@@EliasSarantopoulos hi great video but how can I delete a single line between two nodes.
@@marksneyd1262 If I understand correctly, you can use the Scissors tool to cut the path and delete nodes from there. Hope this answers your question. 👋 😀
Tanks for your time that you take to teach us 👍
And I thank you for watching and feedback! 🙏 😀 👋
Very informative tutorial; I particularly liked the last half concerning snapping, transform and select.

Wow this software is powerful. Thanks for the detailed explanation!
Yeah, I feel the same, in some ways Affinity Designer can do more than Illustrator, still waiting for some much need tools to come to this platform though. Thank you Natália! 😀👋
Excellent video, this really helped my understanding!

@@EliasSarantopoulos is there a way to move simultaneously two not adjacent anchor points once they are selected?
@@WarlockOfAsshai Either marquee select with the Node tool or use the Add Selection option at the bottom of the Node tool. Try that and see how it works on your end. 😀
This really needed its own video so thank you for making it. I still forget what some of these do. Only thing Serif needs to do is keep these selected settings (including grid) persistent after closing the app. I don't know why they think it's a good idea to reset them every time, unless I'm missing a setting.
I agree with that but the app overall rocks. Thank you for your feedback! 😀 👋
Thanks for great videos :-)
Thank you for your kind comment, much appreciated! 🙏😀
Perfect

@@EliasSarantopoulos You’re welcome man. Do you know if there is any app on iPad other than AI that has vector free transform/warp? Thank you sir!
@@slartibartfast7921 The most advanced app to my knowledge is AD. Illustrator on iPad is getting better and they do have some useful functions such as Repeat Grid, that be something that can help you develop your design idea. 😀
@@EliasSarantopoulos Thanks so much man!
@@slartibartfast7921 I thank you for watching! AD is endless, I keep digging into it, just imagine after that. Are you new to AD? Did you get the other apps as well, the trilogy?
How is this NOT Affinity's official channel??
Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated! 😀 👋
do you have a video showing how to edit simple images like a icon? coloring and changing the shape?
Not in that exact order but you need to look at the titles and thumbnails to see what I provide. 😀👋
Just could not figure out how to rotate SOME of the selected nodes of an object.... now I know.
Third Dimension Jewellery It's all the tips & tricks. Thank you 🙏😀
Hey Eliaz, great video! A query re selecting multiple nodes. Is there a shortcut (on iPad preferably - if not desktop would work) to select all nodes on an object?
I understand that I can draw a box around all nodes to select them. However, if I'm zoomed in and can only see part of the object and then need to move the whole object I need to be able to select all nodes. The reason I move an object whilst nodes are selected is so that I can place it node to node with another object. Unfortunatly I can't do this with the move tool - unless you konw how.
I'm trying to find a solution to improve the work flow in order to easily line up objects node to node. (Imagine drawing a jigsaw puzzle with non-symetrical pieces, pulling it apart, and then trying to put it back together again aligned perfectly - this final alignment is where I'm having issues).
Cara, yes you can do that with the new version. Do you see the new Command Controler? Tap on the Up Arrow, the Shift and then select multiple nodes. Makes sense?
Can you make a video on how to edit individual letters, like cutting off a part of a letter? Im trying to erase the back of the B to make it look like a 3 if that makes sense. Please and thank you
David, on my latest Affinity Designer video I touch on that subject. These kinds of holes are done with Boolean Operation. Also you can try Isometric lettering which I cover as well. Just look at the video thumbnails and see what I am talking about. I hope I understood your question. 😀👋
I'm having trouble smoothing one single node like in illustrator.
Example: Rounded corner rectangle, you pull one of the corners out. you want to keep the straight part straight and only smooth the curve. then it turns the whole thing into a rounded blob.
Add a finger modifier onto the canvas at the same time. See how that works for you Corey. 😀👋
Please help, i cant find why i am having this trouble. I purchased a sewing pattern with multiple sizes in layers. Unfortunately most are dashed and i need them joined lines. Unfortunately changing to complete line only works for some of the sections others stay dashed. I can not for the life of me join the nodes, the join node is greyed out even though its just curved lines and i am selecting the two with the 2 nodes i want to join but there is no option but if i select more than one dashed line join comes up but it does not work it joins them completely distorted. I mean these are just lines not weird shapes i can see if each dash is locked or something as im not experienced enough and the creators will not change it for you, way too much work. Please help???
Hi there, thank you for reaching out. Do you think you can email me a portion of these lines or layers so I can take a look at? Also, are you working inside the tablet or desktop? 😀
Why pencil has blue round circle while in use?
These are the Touch Gestures indicators, you can turn them off inside the Settings panel (look for the Gear icon inside the gallery). Hope this helps. Thank you. 😀
Hi, how to get the same modification at 3.06 using desktop Affinity Designer?
June, select the anchor point with the Node tool and up in the Control bar look for the Convert option. Convert to Sharp, Convert to Smooth, Convert to Smart. Hope this helps. 😊
@@EliasSarantopoulos Owh, my point is when you moved the nodes with 4 finger modifier, both anchor handle stay still. I could figure it how it can be done in desktop
@@VectorizewithJun Not unless you are using a Microsoft type of PC/Tablet.
@@EliasSarantopoulos Yes, I'm using microsoft PC
@@VectorizewithJun Is it tablet or desktop?
Adding node by tapping tab key?
This on the iPad Marc, not sure the keyboard shortcut on the desktop. 😀👋
my affinity designer node tool does not have a delete icon ans I am stuck
Yusof, what happens when you select a Node? Nothing appears at the bottom left corner? 😀
@@EliasSarantopoulos i got that but I cannot move out of the node tool at all... you too have not shown it.. how to deactivate this tool when I do not need it?
@@evoshindi Just tap away by switching to another tool, usually the Selection tool. 😀
Elias, dude this video is absolutely fantastic. Thank you for this. Your instructions are brilliantly easy to follow and very succinct. I do have a question about managing overlapping/interweaving shapes though. Can you tell me if this (czcams.com/video/rBcJ9CerS8g/video.html) is really the best way to go about handling overlapping vectors? I know the video shows the desktop app but I'm using an iPAD just like you are. Thanks in advance!
Techrival, inside the iPad, select the shapes you wish to cut or subtract, go the Edit menu, Geometry and choose one of the Boolean operations, there you will find both Add or Subtract. Let me know if this what you were looking for. 😀
@@EliasSarantopoulos Not exactly. Thank you though. Imagine if you were drawing a coiled snake that you wanted to be able to modify the stroke or fill later.. Imagine the problems that come into play with a snake where some parts, of the snake, will go over or under other parts.
@@Techrival Then you need to separate those two so the Stroke and the Fill are on different layers. If that's what you need then watch the latest Affinity Designer tutorial up on my channel. 😀
These options no longer appear to be available.
Which ones? AD hasn't changed since then, can you be more specific? Thank you 😀 👋
@@EliasSarantopoulos After doing some poking around, I found them. You have to convert the shape to curves before they appear.
@@MakuLegume Sounds great! 😀👋
The snap to methods as demonstrated don’t show practical usage. You do things that no one would do. Is there a practical usage for these features that somebody would actually do?
Well maybe not but it is part of the Node Tool and the tutorial covers all possible aspects. Some features are indeed useful and I find myself using some. 😀👋
dragon breath
Thank you Don! 😀 👋
i need an update version in affinity designer 2. the interface totally different from this video 🥲 thanks in advance
Thank you for your feedback, noted 😀👋
