Everything you said about the connection between trauma + scarcity and van life makes a lot of sense. I also think CZcamsrs feel a lot of pressure to box themselves into making a specific kind of content in order to gain an audience. But it sounds like the way you've reimagined your schedule is much more aligned with your priorities and your health. I'm here for it and however else you decide to show up 🙌
Also, I'm SO EXCITED to see your puzzles!

Puzzles with Purpose! That sounds intriguing. And by the way you lit up it looks like it's your passion. Go for it!

Hi Cyn! I just watched this video and boy can I relate! First of all I’d like to say that i think your van decor is really cute!
Im also an artist and have dreamed and schemed about being able to have a van to travel to art shows. I usually do 3 day juried shows within 3 hours of home but Id love to be able to do several weekend shows in a row farther away. Hopefully getting my first van tomorrow so let the journey begin!😁
I completely understand your need to get into your creative headspace.
For me, being able to stand and having lots of windows was critical. I also need to love the layout and decor or i cant function🤣
Hope you can find a way to make that happen with your studio on wheels and perhaps meet you somewhere along the way!

Hi! Thanks for your comment. So exciting about your van! It will definitely open up show opportunities for you.
As for mine, I think me and the minivan will travel and I'll be able to do some shooting, but the brunt of the creation will happen at home. I'd love a full-sized rig, but that has to be down the road while I'm getting my business going. Visualizing a full-size, electric luxury art studio on wheels, and in the mean time, balancing work with travel like everybody else :)
Happy travels to you! Let me know if you start posting content, and I'll follow along.

Your setup is BEAUTIFUL and it's perfect for weekend trips, or even week long trips, but I can see why you struggled with living in it full-time. You could have way more storage than you have, at least 100% more, and your layout isn't really practical. Your build is really, really cute but not very functional.
There are minivan camping kits that I think would serve your needs better. They have way more storage than you have now. Talking to people who are actually living in their minivans, SUVs, and cars full time would have helped you a lot. There are minivan camping and car camping Facebook groups. The vanlife groups are also pretty good. I honestly would not recommend CZcams as a primary resource for van life. For the most part, nobody gets real about the challenges. I completely adore living in my minivan, to the point where I have rented out my house for years to live and travel in my minivan, but it is a challenging lifestyle and there is a huge learning curve. Two months isn't even scratching the surface. That being said, I'm glad you know living in 4 walls and traveling works for you. We all need to dance to the music we hear in our own souls.

Yeah, I never had any desire or intention to live in the van, just travel around with my dog. I had hoped to be able to work more from the road, but since I started my art business, I don’t have time to be away that much anyway (yep, lots have changed in the past six months, haha). And I did talk to several ft vanlifers. I wanted the experience of doing the build, to see if I could (I’d never built anything before). No regrets. It’s been fun, and I’ve learned a lot. Great camper for weekend trips, which is all I need now anyway.
Thanks so much for your comment. Happy you’re at home in your mini. Safe travels!

Won't you get a little trailer to pull behind you . And you can have an art station .

I really love that idea, thanks. Not in the budget right now, and I’m not sure about the towing capacity of my minivan, but good to think about.
