Does the village of Rosewood still exists? I have been told that it did as late as the 1820's and was the home of an ancestor of mine - his name was either Edward Simon or Edward Simonton.

Have you considered visiting the lovely church at Hampnett, within easy walking west of Northleach. It has a very interesting story of how, in the mid-19th century, it was redecorated to represent how it may have looked in pre-reformation times and the parishioners were not best pleased!

Thank you so much, for a journey with story-telling, showing us the hidden gems of the Cotswolds. Recently, I met an Englishman in my city of Utrecht, the Netherlands, who told me of the Cotswolds as part of Britain that is largely untouched by modernities, offering peace and quiet, with unspoiled nature also. After I told him of my almost 5 years in Britain, living on Dartmoor, with appreciation of the hidden country side and woodlands, the rolling hills and quiet coastal villages. The far views from a hilltop or a Tor are dearly missed, but I'm sure to return to Britain for long holidays. The Netherlands is very densely populated!

My wife and I just ventured, by the spirit of exploration, into the hamlet of Farmcote and then down to Hales Monastery. Truly an off the beaten path gem by any standard of history. We also visited Sudeley, where Thomas Seymour resided. Access to the monastery and the church is limited to Wednesday thru Sunday, but just to stand on the property was a dip into a world of glory and grandeur gone by.

A person who is deeply well knowledge about his country's heritages and love it dearly with concern is very rare..not to mention to preserve it through film in which many could learn. Sir Robin is the gem himself..but most of the time I must struggle whether to listen to his lecturing or to just enjoy the gorgeous sceneries..there is no need to rush to finish the film anyway..watching it carefully for an hour or two on and off, would be much better to appreciate his hard works and his team, & their dedication towards their beloved country.

I hate to disagree with you regarding the 'modern phillistine obsession with money' as being the primary modern threat - as love of money is part and parcel of the human condition. I worry about the modern Phillistine obsession with the complete destruction of Western Civilization, past, present, and future. BTW, LOVE your videos! FAR Better than anything cable or regular TV has to offer- you are a natural narrator and tour guide 🙂Love from Chicago 🙏
