One hugely overlooked item here is the fact that the Trailhawk can tow 4500lbs, whereas the bronco sport is limited to 2200.
But it’s a gas guzzler compared to the BroncoSport Badlands 2.0 L Turbo engine and it has more torn than the Jeep. The price is also more interesting.
Each vehicle has its good against cons. The good for jeep is towing. But 2200 lbs is enough for my 4x6 enclosed trailer 3000 axles. My badlands still accelerate like a sport car with the trailer. Smile. The Jeep is good car too probably after it comes to look and interior preferences. I like sound insulation and confortable seat and b&o sound system and 400w inverter
@@michlittlefox I don't buy a Jeep based on gas mileage or looks. We've owned 7 Jeeps and not one ever was crowned Miss Beauty.
We love our 2019 TH. We gave our son our XJ with 304,000 miles.
2200 wont even tow most pop up campers, great point
How was it overlooked? They talked about it twice! It makes sense with a 6 vs a 4 clynder. So many jeep fanbois are tore up about the Bronco and even the Bronco sport its hilarious. Thats worth the money right there lol.
Pedantic point of correction - the Cherokee has a Power Transfer Unit, not a transfer case. Transfer cases are generally chain driven, the PTU in the Cherokee is gear driven, more similar to a differential or an old school power takeoff than a t-case honestly. There's also a big difference between the locker in the Cherokee and the "locker" in the Bronco Sport, which seemed to be kind of glossed over. The Cherokee has an honest-to-goodness mechanical locker, but the Bronco Sport uses a clutch-based system that will still allow for slip. That makes a big difference in doing anything more than forest roads, especially in these little CUVs that are going to be constantly on 3 wheels in any kind of actual, tough off roading. And, with these limited articulation vehicles, the Cherokee has a factory rock rail option, the Bronco Sport does not, which is an important consideration.
All they did was drive around and yack like all the detail you mentioned didn't matter. Thank you for your input because theirs was shallow at best.
Wow the Cherokee in a true off roader. I'm liking mine so far.
Very good points. The locker in the Cherokee is what sets it apart in this vehicle class.
Tcases are also gear-driven. The Dana 20 and Dana 300, for example.
This was 2 years ago. So probably didnt know enough then. But we know now that the dual clutch system is incredibly effective and does the same thing. Its not a Bronco, its not a Wrangler, it also isnt 60 to 100+k dollars..... Most people who own these super Jeeps or Broncos dont do more than trails anyway. Be honest. Cleanist trucks around I see are these monster Jeeps! So sparkly lol.
you are totally misrepresenting the trailhawk... they are plush as hell. extremely nice. feel great on the highway AND are beasts on the trail.
...agreed. Clearly a Ford slanted review.
You’re both wrong and are on the GFY program over 25 years.
💩🤣🤣🤣
@@bobbydemondukes I dont even know what that silly ass nonsense means.
‘21 Trailhawk Elite 🙌🏾
Trailhawk Elite is indeed very plush and comfortable! Just came back from snowy Whistler! 🇨🇦
I purchased the Cherokee Trailhawk over the Bronco. The real rear locking differential was a key feature that I was looking for and it's a tremendously good value based on price verses its on and off road capabilities . I'm sure the Ford will hold its value better over the next few years but that only matters if you're not going to hang on to it. The Jeep was just the smarter purchase.
Same here
I got a 2019 Cherokee TrailHawk Elite 3.2v6 off road I have pulled out almost one of each of its current competitors just from deep sand, out back, rav4, bronco sport lofl still need to save a Mitsubishi that may take a while since I don’t see many out here in Phoenix.
I agree
Agrre
Trailhawk has true rear locker, not a limited slip unit that can overheat. Trailhawk has a true 4WD low range. Trailhawk can tow over twice the weight. For those 3 reasons (and a few more) I picked the Trailhawk. I wanted something that can take me off-road to scenic locations, and also can tow a small camper comfortably. The Trailhawk is really the only compact SUV that has serious off road capability AND 4,500 towing (with the V6...)
This video comparison was just awful and totally biased from the start!
Yep! Cherokee Trailhawk compares more to the Big Bronco. I get kinda tired of people either making bad comparisons or not reviewing the Cherokee Trailhawk at all. Lift The Cherokee Trailhawk 2 inches for $200 and it will destroy basically everything but the Big Bronco and the Wrangler. A lifted Cherokee Trailhawk actually might beat all of the stock Wranglers but the Rubicon in some Scenarios.
