Ruby isn’t capable of feeling empathy, period. There’s no way it would have gotten this far if she had.
Facts!!
Exactly. I've seen some people trying to defend her, saying stuff like, "Well, she's a victim too, Jodi obviously brainwashed her..." 😑 No. First of all, Ruby was always a complete sociopath. Her treatment of her kids was horrific years before she even MET Jodi.
And second of all, how could any mother who truly loves her children ever be brainwashed into physically or mentally torturing them?!! I have a lot of friends who are moms, & none of them would ever consider harming any of their children for any reason, EVER. Ruby already had a propensity for cruelty. Jodi didn't brainwash her, she just stoked a fire that was already burning.
Not surprising to hear Ruby has no empathy.
I'm pretty sure that's a window behind her and not a painting because I could see the clouds moving
I grew up Mormon, you are indoctrinated from birth to believe that obedience to the top leaders is the only way you'll get to live in the highest heaven, and if you don't, you'll lose your family and God forever.
The mind control and control over everything you think , say and do and how you see others is horrible. You lose your own identity and take the identity they give you. You're given an image, and then the organization uses you as their ad for more customers. People often say to me, 'I know Mormons, they're some of the nicest people i know! Why are you bad mouthing them?'
I try to explain, they made us into sources of money and power for them. We were made into an image that's easier to control and also the ad for a $250 billion org.
They might be good hearted people, but you can't tell who they really are, because their real self is painted over with 'I am a good Mormon!'
And most of them are in torment, trying to live up to the expectations, and it's never enough.
It took me a long time to unravel their type of thinking from my mind, believing in invisible beings that speak through someone else to you. And you make that being mad if you want any proof, because this being wants you to believe what someone tells you about him ... By faith.
That's a cult. You've been groomed to need someone else to tell you what is true and real and expected of you, and if you're doing good enough to please the invisible being.
The day i finally stopped believing in the Mormon church as 'the one true church,' and figured out it is a lie, started by a con artist for power and money, it was like somebody turned off the loudest, most staticy noise in my head. The guilt and shame and ocd trying hear a voice that wasn't there was gone.
I could finally start to just be me. I wasn't proving myself to anyone or any invisible beings. I got to decide who i was and if i was good enough for me. I didn't have to force myself to be anything.
I can't believe how much of my life was spent trying to be on 'The Covenant Path ' that is obedience to the top leaders at all costs. You can't believe how wrong it all is until you're completely free. It was so wrong of them to control me and my mind like they did.
So i try to tell people.
Paige was probably raised Mormon, i hope she got out of that cult too. It's all a lie. And my ancestors have been in this lie since Joseph Smith. It's heartbreaking to think of all those lives and identities that were hijacked for power and money.

I am a never Mormon however I had the pleasure of meeting elders through a good friend! I was intrigued to say the least ! My biggest contention was all these people feared God - every thing is watched by God making God / Jesus a fearful being ! That’s not the way you should feel !

Exactly Chad made Julie Rowe his God , Lori made Chad her God - Alex killed because he thought Chad was a God - Ruby let Jodi be her God and this is how all this escalated !
Just because they belonged to the LDS church doesn’t mean that the church has anything to do with their aberrant behavior. If the church condoned what they did that would be different.
@@lorigifford4589the people at the top of the lds church were recommending Jodi to people. Even after it came out what she was doing and her license was suspended they were still recommending her and supporting her. She wasn’t even trying to hide what she was doing so the lds church had to see everything. She had a website and everything so there’s no way they can deny they didn’t know about her own little cult she had branched off from their main cult known as the lds church. I’ve never been a part of the lds church but many people who have been have spoken out against the church themselves and said it’s a cult. Same with Jehovah’s witnesses.

I think it makes them very gullible, teaches them to ignore their own emotions, thoughts and instincts.
The Lds causes them to isolate from anyone who is not Lds. This is dangerous!
For example lori vallows mom said since she was a kid she was always committed to the church, completely loyal and always read scripture on her own.
I think this made her very gullible, willing to listen to authority if it is to promise them to the highest heaven, I believe chad was promising this.
Paige has learned a very valuable life lesson. She needs to continue to educate herself. If I were her, I would take some psychology and sociology classes at the local college.

I think she’s sincere. She’s doing what ruby’s sisters should have done. She’s accepting responsibility, telling enough of the story, and not just playing a victim. Those look like real tears for the pain and suffering caused to the children
I think Jody is the one with porn addiction so thinks everyone else does too. You know those people that can't understand not everyone is like them. Combined with the extreme narcissism she has all the answers for every human, particularly porn addiction.

I don't think I wrote this. Paige deserves credit for finally rejecting Jodi and at least trying to save Kevin and Ruby the same trauma. The Franke's rejected their advice. Too bad.
I think lots of people are missing the Mormon Church connection in all of this and their use of Stockholm Syndrome. The Church is over the top controlling, you can do nothing right. They label everyone porn addicted as a means of keeping them coming to therapy sessions (that the client pays for). The Church doesn't not practice grace as other churches and the general public do. I strongly feel that Kevin has been trapped in their Stockholm Syndrome. He is not innocent, but he is as much a victim. Ruby's anger, demands, keeping him from the kids is so typical of a narcissist and I can see how she would use the rigid control of the church to control Kevin and her family.
I do not see that Jodi was that conceited to think she was a god. Rolling my eyes. A woman who had freak outs over money, content. Taking in Ruby was a great opportunity for Jodi to feed her cruelty. Think of any team-up of bad meets bad and forms an alliance.
In Kevin's defense, they bullied the hell out of him. They should feel guilty for doing that, John.
Jodi said, Paige is involved with Amway. Jodi saw it as a cult. I saw it as selling cheap, non-nutritous products. The person I met was nice and kept saying Amway was going to improve product choice. I didn't buy it. Amway works by making money off of people working for you. Not quite a cult, just it was the only delivery service for people who couldn't access products easily.
Which was the same business model of Connections. I really wish she would stop this run around. She was into Connections for the revenue. I appreciate that they came to the realization that it wasn't sound doctrine. They still, except for Jodi were Sunday School teachers pretending to be therapists.
As for the camp issue? Mr. Lazy should have started a Scout Troop like many good Mormons, some prejudice ones so he could teach his son right. Instead of packing him off to lazy parent camp.
I want to believe Paige tried to get Ruby out but not realizing Ruby found her mentor.
There, in conclusion to all of this mess. Paige and John got out. Hopefully, didn't abuse their children. They royally messed up by adding their name as staff. Legally? I don't know how that could hurt them.
