Episode 2 of this trip: • Inca Trail Thru Hike E...
Join me, my wife Hannah, and two of her best friends Jordan and Audrey as well travel thousands of miles to South America to thru hike the Inca Trail! This was my first time out of North America, and the cultural and geographical differences in Peru were mind blowing. It was such a treat getting to explore Cusco for a couple days before our hike began.
This was our third full day on the Inca Trail, travelling from the Picaymayu Valley to a campsite near the Wiñay Wayna ruins.
This day was arguably the most amazing of the entire trek, for we saw the most archeological sites, including Runcuracay, Sayacmarca, Phuyupatamarca, and Intipata. The mountain vistas were some of the most dramatic and spectacular of the trip, as well.
Be sure to subscribe to my CZcams channel to stick around for the remainder of the episodes as we head through the Andes to Machu Picchu!

What a “room with a view “ ☺️with camping nestled between the mts. I’m amazed at how the Incas built all those rock walls and structures with nothing but man power. The way you filmed the mts I felt like I could reach out and touch them. Amazing to say the least ! Love you ! So ramped up to see Machu Picchu😊

Definitely one of the most scenic campsite I have ever stayed at! The Inca People were some of the best builders in the world, they rival the Egyptains easily! Thanks for watching Mom! Excited to share the finale!

0:30 This is why you stick with it. A gorgeous view, beautiful breakfast, and good health! What a turnaround, and what a way to start a day. The rewards of the trail.
2:30 The chaskis sound kind of like ancient backpackers, haha. You probably felt like you were one of them while you rested here for a moment. Too bad you didn’t have any cocoa leaves to chew.
5:05 Just imagine living here and waking up to this view every day. And you probably wouldn’t have to worry too much about your enemies. Ain’t no way I’m attacking a place like this.
5:55 Wow! This tree is like a whole forest unto itself.
6:15 So many fascinating plants that I can’t identify. Many of these don’t even begin to resemble the plants we’re familiar with.
7:40 Great depth in this shot, especially with that dark ridge in the foreground.
    8:10 Best lunch break ever?
9:50 I’m shocked to find out that this still functions. What an amazing piece of engineering. It’s too bad you couldn’t have taken one of those ceremonial baths! It’s cool that you were able to see quite a few other ruin sites aside from Machu Picchu. I would have assumed that it was “just” a long trek through the mountains with the single site at the end. But it seems like you were exploring something amazing every several hours.
11:07 Incredible sun rays piercing through the clouds and illuminating the mountainside here. This is one of the best shots in the series.
12:00 It looks like they were successful in using as much land as possible. I’m blown away by the engineering of these places. And the beauty, of course.
12:40 Is that your trail on the middle right-hand side of the shot??
13:00 This is such a cool idea for a shot, and I’m probably going to steal it 😁
14:15 What a ridiculously cool campsite, on those terraces, with that view. Beats the ol’ hog barn, doesn’t it?
14:30 Wasn’t somebody asking for popcorn a while back? Haha
15:45 Ayahuasca, you say? Did you know that there’s a place in Kentucky where you can legally use ayahuasca?
16:20 There’s some spicy stuff in these bloopers! 👽👽
    16:35 TWSS 😎
    17:17 CZcams noobs! 🤣
I can see why you said this was the best day yet. It was packed with incredible plants, animals, ruins, and views. This looks like it was a life-altering experience, and I'm glad you were able to experience it and share a little bit of it with us. On to the next!

0:30 That was some divine sleep, for sure. Waking up to those views with a mostly normal stomach was about as good as you could ask for in that situation.
2:30 Those chaskis all sounded like Jason Wish! Crazy that they would just run this route to deliver messages. People were built different back then.
5:05 Still baffles me how this empire ended so abruptly given their surrounding views and strategic location. I would never leave a place like this if I wanted peace and solitude!
5:55 I felt so far removed from Kentucky when passing trees like this haha. This is about the antithesis of a Kentucky tree lol
6:15 It honestly felt like I was on another world when passing these plants.
7:40 I love this shot, too! Those mountain ridges just like so spiney and skeleton like.
8:10 It definitely is in the top 5 for sure! Although the Trail Tribe has had some ridiculously good lunch spots together, too 😉
9:50 Getting to see all these other sites made getting to Macchu Picchu a little anticlimactic for us. We got to experience all of the authentic archaeology without all the people before we were inundated with tourists. I’m really glad they set it up like this.
11:07 It’s shots like these that make me *slightly* miss my RX100 haha. Hopefully I’ll be pleased with my HX99 Israel footage!
12:00 They were literal geniuses in their design and use of the mountain. The U.S. should take a page out of their book if available land to farm every gets at risk.
12:40 I think it is a “connecting” trail that can lead you up to the Main Incan Trail. No, thanks! That climb looks gross haha
13:00 Steal away! I know I have stolen from you in the past 😉
14:15 The only thing that could have made this campsite 1005 perfect would be not having the tents right above the bathhouses that were giving off some insane methane fumes while we were in our tents. That part stunk, literally.
14:30 Bwhahahaha Hannah and her popcorn. Always together!
15:45 ARE YOU SERIOUS ABOUT THIS? We need to have a discussion about this sometime.
      16:20 ANCIENT ASTRONAUT THEORISTS SUGGEST…..ALIENS
16:35 I missed that one! Thanks for pointing this easter egg out haha
17:17 I wish I had a sign on my chest that said “I’m taking a video, don’t wait up for me” so people don’t get so confused.
Thanks for this very kind Part 3 comment! On to the next!