Ford almost made this commercial look like a serious review. 😂
I agree. Never seen such a biased review.
Your comment almost sounds serious.😂
@@tedschmitt178 This whole review is a joke. At 14:28, as she said "you are probably not a serious off-roader if you buying Jeep." lol😆 Are you serious?
"If your brain is broken, go ahead and get the Cherokee"
30" inch approach. Then he corrected her.
Trailhawk absolutely fits my needs for off roading along with towing recreational trailer every now and then. So no to bronco, yes to trailhawk for me.
We do trail guides with lightly modified Cherokee Trailhawks and stock Rubicons… the Trailhawk does quite well and we don’t do easy trails. I was looking for a second vehicle, every Trailhawk I built was cheaper than every sport badlands I built so with whatever Jeep is doing, it’s cheaper. I didn’t get either and ordered something else tho.
Love your vids man!
@@confettihunterminus1 thank you!
Your comment, which I appreciate since you put in real work off road, doesn't make that much sense... since you say every Trailhawk you built was cheaper than a Sport Badlands. The Jeep literally starts more and goes higher quickly. When every Bronco Sport I build stays under the Jeep we drove. Now that said, if dealers near you are marking up the Ford that's a different story and that sucks. But dollars for dollars based on online shopping tools... the Ford is cheaper. ALso, what did you order, legit curious?
@@TheHooniverse it was probably due to incentives… but the Trailhawks I was finding were about 33-34k. This was probably two months ago. The badlands were I want to say 37-40k, but I have the screenshots somewhere showing all of this. I couldn’t believe it myself and went to Ford dealer and chatted a bit with them. The dealer agreed he couldn’t get the badlands in and that they were more expensive than the Trailhawks I showed him. It was also a new vehicle so I think it’ll be better to judge this after the novelty wears off. I’m actually getting two vehicles. One is old, one is being built. I’m more excited about the old one. I’m not announcing what they are till I actually have them in my possession as things can happen… but the new one is pretty much the exactly same as what I have as a 2021 model.
agreed. I do not get where they saw badlands was crazy cheaper. and I'm lost at their decision of the bronco say it's better overall. but they mentioned how the cherokee has a true 4wd, 4low, transfer case, skid plaes throughout, lockers that work (yes it's axel style. but the bronco is more like a sticker that does not work). also has a v6 (which they said they wish the bronco had)........ I guess they wanted something to go on the road and do a meh trail is what it came down to.
3.2 ltr vs 2 ltr no competition, too small an engine putting out to much power, not going to last, no transfer case, no go, she is into the Bronco, but the the Jeep is a better off road vehicle
Yeah, all that... this review was horrible!
That engine has been in production and used in the Ranger for quite some time. It is entirely solid.
As an eastern Canadian, I am very happy that the "Snow" mode is the first twist on the dial, lol.
The Trailhawk looks more off-road ready and with the rear locker, I think is more off-road ready. Cool Baby Bronco commercial though
I disagree with their comment on the interiors. The dash design and materials on the Bronco Sport are certainly not of the caliber used on the TrailHawk, in my opinion. To me, it looks and felt cheap on the Bronco Sport. I’ll take my 2014 KL TrailHawk, even with its quirks. Haha
Thankfully your opinion is wrong. 💩🤣
@Mike DeMarco These are the opinions that formulate due to drug use on the brain 🧠. Unfortunate. Simply not possible nor logical.
@Mike DeMarco ignore him, he is a known troll and FORD fanboy. He attacks anyone that points out the flaws of the FORD escape with a Bronco badge.
Overall the Cherokees are built well! I like mine so far.
I love my Cherokee Trailhawk. Very premium feeling inside and fun as hell offroad. Can’t wait for the snow this winter.
The baby Bronco is no match at all for the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I've taken my Cherokee Trailhawk on places the baby Bronco could only dream of.
No, you haven't.
@@pgo2372 😂
Just ordered a trailhawk a bronco never crossed my mind
This is proof that competition is healthy.
Right? Great comment and totally agree
my laugh comes in when they decide they pick the bronco overall. but then say how the cherokee performs better on harder trails that the bronco will NEVER do.
These models are both the off-road versions of both models. If that is what you are buying these for the Bronco is far behind the Cherokee in off-road capability. A real low range in the Cherokee is what makes it a real off-reader compared to an AWD crossover.
