    A useful trick for getting hoses back on easily is to use cap full of water with a drop of dish soap mixed in. Just dip a finger in the soap water and coat whatever the hose fits onto and the hose will slide on easy peasy. The water will evaporate and the small bit of residue from the soap won't affect anything.

    You still own this vehicle? How’s it going? Mine has 185K, I need to do some tune up things to it to make sure I get up to your mileage.

    Hello sir, my corolla 04 takes longer to start when the engine is warm. It cranks a lot more compared to when the engine is cold. No engine codes. Have you noticed this problem before

    Did you replace because of a P0171 code/ check engine light? Or just replace because of the mileage?

      I replaced mine just due to mileage. Thanks for watching!

    My mechanic said just swap out the PCV whenever you change out spark plugs which is every 10-years, 100,000 miles for Iridium plugs.

    I’m curious, I have an 03 Corolla with 150k & I noticed a stain from the hose that leads to the front. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

    Next time put some silicone paste on the pcv so it would be easier to slide the hose back on.

      When you shake it you don't hear the ball/ valve inside moving. You can soak it in gas and clean the sludge out ant put the old one back if it's not totally bad

  • @stuntdriver2147
    @stuntdriver2147 Před 2 lety +1

    The rattle is not a valid test. The job of the PCV is to prevent oil from being vented into your throttle body / intake system. What you need to look for is oil in the vacuum line and the small end of the PCV valve. The fact that u have oil residue is exactly what u don't want. Your old pcv valve was most likely bad. The next test is to check your plugs for dark fowling.

    • @BusyFingers
      @BusyFingers Před 2 lety +2

      I agree that oil residue between the valve and the intake manifold is not great news, but I don’t believe the “job of the PCV valve is to prevent oil from being vented into the throttle body / intake system.”

      this one and a 2000 Corolla have easy access and it is a simple job you can do yourself with a cool engine and brake cleaner/spout tip to spray the inside of the PCV valve clean... Unless the cleaned PCV does not rattle with the inside spring working.... re-use it after cleaning it well.

    • @ToddsGarage
      @ToddsGarage  Před 3 lety
