I know that place well. Last time I was up there it was white. Good seeing the colours again. Lucky you got great weather. Nice one bud.

What a good bike ride you guys done, I've walked all that before and it was great to see you out and make a video in my local area and I'm also glad to hear you both really enjoyed it. I heard you say at 8mins 45secs that you thought you were in Ayrshire? Well you were, all of your video was filmed in Ayrshire. The top 3rd of the Galloway Forest Park is in Ayrshire. Great video, I enjoyed watching it all. Atb Glenn.

South-West-Wilderness Cracking ride Glenn, it's up there as one of the best natural trails weve done. Roger was 50 on the day we did it, so what better way to celebrate. Ayrshire is beautiful...Well be back over there soon!

Brilliant, well done, that is exactly the route that I didn't know was within my limits but now I can't wait until next year, or maybe now. Have you done a joined up route from Loch Doon south to Loch Dee / Loch Trool? The OS map shows a break in the track.

Hi Peter, Brilliant route, you will enjoy this. They are always adding new forest roads to haul out the timber, but the OS map i have shows the break. We've not cycled from Loch Doon to Loch Dee. A route we have done is the Glentrool Big Country Route, another one i can recommend. This takes in Loch Dee & Loch Trool and is well waymarked, we did a vid check that one on our channel. Enjoy whenever you decide to tackle it...Happy cycling :)....Atb Roger & Diane

Yes Roger & Diane, the Glentrool Big Country Route is great, all the remote and wildness that the Borders is all about. I also did some exploring from Gatehouse of Fleet up to the Big Water of Fleet viaduct then up towards Clateringshaws but did a detour to Loch Grannoch Lodge, then up to the loch at the source of the Fleet, Loch Fleet then some interesting navigating. Great to be without mobile phone, though at 69 yrs old and always solo I think I might invest in a DeLorme satnav communication device. I'm exploring Newcastleton area now, shamed to admit that born and bred in Carlisle I never visited it before! ps I admit to getting an electric assist full suspension bike to replace my manual version last year. Not as manouverable but perfect for this type of country exploring, and never run out of battery yet!