I am not sure why Jeep stopped offering the turbo engine starting with the 2021 models? I opted for a brand new 2020 and am totally satisfied with the turbo 4 cylinder power and performance. The six cylinder is a step down IMHO.
@@svenlindahl5607 I much prefer the V6 in mine. The power is much easier to modulate offroad and that's what mattered to me.
trailhawk also has true skid plates and a better lockers because it's set up as axels. While broncos set up is basically not doing it.
and v6
4low and real 4wd
If you are going off road it's the jeep. Running behind for the kids soccer game... Bronco!
In offroad also Bronco is better , jeep is garbage no one will prefer to drive a kreep
@@hotrod7603 that bronco sport is a toy compared to the Trailhawk. It could never keep up.
Nice! Great mashup!
Both seemed biased towards the bronco. I looked at and test drove both and decided to go with the Trailhawk. I even lifted it and put some 31” tires on. I liked the way it looked and drove better. Felt more premium inside. Another huge factor was towing capacity of 4500lbs. The bronco can only tow what every small SUV can tow 2200lbs
I’ll take the transfer case of the Jeep. Nice comparison, thank you.
Honestly, it's a huge point in favor of the Jeep - no question
I will say this I have driven several of the "baby" broncos and the escape. They are tuned totally differently and inside ford did a good job with the interior. I would still take the jeep only because of the transfer case.
Too bad they stopped offering the 2.0L Turbo on the Cherokee TrailHawk, especially with the 295 ft lbs of torque it makes.
Plus the rear locker ;)
Cherokee wins for me. Just a better vehicle still
Trailhawk wins for offroad there’s not even a competition here.
The Wildpeak tire option is an amazing tire. It's an all *weather*, not an all season tire. I have those on my Renegade Trailhawk and I took it up to Telluride, CO in deep snow in 2019 and the tire is awesome in the snow.
This episode of Auto Trader presented by Ford
I don't know where you live, but in NW Ohio the bronco is way more than the trailhawk. This is more of a Ford fan review. Even the ads between segments is all Ford! Not sure, but seems staged to boost Ford.
Terrible review, this is proof that "experts" are paid for reviews by manufactures. They start off their review telling you what experts they are. At 1:31 minutes into it they are talking off road "it's better than what it that called the Gladiator". Unibody vs. full frame for off road and you state a unibody is better. Only the most gullible person will believe that, and you are doing these folks a terrible disservice. this sounds like a Consumer Reports reviewing a 1988 Suzuki Samurai.
At 14:28, as she said "you are probably not a serious off-roader if you buying Jeep." made me laugh and believe this couple knows nothing. 🤣
The Bronco Sport is more in line with the Renegade Trailhawk, not the Cherokee.
Well, that's the old engine on the Cherokee. I have the 2.0 Trailhawk, that's the only Petrol engine available in Europe for the Cherokee, and it's much quicker and powerful. I would go with the Trailhawk all day.
The V6 has better lower end torque and it's better for toying. If your just going to have it as a daily driver and hardly take it off road the 2.0L is great for that. Other wise it is better to go for the V6.
We don't have the 2.0 available in the US. The Wrangler had the diesel available in the European and Eastern markets, we only got it in 2020

@@paulj9821 , I tried to build one on the website and am not able to.
Interesting that the comparison is between a platform & technology dating back to 2014 vs. a new ground up 2021 Bronco . One would expect the Bronco to blow the Trailhawk away but it doesn't. The Trailhawk has stood the test of time, the real comparison will be when the JCT is completely redesigned & re-engineered into a new model.
Off road the Trailhawk kills the Bronco
Off road, towing, handling.... Bronco sport is just a flex with 3 more inches of ground clearance and smaller engines.
i bought a trailhawk 2021 in April i choose it over the bronco sport mainly because they didn't have any badlands to test drive just the 3 cylinder and I didn't like it i know the 2.0 would smoke the trail hawk because i own a f150 with a eco boost but as a 4x4 the trail hawk has track record i live in Baja and the way people talk about turbocharger problems i felt one turbo is enough.
It’s funny how many people who don’t know enough about cars, automatically assume that two cars built on the same platform are the same vehicle.
Put the jeep in sport mode and it will be quicker 0 to 60.
Also the Jeep is very nice inside, and the seats are amazingly comfortable.
Max tow on Cherokee is 1000lbs more than the big bronco.
