- Everytime i hear this soundtrack (and a chill goes down my spine) i want to listen to some special parts. So i cutted the "Overture" and "Maid Marian" together.
Now you can hear about 8 minutes pure chilling soundtrack music.
Relax and listen to these parts from "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves".

Brilliant main theme. A clear field, a fast horse and you can gallop with the wind at your back and a smile on your face.

These two are some of my favorite parts of the movie too. I love the beginning overture and the scene by the river when Robin sends Marian, Sarah, and Duncan away. You can tell neither of them want to be parted from the other.
One of the first films to include a positive, gorgeous and fair view about the Islam. A christian and a musslim fighting together for the future and the hope of the poor. Touching. More films like that in that dark times of prejudices.

This gives me chills also. I played it with my orchestra a while back and everyone was complaining about how repetitive the string part is (I'm also a string player), but it just has a magnificence about it that certain pieces of music has.

It's the french horn. Always gives a chill, be it Wagner or film music.

the thing about the french horn is that it sounds like it's holding back. Like it wants to erupt into the high notes like the trumpet, but it knows that it's building tension.
It's not as sharp as a trumpet nor as abrasive as a trombone. It has a mournfulness to its sound
Wish they would bring the 4k version out.

Underrated theme... this is in the same tier as Star Wars and Indiana Jones ones. Even if the movie wasn't

I like this much better than the original. I agree that the "prisoner" part just didn't feel right to fall right after the overture. I used to have this soundtrack on a cassette tape and I would fast forward pass the prisoner part music all the time.
but that was when it appeared in the movie, so it had to follow. I always liked the eerie feeling I got right after the heroic theme.
