    Thank you Liz. Very informative for someone whose finally realizing their dream. I’ve been waiting many years to fly an archer. I’ll probably forget but I gotta write down a memo to email you when I’m not afraid to solo after 50 hrs. My instructor Krystene is awesome so the fact that I’m in good hands help. And with that, goodnight good day and a Truman show good morning CZcams community 😊 -mamba out

    Also use a flashlight and check for separation or oil leakage around the head of each cylinder.

    While you checking the stall warning (aka "summoning the stall lady") - it's also a good opportunity to feel the pitot mast to make sure it's warm and heat is actually working :-)

    What a treat! This showed me some details I did not previously know. I have a Cherokee 140 and have to uncover one side of the engine to check it. That allows me to eyeball hoses, cables, etc. Is this NOT part of the preflight for the Archer? Just wondering. Thanks!

    Great video ty! I’m getting my next rating in this plane and wanted a heads up on the preflight! Very very detailed! So with piper, you don’t dip the fuel tank? It’s just a visual inspection…. No fuel dips stick? Thanks and be safe

    • @indian-he3ms
      @indian-he3ms Před 7 měsíci

      I can speak for the operations at my school, we don't dip because we're always full so we visually inspect that we're full and confirm the same with the fuel quantity indications. At first I was skeptical because I came from flying a 172 with analog fuel gauges so we dipped the tanks to get an accurate reading of fuel.

    Hi LIz. Some Piper Archers have a ribbon that says check before flight, hanging from under the wings. Is that where you check for fuel contamination from water?

    Do you ever spill any fuel on your hands while taking samples? Especially the nose sump?

  • @badguy1941
    @badguy1941 Před měsícem

    Don’t you have to dump the nose 2 times and change the fuel selector?

    Everyone seems to see a great aircraft with awesome glass panel, in picture-perfect condition. All I see is tens of thousands of dollars a student doesn't have that training in this airplane will cost them. One could have easily gotten their private in a old shabby Cessna 150 for fraction of the price.

      A sad statement, but true... These fancy new electronics cost way more than they should. But, you can barely fly IFR anymore without them.

    ... the girls have the POH and weight and balance sheet ... nice. So, the TX ... has the most of the switches at the right position, above ... very helpful. The only mistery is - are the leg brakes above the rudders, as with the Archer 3 edition, and how sensitive :).

    Basically a fine training aircraft. But why in the hell is any aircraft manufacturer in 2024 selling an airplane with only one damn door and an antiquated flap bar?
    Come on Piper!