Cherokee wins hands down. I got a fully loaded Cherokee with the v6 or 37k.
Got a clean 2014 TH at auction for 11,200!
I chose the Jeep Trailhawk because I can flat tow it behind my RV, but great review between these two vehicles!

About "stealing easter eggs" motiff. During World War II, when Ford & Willys produced GPs, Ford was responsible for the original Jeep's slab-sided look with 9 slot grille to facilitate mass production. At the end of the war, Willys trademarked the 7 slot grille. Also, the first Land Rover was 90% Jeep, in case there are more accusations of copying.
The jeeps have advanced so much since then, so it's really a mute point. Ford did copy along of the wrangler
The first Land Rover was 90% rust, oil, and tractor...
It is a escape with a electronic 4x4 system and skid plates?
I am a Thawk guy all day long. Good review tho. Not enough 4x4 testing.
For the price of a jeep cherokee trailhawk you could get a little older grand cherokee laredo (trailrated) and put a 3 inch lift on it with slightly bigger tires. That's what I did and I think it seems smoother without the air suspension. Jeep is legendary as far as off-road capability when it comes to technical conditions and the limited slip differential is sweet. I've only had to use 4 low once or twice but it is a beast when it does. Also the 3.6 is probably a more reliable engine than the turbo in the long run but who knows right now for sure.
I bought a 2005 Grand Cherokee Limited with the Quadra-Drive II, which will beat both of these vehicles off-road and much cheaper. Plus it has the 5.7L and tows 7200 pounds.
This was a great Ford commercial.
Exactly
seemed a bit bias but im glad these companies push each other to try harder and experiment more
Seems a bit truthful to me. The Trailhawk is a Chrysler product after all.
The sport would be more like a renegade than the Cherokee? Yah I looked up some of the stats and the Renegade Trailhawk would be a better comparison with the Bronco Sport. They are a lot closer to size and price range.
So you compare vehicles based on size and price only? You're getting almost the same capability and infact a better power to weight ratio at a cheaper price, and you're what, complaining its 'too cheap'? And What stats? This vehicle even has more ground clearance than the cherokee trailhawk!! lol
Great point on how the option packages work. Why not just pick everything off a menu. Why only the bigger engine on the Badlands?
So far 4 dealers in south Florida told me they had a badlands on the lot. I flew to them only to find they haven’t had one in weeks and have no idea if/when they’ll have another. With that said I also went to buy a wrangler unlimited that was “in stock” only to have a sales person try to sell me a 2017 because they don’t have any wranglers.
Do the broncos come with all the same skid plates that Trailhawk does?
This video lucks out from people not seeing the downvotes on their commercial
I don't know how the cherokee drives. But I tried the bronco sport and the ride on road wasn't good at all. And that was be coming from driving a 2006 grand cherokee. I wanted to go the Bronco since I felt it looked so cool lol. But that ride.
I ordered one with fender flares and bronco mud flaps. Would love to see some videos with those addon's then just all leather and moonroof.
Just ordered mine as well but ended up not getting the fender flares. Has yours arrived yet? I was told my wait would be around 8-12 weeks
I own a 2021 Cherokee trailhawk with factory rock rails. It's a small item for some but with the rock rails factory mud guards cannot be installed on the front. Keep being told Jeep is working on a fix. Yeah right!
Ya so the reality is if you actually want to off road with wranglers and big Broncos buy a Cherokee, if you want to look the part but not be able to actually do the turf stuff buy a bronco, that's were the savings will be.
The Bronco may be $37,000 to build it online. Now go to a dealership and see what your payment is going to be. $600 a month. Hard pass. Get the full size
The Cherokee Trailhawk has several advantages, like 30+MPG hwy with the 2.0T, low-range, and about double the towing capacity.
Both are at the top of the CUV class for offroading.
trailhawk also has true skid plates and a better lockers because it's set up as axels. While broncos set up is basically not doing it. it's like a sticker. also real 4WD, transfer case. 4low. and don't forget v6...... bronco has a better highway on flat ground..... wrangler and then 4runner and then cherokee is very close to a 4runner (the edge goes to 4runner because better lift options and ground clearance. MFC cherokee lift will get you a ground clearnce almost 14" at lowest point.)
Not too much bias here !?! Jeep didn't even get a chance as to which one was the favorite. Don't forget, the Bronco is still a FORD !
