  • Disney Star Wars: The Acolyte Viewership TANKS | HOUSE OF THE DRAGON Set to DESTROY It In Ratings on Sunday Season 2 Premiere THIS WEEK | The Acolyte brings 25% LOWER views than Ahsoka | Entertainment News | Stock Market News $DIS
How did Kathleen Kennedy, Leslye Headland, Lucasfilm, and the Walt Disney Company SPEND MORE than TWICE AS MUCH to produce THE ACOLYTE as Warner Bros did on GAME OF THRONES prequel, HOUSE OF THE DRAGON?
One might call it criminally stupid and horrible mismanagement to have created a major production like THE ACOLYTE under the biggest Hollywood intellectual property of all time , STAR WARS, and say "THIS is the best we could do at Disney" when nearly all their competition could have done far better.

🚨🚨🚨 ATTENTION FOLKS!!! I seemed to have dropped a CRITICAL CLIP during editing! My statement in the intro regarding THE ACOLYTE being ONE FIFTH the audience of HOUSE OF THE DRAGON is based on the fact that that while ACOLYTE is claiming 11M VIEWS GLOBALLY after nearly a week that is for TWO EPISODES!!!! HOUSE OF THE DRAGON Season 1 was pulling over 25 MILLION VIEWS PER EPISODE in THE UNITED STATES ALONE!!!!🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

Valiant...11 million views can be for both episodes? 11 million watched the first...then the second? Or is that 11/2 equals 5.5 per episode?

      It's horrible. The numbers
are absolutely trash with no excuses allowed. Fallout had a mainly female cast with 5+ women/women of color including the lead role with 2 of them being in a relationship in all the positions of power. Starwars acolyte is poorly written with predictable twist and storytelling. Nothing is a mystery in this so-called mystery as every single situation is explained in 5 to 10 minutes. Has more plot hole then a fishing net. You can't put it on men, or lgbtq+bashing. Fallout hadall that and even with the huge fear it was getting the TLJ treatment people overwhelmingly binge watched it. Fire Kk and LH. Its trash pouring out of a dumpster fire with those 2. No money made on a cash cow in 12+ years and everything they touch spoiled like milk in the sun. Hasbro went broke because they couldn't sell a single tlj toy in over a decade. You can represent and still write a good story. Fall out has shown us that and Leslie. Headlined and Kathleen Kennedy show us that they can not

Star Wars was like a fine meal served at your favorite restaurant.
A perfectly cooked steak, with a shot of Bourbon, or just a glass of soda, sure it had some buttery potatoes and a little salad, there was a little bit of everything a fine meal provides.
Then someone smothered the steak in chocolate frosting, poured a whole jar of rainbow sprinkles on it, replaced the drink with a spinach and soy milk smoothie.. then the same person who did it tells you that the way you like dinner is wrong and that from now on dinner will be like this.

A lot of the spiraling cost of these shows come from failures in management, principal photography is being filmed before the script is finished resulting in costly reshoots because the sections filmed are not usable. Disney has also moved to the scrapbooking technique, where a lot of scenes are filmed and then the movie is assembled in post production, requiring reshoots to build some kind of connective tissue between the scenes. All this is because of two key failures, executives are mandating production schedules without paying attention to the prepwork, and executives are demanding extensive reworking of the movies and shows while they are in the middle of production. These are failures of management, who will never be held accountable for their decisions.

Daaaaaaaammnnnnn, BRUTAL! I've loved SW for 38 years, the quote from Forbes sums it up perfectly for me.... "The only ground being broken by Disney, is at the cemetery where they bury our hopes and dreams" Magnifique! All I want is good stories, but it's clear all they want is to make the shows about their political agendas. I love diversity in shows, don't mind representation to some capacity that being, it's not only about that... if the show is exceptional I'm in... I just don't have time for shows that take you out of the universe into our one... not interested in your feelings, your experience in life, I want to be swept away to a place of awesomeness, not dragged down into the mud of boredom and mediocrity. I'm a lifelong fan and I'm out... no way I'm watching anymore of this show. I'll watch Andor season 2, then I'm out for good. SW is now officially dead to me! I'm out for good unless given good reason to return... I doubt that will ever happen with Kennedy steering towards the iceberg of virtue!!

210m minutes divided by, say 50min of run time is 4million views.
I don't divide by two for the 2 episodes because I've divided by 50 to cover the run time of the two episodes?

Netflix is streaming Godzilla Minus One this month. Unlike The Acolyte, the Godzilla movie is not a first-run attraction. Before going to Netflix, Godzilla Minus One completed a successful theater run; nonetheless, its first two weeks on Netflix scored over 30 million views. The first week of The Acolyte will not match the views received by Godzilla Minus One on Netflix. If The Acolyte's views drop precipitously this next week, then Headland's first-run TV series will have been beaten by a used Godzilla movie. That hardly speaks of success.

  • @snuzulose
    @snuzulose Před měsícem +1

With what Headland wrote, The Acolyte is going to be the nail that drives the rest of the fans away. I for one am done, been done since they ripped Finn's Jedi introduction away, and gave it to a Palpatine that should have been force blind in this generation of movies.

It seems like Disney owned IPs have been running way over budget for years and years. Where is all that over spending going? Into whose pockets is the money going? Are people like Iger and Kennedy getting a piece of every project budget? Are there people not on the books getting a piece? Something doesn't read right there. If other entertainment companies can bring their productions in under-budget (with more success), why can't Disney?

When it comes to Disney Plus- EVERYTHING IS "THE BIGGEST SHOW EVER" & yet all the drama that actually goes on in Disney that we get to see & hear is infinitly MORE entertaining than the trash they release.
THAT'S the REAL entertainment coming out of Disney today..
It never ceases to amaze me how much money they can spend on shows and yet the end results are worse than garbage.
I have seen stage plays that are more entertaining & better had better props & costumes

Is that 180 million with or without the tax credits from the UK? Did HOTD have tax credits too? And Acolyte's marketing has to be added. And so does HOTD's marketing, especially hanging banners on US tourist sites. But even if HOTD gets nearer to Disney's budget/cost numbers, no matter, because HOTD is a much better show and you get your money's worth with hour long episodes. Good analysis.
