) backpack. Then I camera would be nice, they are very expensive so I won't calculate it within here.
    750+250= 1000€ (861£)
    2875+1000 = 3875€ / 3337£ / 4706$
To add there, I need stuff for my backpack. Mini bags for clothes and hygiene products, suncreme, creme, mosquito spreay and medice. Thankfully I don't use make-up or anything like that but this bags costs much and medicine too so maybe 200€ ? I am really bad at estimating prices... But of course there is more that I just listet so that should be right.
    Let's say 4100€ / 3531£ / 4979$
    ...that's way to much.
How do you get on so cheap prices without having a anxiety attack that your going to starve or missing out ? Help I don't have any travel experience..
