I first heard this melody sung in one of my favorite scenes in the film Dangerous Liaisons, and have heard other excellent versions, but I adore this setting, and her costume. But her voice? It just pours out of her like a golden liquid. So beautiful and restrained. A joy to hear.

Joyce Li yes you're right. For me the 2009 version is more candid, crystal clear. It is wonderful. Each one if it, but particularly this one.
David Steven Tabbat I think the male altos mentioned earlier have closer to a castrato sound. Bartoli's voice is rich and womanly.
