  • Russia celebrated their May 9th Victory Day Parade and every year their military parade gets smaller and more pathetic. Ukraine responded last night by launching numerous successful drone strikes on Russian oil refineries and depots. Lithuania has announced they are prepared to send their own soldiers to Ukraine has trainers.

For what purpose, I dont exactly know... hope someone dive deeper in to this. I doubt it was 500 cars but 20 - 50 cars maybe I could see... Disturbing stuff...

      @@classicrocker889 Look up the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact if you wish to know more. In short, it partitioned Poland between Nazi Germany and the USSR, aswell as guarantees from Stalin to Hitler that the USSR wouldn't interfere in Europe, effectively giving the latter free reign to do what he wanted.
      The only reason the USSR even ended up on the Allies' side was because Germany attacked USSR regardless. Else they'd have happily watched Europe struggle against the Nazis.

    • @thenglar
      @thenglar Před 27 dny +65

      Yes - and they even kept their share of Poland. In 1945 they handed Poland for this Germany east of the river Oder over, keeping Königsberg (Kaliningrad) for themselves. Btw: The Sovietunion was not happy in the Nuremberg trials 1946, when the other allies wanted to punish Germany for the crime of aggression. Because this might indeed have raised questions about Moscow's role.

He was considered too old for call up at the age of 36, but he ended up as Flight Sergeant bomb-aimer co-pilot in the RAAF 462 Squadron in a Halifax bomber flying 32 missions targeting Nazi military installations all across Europe, with a crew of Australians. They were honouring veterans of the UK convoys years ago pre putin. There was also UK/russian cities twinning with each other. My city plymouth twinned with novorosik. Even had a new major road named after it. Novorosik way. After the invasion it became zelensky way. Tho the council is going to keep the name as they dont believe that the russian people should be blamed for putins imperialist actions.

    Why is not widely known that the old USSR (Russia's predecessor), joined Germany in land grabbing before WWII fully initiated? The USSR/Russia have been stealers of other people's territory since they began settlements. I think even Patton asked Washington at the time to continue to go to Moscow himself because he saw how different the people were in their thinking. Why is it that Washington has a difficult time moving fully against Russia's aggression? It is a repeat of events just before WWII and nobody who has the ability to command action is taking the action necessary to stop it now. We tell Ukraine not to do this or that because it might lead to escalation. Hogwash! Russia has escalated each time the West has backed down.

    • @jana_t

      I grew up in East Germany, and we learned about the "Non aggression pact" between Hitler and Stalin - but we never heared the name "Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact" and we only learnt that it said that Hitler promised not to attack the USSR, but of course he did.
      What we did not learn was that the pact included Russia getting half of Poland. They told us Hitler attacked Poland in 1939 and then the USSR in 1941. So far, so true. But that the attack on the USSR happened on Polish soil was never mentioned. And although the Allies were of course a topic, we never learnt that Russia received massive aid packages from GB and the US. And I guess that many people in Russia today are on the same level of information. The truth came to me as one of the biggest shocks after the German re-unification. Actually, when the GDR still existed, I thought that Russia was our friend. After the reunification I thought: 'Great, now the US are our friend, too. That means: WORLD PEACE FOR EVER!' - Man, how wrong I was...

      it's true that the West supplied Russia with the hardware, but Stalin paid for it with the blood of his hapless conscripts. They died by the millions. But the Wehrmacht was broken in its invasion of Russia- something between 2/3 and 3/4 of all German casualties happened on the eastern front. The USSR certainly were no angels, and they helped kickstart the war with their criminal invasion of Poland in the first place, but if it weren't for them the war may have turned out far different.

Further apparently you didn't watch available videos. The 2024 Victory Parade was to remember the 25 million Russians who died saving the world from Hitler. Ukraine should be provided with an enough fighter aircraft to form airforce, such as F-16s and longer-range precision munitions, including ATACMS ({more of them, and the longest-range versions should be sent to them), and the russian military facilities inside of russian territory should be considered legitimate targets. It is worth noting that support for military aid to Ukraine in America is over 80% and increasing. This is because Americans understand that not only is aiding Ukraine the morally right thing to do, it is the practical thing to do also. America has spent something like approximately 6% of our military budget so far to aid Ukraine. However, more than half of the russian army has been destroyed. This is a tremendous bargain by any measure! In addition, when russia is defeated in this war, their barbaric ideology of imperialism will also be defeated, making Europe a much more peaceful and stable place for decades - as well as preventing a new arms race in the region. That is why billions of dollars spent today to aid Ukraine saves trillions of dollars tomorrow. The vast majority of Americans understand this fact. Americans also want Ukrainian military and civilian casualties minimized. This is why Americans are correct to support providing military aid to Ukraine.
    Please write to your elected representatives to request this military aid. If you are an American citizen, please consider writing to President Biden and your other elected representatives, and demand Ukraine be given the above weapons - in war-winning quantities, and promptly. The sooner America provides Ukraine the weapons it requires to liberate all of its territory, the sooner this war will be done, and with fewer Ukrainian casualties. Letters can be submitted electronically via the Whitehouse website. One can also conduct a google search for ones' elected representatives - many of which have similar websites. One may simply write and submit a letter electronically to make one's desire known.
