I took mine to a local computer shop looked like a Best Buy but wasn’t,paid $9 for the labor and a few bucks for the capacitors.Just call around computer shops and see if they have anyone who does circuit board repairs

May want to add that be sure to orient the capacitors in the same direction (the negative stripe lead) :)

Nice! I had to replace the computer in my dad's 97 Dodge, but I still have the old one. Maybe this trick may work for it.

Inspected mine when I had to replace my heater core, checked all the areas you outlined, read some things out on the old websites on it. Good video bringing awareness to yet another Foxbody Gremlin

Radio Shack ? You are lucky to have one around the last one around here closed down about 3 or 4 years ago. But any good electonics supply dealer can supply all the components that You would need. Great content 👍

@@AwakeDude911this summer I was in upper NY state for a car show when i found out my camera memory card was faulty. I was out in Amish country and folks said, "go down the road to the Radio Shack..." and i thought, well, it is Amish Country, so maybe...
turned out the old Radio Shack was now a Verizon store--and a customer had just turned in a still-in-box memory card that Verizon wasn't going to give credit for, so the manager let me have it for free (major thanks, dude!).
but yeah, i remember when there was Radio Shack AND the Heath catalog for finding your electronic needs. now it's Christmas time and would be nice to drop into a RS and see what they had for remote control. those days are gone...

Just pulled my Computer out and sure enough my fuel pump capacitor is fried. 59 cents later she runs again. Replaced fuel filter and pump. Nothing. It was the capacitor. Thanks Neo. You brought my shitbox back to life. Didnt drive it all summer over this. 😔

I had a Obd 1 scanner burn my computer, man it took me MONTHS!! To find out it was the capacitors we’re burnt. The reason I found out was that I had a check engine light on my other fox and i heard something burn on the computer side kick panel

i'll also toss this onto the fire...if the circuit board for your old factory gauges has a broken link to it, find a rear window defroster repair kit. but if it just needs to get cleaned, use a pencil eraser to do it.

I found a seller years ago on ebay that I had fix my A3M in my 93gt. My timing advance wasn't working & the car ran like a dog. It would pop & bang on decel bad too. Whatever he replaced in it did the trick.

I wish my A9P fix could have been this easy. Same capacitors were bad but still no start with fuel pump running constantly. Guess I’ll have to send it in for repair

Dan have you use a ecm from napa or other parts store. I’m wonder if there is any difference in the tune

First good luck finding one, cardone and blue streak the two big reman companies only do repair and return on them now. They lack cores, not worth it to me from ones I've repaired. Most I've opened have the e prom swapped to a good core board vs a rebuild. Just opened an old unused blue streak reman a9p that didn't even get the 30 Oem caps replaced. There all at the end of there life cycle these days.. Only paid $50 and its a dead simple fix though. For the money you can't beat ecu exchange on eBay if you have a repairable core. They are not just fixing burnt traces and swapping caps like most, that anyone can do. They are the only rebuilder ive dealt with that really replaces components on the board that I couldn't source. I haven't dealt with fox resto on ecus, just parts orders there but I assume he does the same.

I still got one near me as well.
It is nothing like the Radio Shacks of the past but it is a Radio Shack.
They basically share floor space with another retailer in the same store.
