The ego wants stuff; our soul wants to mirror the perfection of Heaven on the earth.

  • 5/10/24 - The ego is always comparing itself to someone else and comes from a place of lack. It always prays for an object that we think we need and want. It doesn't mind if we take it from someone else. When we get it, it doesn't bring lasting happiness.
How is it different when we pray from our soul? I think Jesus gave us the key to that in what we call the Lord’s Prayer. In it we pray, “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.” Our soul wants God’s will to be done and His Heavenly Kingdom to come to earth. It seems to me that we need to know what Heaven is like. Then we can do our part to mirror that while we’re on the earth.
I think that mirroring God’s Kingdom on the earth is to see ourselves and each other as we are in Heaven. There, we are God’s perfect children. We were created by Love, as Love. Everything and everybody is as God created it. I am still as God created me. You are still as God created you. The Bible tells us that nothing can separate us from the love of God. Nothing can change the way we were created because nothing is more powerful than Love. I believe that our True Self continues to be in Heaven.
So how does our soul want to pray when we have needs? How do we pray for the desires of our heart? Jesus said that if I pray believing that I have received it, it will be mine. The receiving is not out in the future. I feel the joy of having my prayer answered here and now.

“’For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,’ declares the LORD. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts’” (Isaiah 55:8-9).
