My 3 year old loved watching this.
He was so inspired that he went out to the garage, fired up the tablesaw and built a credenza.
Good for him!! ;)
@Taylor c Still poops himself though...
@@Iliketomakestuff Seriously though, as soon as he saw all the little Bobs in the shop, he yelled "KIDS!" and was instantly glued to the screen.
One thing has been evident in every episode of Making It Podcast and it’s been reinforced by this video... you’re an excellent father.
I really appreciate that, thank you.
I cannot think of anything like this that my dad taught me. I have way more tools than he did, but I just turned forty-one and never married, so I do not have any idea how to pass on everything that I have figured out on my own.
C T yep I was lucky enough to have a dad that taught me a lot of this but the “quiz” came when he said “go get x from the tool box” 😂
drippingwax I think Bob has shown us that CZcams is a great way to reach people! I bet you know a lot. If you’re keen to share your knowledge and passion, do it!
Biggest shop lesson I learn is... you are the softest thing in the shop. First day of learning to be a tool and die machinist. Everything is harder, sharper, stronger, and can hurt or kill you if you don’t respect it by learning how it works and how to use it. Had to watch coworker in a video get cough in a machine as it did the unspeakable to him and it is haunting every time I walk past it I can see it happening... he was good man and it should have never happened. Think before you do and remember hand tools do same job as power tools you are the power source for them.
Good class teacher
This is awesome and it demonstrates what great parents you and your wife are! As your children become adults they will look back on these times and cherish the memories! Have fun with your kids!
Good job with starting with the safety!
As a safety professional for the last 22 years, there are times when I just shake my head. Something so simple as safety glasses is overlooked too often.
I've been in construction a few years now, and you get sawdust and insulation in your eyes often, which is bothersome but it passes. But man, a few weeks back I got a little shaving in my eye, I don't even know if it stayed there or not, because the doctor couldn't find anything. But it managed to cut my eye somewhat, I was out of action the whole weekend. That was painful and also a little bit scary. I'm better at wearing eye protection now.
This is such a good idea! It fits well into the ILTMS pocket, and brings younger makers into the fold. Kinda like Kid Bits! Love it!
I love this. The world needs more shop classes for children. Not only was it fun and informative, it was clear to understand. Great job, Bob. Looking forward to the rest of these videos.
Thank you!!
Hey Bob! I’m a 6-8 grade technology teacher. (Woodshop, Design and Modeling, Robotics) I use your videos for inspiration with my students all the time! This is so awesome that now I can incorporate you into my vital shop lessons as well! Thank you so much! I am doing the same thing with my daughter. So much fun!
That's fantastic to hear Thomas!! Thank you! As a teacher, if you have suggestions.. I'm open to hear them!!
I Like To Make Stuff what is the best way to do that? I have always wanted to do an online class for my students to access when ever they wanted so I have plenty of ideas and 15 years of exp with students 10-18.

This.Is.AWESOME!! I remembered I had some pre-prepped HD kid build projects and this was an great way to prep the kiddos (I have a 6 year old and a cognitively challenged 11 year old). Thank you for thinking outside the box in these unusual times. ❤️
First time I got a 100% on a test let’s go
Great job :)

This is a brilliant-idea that I can see becoming a huge-thing.
I always enjoy shop class.
Hey Bob even though I'm 20 I still enjoyed watching this video and think this style of video is a really good way to get younger people interested in going to the shed and learning new things.
Just sent this to my sister in law for my nephew who has developmental disabilities I think this will be awesome for him! Thanks for all you are doing, also I'm pretty sure she subscribed so she can get all the future shop classes!
Thanks Bob, definitely going to use this with my grandkids this weekend!

You’ve taught me more in a day than what my actual shop class teacher taught me
Thank you, Bob. This was a fantastic video. My family loved it. We’re long-time subscribers.

This. Is. Awesome!
Wonderful! Looking forward to more!
Brilliant idea bob. I think you should keep doing more of this after the crisis I'd over with.
Wooow completely lovin it. I have a two years old, constantly I'm thinking bout how to teach him to use real tools in the future. Like Mandalorian say "this is the way"
This is the way.
Excellent video Bob with the big take away being "Safty First"....... 👍👍😉😉
Always!
Great idea during these times to get the kiddos involved. My boy’s only 2 weeks, otherwise we’d be watching together. ;) thanks Bob!
Thanks for putting this out there Bob and Co. I like the pace. Keep on.
Thanks, will do!
I love this Bob. Thank You! I will definitely use this with my grandkids an the local scouts I work with.
This was wonderful! It brought back so many memories of my dad teaching me the same things 50 years ago! It is so important to teach the kidos these (life) skills.
Thanks Team!!
Loved this!

Workshop classes! Great video!
Glad you like them!
Alright...more of this...please 🙋🙋
I do love your initiative.
I don't have anymore children at home and I'm just became grandfather.
I was about to sent the links to my neibourg who has 3 young children and who is suffuring from the actual "stay at home" (don't know english word).
But he don't speak English.
Take Care... from France.
Love the idea. Yes I am already experienced In the workshop, but it was really nice to re visit the basics. I know that I will be turning in loads even though I’m an adult 😂.
That's great to hear! I hope it's useful!
What an awesome idea!
Awesome! This also great to tuck in a few simple math concepts as well (addition, subtraction, fractions, & even geometry). If you have kids who are not motivated in math, sometimes hands-on applications really help.
Also.... Clamp Champ 😁
Great idea and video! And I had to take the quiz too!!
You're frickin awesome!
Awesome idea. I don't have kids but this is an awesome idea. Can't wait to share this with friends that have kids. Keep it going.
Andy Beshear will be proud of you!
This video is a great idea. Although most of your subscribers probably know all of this, it will give them a chance to include the young ones. Oh, and nice looking family! Thanks Bob.
Love this. Keep them coming!
Okay, this is the best idea ever! Thanks Bob and fam!
Great idea to give younger kids a great little explanation of some of the tools! If your kids use this in the future or not, they will have memories of it! Thanks for sharing!
This is amazing. Thank you for this!!
Glad you liked it!
Excellent video, much appreciated.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful Family! may you be all healthy and strong , these days
Mate...This was great! Please keep these going.
Awesome stuff Bob! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Thanks 👍
Love the concept. I was just thinking today that I needed a lock on my shop... There is one there now! Better safe than sorry with my kids being almost 5 and 3.
My oldest son is just now old enough for "some" shop lessons. He'll be 5 next month, and I want to start teaching him at a young age.
Can i just say that you are awesome! I have spoken!
Wow, thank you!
This is a great idea. Loving it please keep this up
This is great. I am actually a shop teacher in Canada but I guess the US is hit or miss.
Great job Bob! my young boys are gonna love this series
That's a really nice idea Bob, thanks a lot, unfortunately i'm french and my kid is only 3yo, but you inspired me and i'm going to try something like that at home ! Keep going !
