    As a young architect back in London I always cycled by Richard Rogers Studio in Hammersmith, inspired by his studio, and 25 year later I am still inspired by him now! Thank you.

    I stopped by what I think was this property a couple of weeks back.
    Looks totally normal from the outside but you could see the huge ceilings and lack of internal walls inside.
    I love it, so clean and calm.

    Once I was into this type of interior design. After maturing and living in different houses, now I enjoy cozier atmospheres, more wood, more textures, more warmness. My personal preferences aside, Sir Richard Rogers was one of the most admirable architects to have ever lived.

    I notice they are really influenced by Philip Guston’s art works. I do love the Warhol Mao’s scale as well. I would definitely enjoy spending time with them and discussing modern art and architecture. A really fun place to live.

      elderly the couple is "current". (my English is not so good)

Mao on the wall is psychotic [= he killed 60,000000 people] + Andy Bum-Hole was a diseased blumpkin, with the skills of a leper. Give me Rococo + Art Nouveau + French Symbolist and a plenitude of my artworks.

    Heating can be expensive with high ceilings; a lot of stairs to climb for an older person.

    Having visited friends living in a couple of such stark modernist homes, I'd say the major shortcoming of such interiors is that they look pretty awful when messy. The open plan kitchen especially has to be kept clean, but messy desks and clothing piled on chairs and couches also spoil the sculptural effect of such spaces.

      She is a chef, he is an architect, they both have earned a packet during their careers and do not have so much time left, do I am sure that none of those “issues” matter in the slightest to them. For them, it is all about entertaining, being surrounded by art, and having the space to think. Good to them for making the most of life, and not spending it making snarky remarks on CZcams.

      Thaťs true for all kinds of places. My in-laws had to move from their home because of their physical condition (and it was nothing like this house, obviously). If we live long enough, we'll all have do deal with this reality.

      Exactly. I appreciate it as something different. However, post COVID I definitely appreciate separate spaces. Having whole of family of 6 home for two years, and each wanting own space, I appreciate privacy. With privacy of separate rooms you can zoom without apologising for granny and the kids during work hours. Just lock them up in their own spaces ... Imo
      Still, nice to see different ideas, although I would like to have heard / seen a longer interview.