Does the trail hawk have an adjustable lumbar support like the Bronco. Makes a difference on a rough ride.
Jeep guys are tough.
My 3”2019 TH does.
I appreciate this video as I was heavily considering the Jeep Cherokee trailhawk and even test drove one and now feel like I want to see if the Bronco sport may work for me.
I hope you didn’t fall for it.
Love the 3.2L engine in the TH.
If that Corkcicle canteen is anything like mine, it's as reliable as my trailhawk. Nice combo!
Here's the thing. You want a 4x4 or pavement princess?? Get a trail hawk!! Also I live in Canada... snow...we get alot of it... trail hawk is deadly in snow.
What mode do you use for snow? Snow mode or auto? I've heard just use auto but wasn't sure which is actually better
@@D2500R well snow mode does work in "certain" snow. It comes in many forms. But ya snow does work cause you get less wheel spin. I would play around with it.
@@D2500R Snow mode will always start the transmission in 2nd gear to avoid spinning in the snow. Auto mode will detect temperature and snow and will automatically switch to snow algorithm
I have the Bronco Sport Badlands and i love it.
On my 2nd Renegade Trailhawk and I always add Falken Wildpeak AT3W. Best tires
Trailhawk looks much sexier too! Don't forget the style points over Bronco.
I just got the Jeep Cherokee TRAILHAWK 2022 best thing I ever did....
I thought this was going to be a real review, and not a promo' video. They say you would spend less buying the Bronco, but then says he'd get the Badlands version. If you want to spend less (nothing wrong with that!), stick to the base model Bronco, but then should be comparing it to Honda CRV or Toyota RAV4. The Bronco has a nice look to it, but it's out of its league in performance against the Trailhawk.
Badlands for under $40k? Really, my first check shows 2021's on Carvana for $77k-$62k. W/O the "Oh, I just gotta have one hype markup", $64K no matter how much Ford shows a watered-down version for mid 20's, good luck paying that.
Trailhawk FTW, they are extremely capable for what it is.
But they’re Chrysler products FTL.
I'd honestly rather have the bronco sport for everything I'll be doing except for one stat - I've got a boat, and the bronco isn't rated to pull it but the Cherokee is. Guess I'd go for the Cherokee.
and the Trailhawk will actually be able to go off road if you ever want to where as the Bronco Sport will be stuck in a parking lot.
But for the same price you could get an actual Bronco which bumps the number up to 3500 not much more, but certainly more capable than a grand Cherokee
@@JS-qi1ou what? a Fully loaded Bronco is over 60k where as a fully loaded Cherokee can be had for $35k
@@paulj9821 yeah I thought this was the Grand Cherokee TrailHawk.
@@JS-qi1ou "For the price"? We're not talking about the Grand Cherokee here, which even with the 3.6L can out tow the full size Bronco by 4000 lbs. (Yes, that's 7500 lbs of towing capacity on a grand cherokee).
Even so, a lesser equipped Cherokee KL model for far less money and the tow package nets a 4500 lb. capacity.
Just to point out the "N" button!!! One button press to disconnect the transmission for Flat Tow behind let's say a RV. The Trailhawk has the "N" button for flat tow and the sport does NOT flat tow. At least by the info I found. And I know many RVers get jeeps because of their flat tow capability!
When Lyn is doing KBB, her demeanor is that buddy next door casually telling me what she thinks about a car. Here, she seems more serious, like a professor giving a lecture about her interpretations of this vehicle.
Decent review. Considering the BS was meant to compete against the Jeep Compass or Renegade, I think the fact people are even considering it up against a Cherokee Trailhawk is pretty respectable.
I traded my Flex in on a Badlands Sport based solely on looks. I like the looks better than the Jeep. But, I have been pretty amazed at where I’ve been able to go in it. I wish I’d had them trade up the tires to the wild peak tires. The pirelli are respectable and on road are good and I found them great in deep snow. In wet clay they meet their limitations but I haven’t gotten stuck yet. I go on some local trails that the atvs and Jeep’s use and it’s done well. I did land it in a 2 foot hole going up a rocky trail that I didn’t check first and I tore up the plastic bumper a bit but even then it walked out of the hole. I find it rides very well over rough terrain. I’ve been super happy with it especially since it’s my first off-road capable vehicle. Yes the towing is limited but that’s not a concern for me anyway.
I’m certain Ford looked long snd hard at every Jeep model when designing both the Bronco Sport and the big boy Bronco. I’m in Canada and mine rang in at $46,000 CDN.
