Welcome to today’s video on angles. These questions are actually really simple, but they get tricky as SAT puts two different types. You must know how to differentiate them in order to get them right. In this video, we will go over four things:
1. What they LOOK LIKE & How to Recognize
1. The questions will have two triangles, either next to each other or one inside the other. If so, SUPER HIGH chance that it’s a similar triangle question.
2. What to know
1. When is it similar - When two triangles have the same set of angles
2. What it means - the side lengths are proportional
3. What to KNOW about [two methods to solve them]
1. Proportion - what to multiply/divide by in order to get the missing side lengths
2. Ratio - Short-long Short-long method - [For hard questions]
I hope you guys found the video helpful and I will see you on the next one! If you have any questions or comments or concerns, leave them in the comment box down below.
Thanks for watching and good luck prepping!

4:05 that cloth change scared me lol i jumped out from my chair
This was the final push for me to learn the Similarity Theorem! Thanks dude. Keep up the good job!
The biggest tip that i can give you on the second question is that triangle BED is congruent to triangle BAC. If you struggle to understand this, then draw the two different triangles seperately. Let's all do good in SAT. I am still learning.
Good point! Thanks for sharing
@@JohnSAT you are the best teacher ever!
hey, how much did you score ?
@@Xerox3737 1150, that is because i got lazy. i am going to study hard over the summer.

@@Blvckblvck222 we'll never know😞

Glad it was helpful! keep focusing on understanding and you will be well on your way to your target score!
I didnt get it the first time then I tried doing it myself then I understood the S/L. Wow its gonna be a life saver haha
Thank you!!!
bro saved me with this vid 🙏
Where can I find the corresponding worksheet?
U did this video thank u so muchhh broooooo
I gotchu bro - hope they were helpful
thank you
thanks
release other triangle videos please
Can you make a video about volumes
thank you so muchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
thank you a looooooooooooooooooooooot
8:12 it would save you more time if you just subtract 29 from 21 and then divide by 4.
That's literally what he did. Just visualized differently
video on the volume chapter needed
Roger that
question? How did you get +5 in the last question where it was 10DE+5
Remember, AC = 2DE + 1 as given in the prompt. We have the ratio DE/AC = BE/AB. If BE/AB=5/12, then DE/AC=5/12. But where do we get DE? Well, we know that AC=2DE+1, so plug in 2DE+1 for AC. DE/(2DE+1)=5/12. Cross multiply. 12DE = 5(2DE+1) --> 12DE = 10DE + 5 --> 2DE = 5 --> DE = 5/2
So to answer your question, the +5 comes from the distributive property.
16:00 smartest move I've ever seen
On Your Chanel are you going to go over all of the 24 topics?
Will try my best, but it's going to take some time
@@JohnSAT No worries. I appreciate your Chanel.
when are the other triangle videos coming out????????
btw thank you so much for the videos there are SUPER helpful
Can someone please tell me where is the +5 coming from? Shouldn’t it be +1?
how can i master triangle questions? keep doing different ones over and over again? pls help.
REALLY understand the concept, and do more practice questions.
@@JohnSAT woah u responded fast lol. I'm at a 720-750 in math rn, what can i do to get a quick boost?
@@bestmoments5877 No quick boost for your score range - here's what you should do until your next exam

excuse me do you teach english a want to level up my english scores too. i've got all the grammar rules and stuff but still in the 600 range somehow.
same here
i am still confused on why you did 5/12. great vid!
Thanks! Time stamp?
@@JohnSAT 14:37 i know u explained it in the video but im still confused
@@anushka1306 Got it, can you be more specific on what about it you don't understand?
5 is the adjacent of the small triangle and 12 is adjacent of the larger one. Confusing at first but watched a second time and zoomed back in.
One thing that bothered me is that I took a practice maths section yesterday practice test 2 to be precise just the maths section and I scored a 640. That’s a good score but I want an 800 and having finished 16/28 chapters of the college panda book by that time I expected 700s but hopefully when I finish the book and take practice test 4 I get 700s since that will push me to be like oh I get this since I honestly do but silly mistakes and such and having a lot of resources to work through personally I wanna do things efficiently but in minimum time possible.
if you are seeing improvements, you are going the right way. For the remainder of the chapters, you should finish them. It's better to be knowledgeable of everything tested on the SAT.
Not sure what grade you are in, but you want to finish them as soon as possible so you can spend more time on practices.
John Jung - The Admission Hackers gonna be a senior I know I can do extremely well but I haven’t hit my stride yet that’s all.
