John Munch- the guy who works in the system but has never really trusted the system. They also at least implied back on Homicide LotS that he committed vigilante homicide himself against a guy who slipped through the system, but the cops assigned to investigate let it slide.
RIP Richard Belzer.
THIS! It's a long-standing (and pretty plausible) theory that he killed Gordon Pratt, the racist scumbag who shot and nearly killed Bolander, Howard, and Felton, but it was never dwelled upon further.
Yes! I loved that little plotline in Homicide.
John munch will forever remain my favorite
"Detective Amaro." A call up from Stan "The Big Man" Bolander's "Detective Munch" from the very first episode of "Homicide: Life on the Street."
RIP Richard Belzer. A great actor. A fantastic comedian. And a real wit and intelligent man.
He’s dead?
@@Noodles-The-Hunter-VanguardYeah
If armaro didn't loose his cool, he could've charged that guy for assaulting a police detective.
Yup for justice
There's also the fact that he grabbed for the camera first so it's a shaky charge at best

Pretty sure he couldn’t take a pic of the detective without his permission while the side walk is public ground you can’t take pic of random people

In a perfect world, those kids just stop playing, stand there with their teachers and stare silently at the guy with the camera.

The golfer?
I was looking for a comment like this😂
Didn't he almost drown in 3 inches of watah?
Yes!❤❤❤❤
I'm shocked that Elliot Stabler was arrested when he was an SVU detective for almost killing a pedophile I mean he came really close I bet Elliot would help Nick Amaro beating and almost killing Simon Wilkes.
What season was that one with Elliot killing a pedophile? Because in Season 10, he beat the hell out of a pedophile for having a photo of his youngest daughter, Elizabeth on his website, and Cragen reamed him for that.
@@omarcogle1965Stabler didn’t get arrested no, but Cragen putted him on administrative leave with payee and reprimanded him about his actions, especially on controlling his temper.
@@ScottMorrisIV I don't blame Cragen on that, but I don't blame Elliot either.
@omarcogle1965 People in positions of authority should be better than the average joe at controlling their emotions.
@@Sniperboy5551 This was unique circumstances. His daughter was on the pedophiles computer.
8:20 Nick was so grateful, he was speechless
If I had a nickel for every time Danny Pino played a cop who beat up a sexual predator while off duty, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice. Right?
Lol, about a year ago, I told my sister that EXACT joke, since she’s the biggest “Cold Case” fan I’ve ever known. She cracked up! 😂
I wonder if any interviewers have ever mentioned the similarities between Nick Amaro and Scotty Valens…?
But on Cold Case he got away with it, not on SVU. Well technically he got off because Rollins set a honey trap for Simon Wilkes.
Jackie junior survived and became a lawyer. bravo
Detective John Munch great cop but even better human being
Rest in peace Detective Munch💔
Half a million dollars.
He needs 10% for a bail bondsman $50k or to get him out by putting all of it down himself. Now thats a friend. Plus he saved his butt b4 everyone in the jail found out he's a cop.
I love Munch, this made me emotional. RIP Richard Belzer.
All I could say the rest of the video was “ MUNCHHHHH 😢😢😢” RIP
The witnesses only looked after the officer began swinging. Prior to that how many people saw him stalking children and photographing them? But then the detective messed up when he turned from police officer to vigilante.
He wasn't trying to be a vigilante sistakia33. Amaro had a child of his own and was more so thinking as a fiercely protective parent in the moment. I do agree he should have exercised self-control though.
@@xyPERSON You know the parent in me probably would have done worse. Truthfully I think if everyone treated strangers like beloved family members none of this madness we see today would exist. (Just my opinion.)
Unfortunately unless the guy has a record it’s not illegal to take photos in NY state all he would have to say is he was takeing candid shots for a paper magazine or for a art show have release waivers on him (takes less then 10 bucks to buy them and another 10 to print them) and it adds to his story and he’s pretty much safe as fucked up as it is
@@seanbraley2772 How backwards does a system have to be not to recognize a problem exists until someone (or several someones) are hurt or worse! 😢
@@sistakia33 the system isnt back words people take advantage of it and in all honesty if he wasnt a POS just someone taking pics in a park and a cop come up to him told him to stop garbed his camera and then was hit when that normal person pulled away and the cop did this would you want him to get off becouse of that impact

Ok I remember this episode, pervert with the camera built a torture chamber and was in the process of procuring an immigrate boy that “no one would miss”. He got off, the least that could’ve been done was have him be kept away from schools, parks and any place where children are at. Then he would’ve been in jail.

The judge can’t impose a court order like that unless he’s being convicted of a crime or he takes a plea deal. You’re presumed innocent so if you’re acquitted of all charges, the court can’t impose an arbitrary penalty like that.
@@Sniperboy5551 THE MAN MADE A TORTURE CHAMBER! HE WAS INQUIRING FOR A BOY NO ONE WOULD MISS!

Jackie jr and brother mouzone wow
Brother Mouzone went from a serial killer to an IAB officer. Impressive
So basically an off duty officer did what the Justice system failed to do.
Even if convicted, the guy would not have been sentenced to be beaten nearly to death.
He took the law into his own hands. There's this thing called DUE PROCESS. Even creeps are entitled to it under the Constitution of the United States.
He was my favorite actor on law & order SVU
I remember the guy who took the pictures of the kid at the beginning of the clip he was on icarly Sam whooped him with a sock of butter
I wondered if that was him thank you for clearing that up Alyssa
His name on icarly was nevel
Munch couldn’t have told him he posted his bail first and then give him the moving speech when they were outside the prison walls?
It's better that Amaro hears it when he's in prison knowing his charge.
It wouldn’t have hit the same
Nothing will change your attitude more than getting an ultimatum in jail. It also makes for better TV, more dramatic effect.
Being interrogated by Brother Mouzone and Jackie Jr together would really throw me off🤣🤣🤣

As a (former) SVU fan, I felt bad for Amaro, but as a Cold Case fan, it's about time Valens faces some justice for what he did.
If I were Amaro I would instruct my fellow officers to stand down and inform them to never let me catch them touching someone who outranks them again
In real life, the details they knew would have been suspecting the victim and not actually knowing he hurt anyone.
These shows are to make people feel police assumptions are right.

It's not about charging , it's about getting the proper authority to deal with stuff like this so the "good Samaritan" doesn't get into trouble.