What, the Bronco sport is a direct competitor to the Cherokee KL as they are in the same class.
@@paulj9821 Lol.
@@JeeprzCreepers56 well I said competitor but I assure you it’s fails even at that since it’s a pig with lipstick on
Stay with the Jeep Cherokee, the Bronco is just a toy (not like its past). The Jeep is mechanical while the Bronco uses clutches on the rear end. The Jeep has a 4 low as well. Dont listen to the reviewers here. I mean look at them just driving on a flat dirt road, lmao. There are other posts showing the Bronco and the Cherokee driving off road and the Cherokee whipped its ass. Who wants a Escape Chassis haha
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The Jeep is far more beautiful to me. Sad it’s discontinued.
Jeep hands down when it comes to looks, creature comfort and offroad capability.
100% agree
You guys really glossed over the mechanical rear locker in the Jeep. If you actually go offroad, it's very important.
Ford commercial 🙄 He agreed to everything she says about each vehicle... he likes her. Yes dear, Yep that's great dear. I want what you want, and like what you like dear.
Cherokee TrailHawk elite all day everyday and we know why everyone has said it locker, real 4 low, oh and skid plates + functional rock sliders I see Cherokee TrailHawks coming into there own big time for after market mods with the popularity of the segment for the family off roader.
Oh Real nice. Comparing a 10 year old design to a fresh effort on a dry dirt road. I have compared these two in ruts, mud, and snow and the Jeep is superior. Let's look at either turbo motor versus the V6 after 100k miles and see which is in better condition. The V6.
The bronco sport in my opinion looks better. Plus has more room in the interior. I tried the trailhawk but cannot drive it comfortably. I am 6 foot 10 inch frame with 315lbs of weight.
Yeah, but for the 99.9% of us that aren't 6 foot 10 inch or taller....
I went back on the video. It sure didn't look like you were going slower over the bumps...also, the background scenery is different, meaning you didn't drive the same route for both to compare. Seems like a Ford skewed comparison. I like both...but I like the Jeep better. The trails I've done in my Trailhawk would blow your mind..
Agreed.
Same trails. It was all shot on Maple Springs Truck Trail in Orange County. You admit an inherent bias in loving your Trailhawk (which is fine, and congrats on owning one) but it IS a bias. Both are really good at having fun in the dirt. And keep enjoying what you have.
@@TheHooniverse The TH is more than just having fun in the dirt.
No true low range = no sale. TH has a low gear in the PTU and RDU, so there is less torque on the drive line. Oh, TH locker is way better. I think they took the rear shocks out of the Jeep to film this too.
clearly an off-the-cuff review and a pretty good waste of our time
I want to see a side by side comparison between a Bronco Sport Badlands and a base Wrangler. Both on and off road. How good does the BS do in comparison.
And Technically.. That Bronco Sport Is Basically The Successor To The 2008-2012 2nd Gen Escape🤷🏽♂️😂
Which is not a bad thing. It’s still a very high demand used suv. Because not all ppl like the egg like bubble Escape. 2012 Boxy escapes under 100k with AWD and V6 fetch high prices. Even in 2021. They’re dated in tech and interior but if you’re only doing very mild off road stuff they can be surprisingly competent.
You can tell someone was paid off by Ford on this. They didn't even mention the fact that the Cherokee has a true rear locker, how could they have skipped that very important detail? For offroad purposes (which is the main reason for buying a Badlands), the Badlands Bronco Sport is subpar compared to the Cherokee Trailhawk. They should've compared it to like a Subaru Crosstrek. Only thing I got from this is how cushy the suspension is on the Bronco.
Do a true off road comparison and the Jeep will drive away from the Bronco Sport, people who use their rigs off road could care less that the 0-60 time is faster in the Bronco.
These two obviously want the look of an off road vehicle without the true capability. If you don't have a low range you don't get far anywhere here in Utah. Jeep wins and can also tow twice as much...4500lbs vs 2200. I can tow a boat, a small travel trailer etc. With the Bronco you can tow a pair of jet skis and you are maxed out.
