    Hi. Sound deadening mostly works by absorbing reflections. You're right in the sense that the sound will be more focused and wasted less, but wrong about it being louder. It's almost always quieter after deadening, but since you're hearing more of the pure direct sound and less of the first second and third reflections, your sound will be much clearer. This clarity effect happens the most with low bass frequencies.
    Cool installation video though, I'm considering doing this soon!

    Thank you for this video, I bought two new door panels to replace my old ones (the guy who owned my car previously fucked the interior with this blue shit) so I got two new stock ones (great condition) and followed this video (never have taken a door panel off before this) and it went very smoothly. Saved me the cost of labor from having to pay somebody to do it.

      No mate,thank you.I finished the install last night.First door took me 5 hours and second one took me half the time...lol! When I finished the first door I tested the sound and compared.Night and day!! Its no wonder that sound deadening is highly regarded in the car audio world.I never used to believe it and quite frankly was too lazy to ever try it.Its amazing how the tedious,hard type of work yields greater results than trying to "buy" it with better equipment!

    Hi mate,though I did get noticeable improvement in sound quality after deadening,I am wondering if going back in and closing the big hole with plexiglass would yield further improvement? Do you have any experience with this?I'm thinking of upgrading my mid woofer from a 5.25 to a 6.5 and putting more power on it.Thats why I'm asking.

It seems they aren’t selling the sound deadening equipment that you used in this video is there any other options I can follow up on. Also was the audio+ system you installed worth it or should I consider buying not oem audio system

    • @zaceryhammond1144
      @zaceryhammond1144 Před 3 lety

      Oem audio plus is definitely worth it but the car honestly isn’t your luxury car and has a lot of rattles and such they are made to be light not sound deadened also w a 1 k amp it has a hard time powering the alt and you will feel it driving

  • @RED89P13
    @RED89P13 Před 7 lety

    Is the small plate you forgot to put back on of any importance? I removed mine because it rattles like no other and don't seem to have any function. I don't want to find out I messed something up by having it out it's been out in my car for months.

    • @boostedmedia
      @boostedmedia  Před 7 lety

      +Brandon Inkel I actually remembered and put it back in off camera. I don't believe it to be of importance, but seeing as it does sit right near the airbag sensor and I wasn't sure of its purpose, I thought it best to leave it in place.

  •  Před 5 lety

    Did you have to reset your window control after doing this? I had window replaced and was told it needed to be reset, dealership told me I needed to replace all door components, I cant control passenger door and window doesn't let itself back up like it should when closed....

  • @dlroto
    @dlroto Před 7 lety +1

    Good vid, although You should've cleaned the area first and you should've used a roller to install it to ensure proper adhesion.

    • @boostedmedia
      @boostedmedia  Před 7 lety

      +dlroto The car was almost brand new and didn't need cleaning, and the matting stuck very firmly without using a roller. I actually had one out ready to use but didn't end up needing it.

    Just a tip, you don’t take the whole paper mate, you take only a piece glue it to the door and pull the rest with one hand while using the other to help stick it. The way you did is way harder to place the entire piece without the back paper and not glue it on the wrong place.

      +Zero TheR not significantly if you only do the doors. But it makes a massive difference if you do the wheel wells and boot area. Had my previous car done throughout.

    They should have designed the inner door skin to adhere to the back of the actual door card, it would be much easier?

    • @boostedmedia
      @boostedmedia  Před 5 lety

      Needs to be on the metal part of the door to dampen the vibrations transmitted through the metal.

    • @SkepticCat-pz1zz
      @SkepticCat-pz1zz Před 5 lety

      Boosted Media I understand that, but once the door card is reattached it would be very much in contact with the doors metal. Acoustically the the sound dampening media should be directly opposing outer door material. Mounting it on the inside under the door card seems pretty pointless.
