Good to see you again or hear you again. Terrific job on this review! And also the momentum review! Sounds like I should pass on these. I like my Bose Soundsport wireless, and I don’t have to worry about losing an ear piece because there is a connecting wire.
My wife loves her Airpods and uses them every day

I brought the Powerbeats pros last week and I find your review extremely accurate. The sound is not the best and I would actually say it could be considered on-par with the airpods , BUT the features is what makes it stand out above the airpods. These are NOT your typical “Beats” headphones. There is no heavy bass, however many reviews are saying there is. If you are looking for that heavy bass sound, these are not for you. But, if you are looking for good balance sounding headphones with all the bells and whistles that may be missing in the airpods (fit, controls, water resistant, etc...), these are worth a try especially for working out. No more pushing and constantly adjusting my earbuds during workouts. With all of that being said, I like both headphones for 2 different reasons. The convenience of the size and portability of the airpods cannot be beat. If you have to choose 1 pair, get the airpods. You really cannot go wrong. They both have good sound and they both sound good during conversations. If your main focus is for running or gym usage and if you can justify the cost, get the Pros.

Excellent review! You really do cover all aspects, and your audio descriptions are very, VERY useful indeed-at least to me-because I can see the terms you use you actually do understand them which is quite rare from so-called reviewers on CZcams. Personally, I love different aspects you mention about this earphones, but the treble does seem to be quite troublesome for me from your description.
BTW, I really appreciate the fact you discuss different codecs and the fact-although you don't state it as such-there's plenty of snake oil out there; the fact you mention the implementation of AAC on Apple products vs Aptx shows you know your stuff. I personally don't buy into the whole HD stuff -- a WELL mastered 256kbps AAC file can sound absolutely brilliant, ie the actual mastering is much more important than whether the file is mp3, AAC, FLAC, etc. And in that regard, 'mastered for iTunes' albums do sound better than quite a few which are not (read: loudness wars issues are very much looked into/taken care of in these masterings).
    Well done!

Fantastic review bro. I had the sennheisers but returned them due to the battery life and bugs. I still miss the sound though and have since owned the b&o e8 2.0 but they didn't compare for me. I'm hoping the sony wf-1000xm3's can at least get close but I doubt they will sadly.

I agree with your review 100%. When it comes to sound quality expectations with in ear headphones / buds, I don’t expect much from them. Yes there are a few that has far better SQ then these PBP but they don’t offer a secured fit or seem less connectivity or sleek fit design. If I want great SQ, I go with Overear headphones. So to me, this gadget gets the job done for when I want to be discreet and functional at the same time.

Use mine with memory foam type tips. Prefer the fit that I get. Makes them more comfortable in the ears.

    Hi
I watched both your videos on the Powerbeats and Sennheiser and I still find it hard to choose
I have my Sennheiser MM550 that I use at home or on long car trips, but I need earbuds to carry outside and I hate wires.
I watched many reviews and these two models are probably the better options
I have iPhone, iPod and Mac, so the Powerbeats pro would be great for the connectivity and for working out; I’m very active and run almost everyday. I like how easy it is to connect and use them: they’re truly user friendly
And they sound great for my martial arts training too
But I don’t work out in the gym, so I have to deal with traffic and noisy children
And I often listen to music when I walk to places or while I wait for college lectures to start, so the ambient sound is quite loud
So the isolation provided by the Sennheiser is truly important too
And I know how special Sennheiser quality sound is (every time I try someone’s headphones I notice the difference)
So which one would be better for me in your opinion?
