    Welcome to today’s video on angles. These questions are actually really simple, but they get tricky as SAT puts two different types. You must know how to differentiate them in order to get them right. In this video, we will go over four things:
    1. What they LOOK LIKE & How to Recognize
    1. The questions will have two triangles, either next to each other or one inside the other. If so, SUPER HIGH chance that it’s a similar triangle question.
    2. What to know
    1. When is it similar - When two triangles have the same set of angles
    2. What it means - the side lengths are proportional
    3. What to KNOW about [two methods to solve them]
    1. Proportion - what to multiply/divide by in order to get the missing side lengths
    2. Ratio - Short-long Short-long method - [For hard questions]
    I hope you guys found the video helpful and I will see you on the next one! If you have any questions or comments or concerns, leave them in the comment box down below.
    Thanks for watching and good luck prepping!

    The biggest tip that i can give you on the second question is that triangle BED is congruent to triangle BAC. If you struggle to understand this, then draw the two different triangles seperately. Let's all do good in SAT. I am still learning.

    question? How did you get +5 in the last question where it was 10DE+5

    • @melodiesbysophia
      @melodiesbysophia Před 11 měsíci

      Remember, AC = 2DE + 1 as given in the prompt. We have the ratio DE/AC = BE/AB. If BE/AB=5/12, then DE/AC=5/12. But where do we get DE? Well, we know that AC=2DE+1, so plug in 2DE+1 for AC. DE/(2DE+1)=5/12. Cross multiply. 12DE = 5(2DE+1) --> 12DE = 10DE + 5 --> 2DE = 5 --> DE = 5/2
      So to answer your question, the +5 comes from the distributive property.

    One thing that bothered me is that I took a practice maths section yesterday practice test 2 to be precise just the maths section and I scored a 640. That’s a good score but I want an 800 and having finished 16/28 chapters of the college panda book by that time I expected 700s but hopefully when I finish the book and take practice test 4 I get 700s since that will push me to be like oh I get this since I honestly do but silly mistakes and such and having a lot of resources to work through personally I wanna do things efficiently but in minimum time possible.

    • @JohnSAT
      @JohnSAT  Před 3 lety

      if you are seeing improvements, you are going the right way. For the remainder of the chapters, you should finish them. It's better to be knowledgeable of everything tested on the SAT.
      Not sure what grade you are in, but you want to finish them as soon as possible so you can spend more time on practices.