These two think taking a gravel driveway is off-roading 😆
Wow, you guys didn't even mention the Cherokee has been around for years in current form vs the new Bronco Sport... rather you just kept calling the Jeep "dated". Not really a fair comparison there at all. Also, the Jeep wins hands down if you're going to tow or use it on something a bit or even more than a bit more difficult than that technically simple level dry dirt road. This would be a better comparison for Soccer Moms to be honest. And there's no way I'd ever choose a 4 cyl turbo over a NA v6 for such a vehicle. Ever! Again, congrats on telling everyone which one a Soccer Mom would should consider.
I think the summary was dead on: If you want something more off road and towing capable the Trailhawk is the pick. If you want a smooth ride driving to the mall maybe in a snow storm or the occasional dirt road the Ford is the way to go. I went from a stock 14 Cherokee Latitude 3.2L to a 17 Trailhawk 3.2L lifted 2" with 31" KO2s and they are totally right on how much more "doggy" the TH is with all that added weight. My mileage went from 18/26 in the Latitude to 16/21 in the TH but at least I don't have to run that expensive 91 octane for the turbo that you can't always find in the back country off roading. Maybe a more fair comparison is the Cherokee Latitude equivalent now with the 2.0 vs the Bronco Sport 4 cyl since they stole the "GOAT mode" concept from Jeep who's been offering the same for a long time.
Next time you pick people to rate a pair of vehicles try not to choose people that are not pre disposed to one of the vehicles being rated. That showed in this video based on the amount of time spent with each SUV. The Ford revieved twice the time that the Jeep did.
Thank God your music preference wasn't louder in the background... I found it barely tolerable as it was. I'll take a 2 year-old depreciated Trailhawk over the Bronco any day.
Why can’t Ford at least give people the option of a N/A v6 ? It just makes no sense to at least have that as an option. They got a ton of engine options on the f-150 and only 2 for this. SMH Ford
I ended up getting a trailhawk when I was looking at the two of them. When I was looking, I couldn’t find a badlands in the US for under 40k. I bought my trailhawk new for 29k and it’s better off-road and has a higher towing capacity. I wish I had the acceleration and mpg of the badlands but I made the better choice for my purposes
Same with me. I do feel a little slow on the highway but I've taken obstacles off road that a Bronco Sport just couldn't handle. Also spent about 10k less.
First Year ADM on the Bronco Sport. Badlands would top out at 38k MSRP basically fully loaded. ADM has then listed for $10k more. No thanks.
Dealership gouge. Stupid thing is that people are paying $10k over on a depreciating asset just to have it NOW.
If you go to Jeep and Ford and use the build tool, select Base Renegade TrailHawk it is $29k, the Base Bronco Sport is $27.2
No options picked, how the page comes up. You can argue which Base has the better set-up, but straight up MSRP (which they were talking about) they were not wrong.
@@BHShaman oh, the bronco sport is much better than the renegade. But the cherokee has an actual transfer case in the trailhawk model, the entire bottom side is covered in skid plates, and it has a mechanical locker instead of a clutch locker. The Cherokee is just a little more hardcore than the bronco sport. But I would rather have the bronco sport over a renegade any day. I should have mentioned I got a Cherokee trailhawk with an MSRP of 40k for 29k
@@BHShaman The base renegade (which is not the trailhawk as that's the highest trim) starts at 25k. The badlands bronco sport which is marketed as the most off road worthy version starts at 38k which is still 1k more then what the cherokee trailhawk starts at and other then maybe mpg the cherokee is better in every way. Idek why the renegade is even brought up.
If you can please compare it to the new Jeep Compass trailhawk
Bronco, nuf said!
Yep...no need to say anything about that broncette.
I am waiting for my Badlands. I don't know about the Trailhawk, but the backseats are a little tight in the Bronco. You are not comfortably hauling two 6' adults in the backseats for long trips. There is plenty of room in the front row, though. The Badlands will be my daily driver. However, a lift and 31" KM2 tires are a must to complete the look.
I disagree on the backseats. We own a bronco sport. I am 6 foot 10 inches 315 lbs and I feel comfortable sitting in the backseat. of course it also depends on who is sitting up front.
@@richards1191 You're 6' 10"? You must have gotten the convertible.
@@thybigballs lol no convertible. But my gf is a little over 5 foot so she has her seat toward a bit. I can see a issue if she was tall and had to have the seat back, but more room in back to get feet in and out.
you could get a lift and 32" KO2s on the Trailhawk if you want something that will really go offroad.
@@joetrzaska I just do that with my 2002 Chevy avalanche. It also works great as a recovery tryck
This was a sick ford commercial
That Cherokee is so much better then the bronco!
