This made a lot of guitarists happy.
Fendercore

They show how to play metalcore using fender
go on your way ye, fender with EMG's haha
Riptides Covers emg always makes all to metal
go on your way definitely, I'd love to have one of those Jim Roots signature
aight, think i got all their tunings sussed out.
A# F A# D# G C - hollow, twenty one, alive, youngblood’s, deadlocked, enemy, basic hate, stitch(ending breakdown pitched down to drop F), gravity, never enough, my grave is mine to dig
G F A# D# G C - blueprints, the river, spineless, desperate, two years, southbound, witness, deadweight
G# D# G# C# F A# - don’t let me fade away, indestructible, disdain(ending breakdown for disdain is pitch shifted to DOUBLE DROP D# WOW)
F F A# D# G C - johnny cash, low
hope this helps all for those who are wondering what tuning to play in!
Thx I’m a bass player but this is sill good to know
You're awesome
thank you so much this makes so much easier wich song I am gonna learn next
i love you i just learned dont let me fade away
FURY is also in drop g#
Cody's voice is so freaking soothing on this record wtf
He sounds similar to Jesse Cash from Erra imo
Nearly 4 years have passed... 3:20 is still one of the best endings of all time.
Always come back to see that part
At 2:03 when Chris goes all in on the same riff with Cody and Seth. Yes.
2:04 love how there arms move in sync
2:00 RIFF OF THE YEAR
So true
2019 and it still holds the title
Honestly, probably my favorite riff off the entire album.
2020 and still holds it
@@tofuthericecake what do you think of veil of maya's "outsider" at 1:26? a really fun riff too
Our new album Deadweight is out now! Get it at wagewarband.com and come see us live on tour.
Wage War Already have it and already know every song!
Wage War The album is amazing guys! Please do more of these playthroughs, if you have the time of course lol. This was awesome.
Wage War Bought it on Friday and it's amazing. You guys really did a great job and topped the first album which was already fantastic. I think you guys are easily one of the best metal bands to come out in recent years. Saw you guys on Warped tour I believe last year as well and you guys absolutely crushed it live. Excited to see what the future holds for you guys.
Making them strats sound as heavy as my ex
You guys are perfect. Don't change, love absolutely everything from you guys thus far.
foldingchaircore
tuning is drop a# with the low string tuned down to g
GShot713 so G D# standard?
Felipe Euan G-F-A#-D#-G-C. It's like 7-string standard tuning (BEADGBE) tuned down two whole steps but the sixth string is removed.
man, those guitar strings are THICC
Brandon Maciel They use a 12-56 set but the 56 is replaced with an 80, so the lowest string can stay in tune for Drop A# and G (same as A# but only the lowest string is tuned down).
Benji P.C. why don't they just use 7 strings?
Joshua Widmer speed, comfort, finger agility
Adam Jones but you can have those on even an 8. I know for a fact because I play an 8
arent those jim root strats?
2:01 fucking best riff
This is the best musically talented metalcore band I’ve ever heard
So much heavy heavy on Strato's. We can all sleep well and live well knowing that this exists.
Loving those Strats!
I absolutely love this band. Both of their albums are fantastic.
strats with EMGs... rad!!!
Damn, watching that Bass at 2:35 is so soothing for some reason
I love it how you guys are playing drop G on a strat. If that's not badass in itself I don't know what is?
playing a 7 string.........
@@bobleshingle13 lol
Yes yes yes!! More play throughs!!!
best album of the year hands down
I love watching play thrus they're so neat
can't wait to either make or find a tab for this
This is so sick!!! I love Wage War
I love this so much
such a good band!!!!ugh!!!
This is so sick! Would love to see this with drums as well though
Such an amazing band
2:11 what the fuck
dude i fucking know....
What am I missing?
That finger movement though. whew smooth lol
Holy hell man. That's skill right there.
Rob Ctrc That one part looked really hard, but he played it so effortlessly
Best sounding music ever made🙏🤘🏻
This band is awesome
this is so good
such a great band!
WHY DOESNT THIS HAVE 10 MILLION VIEWS
Love this band so much! \m/
Both use the Jim Root Strat?! Daaaamn
The intro riff reminds me of Architects
this video makes me want to learn how to play the guitar
It's so awesome you should try it, that feeling you get when you nail a part is awesome
This band 🤘
GOOD SHIT
such a cool video
I love when Seth and Cody play in unison. :)
Active pickups in Fender Stratocasters - YES, especially loving Cody's black-out strat.
Who writes/crafts the majority of the riffs on you guys' record?
I admire how they changed the sound of the guitars tho!! 👏🏾
Wow, very nice
Really wanting to play this song on guitar
you guys are awesome any european tour on the horizon?
That bass is only $300 and sounds amazing. Just ordered one.
Great Song time to play it on the Guitar.
question answered: does fender djent? hell yeah fendjent or stratodjent
But Wage War isn't djent...
JohnC546 true got a little enthusiastic but I'll change it to stratocore then haha
Djentocaster
fuck i love these play though videos!!!
can you guys play an acoustic version of this???
still watching
Please do a play through of Low, Ghost, and Prison!!!!! I would love to see a play through video!
@wagewar
Hey y’all guess what? This song slaps!
Seth taught me this riff and it’s all i play
So fucking sick. These dudes fucking shred!!
Would be tight if they did this for all of them
I'd prefer instruments only for a play through.
Hehe, awesome guys!
Are we actually hearing them play or is it just the actual studio version playing over the video?
Wow😍😍😍😍😍😍
yes.
What a fender bender we got here
EMG makes anything heavy as shit.
Fender Stratocaster? Wooww I didn’t see that coming 😉
Great play through
No disdain playthrough?
I heard he uses "not even slinky" strings mixed with some strings from a 8 strings set. So it would be 12-80 gauge. Does anyone know the gauge of the strings in between?
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
It makes perfect sense, but it's kinda funny to realize they must have filmed this the same day they filmed the music video. They're all wearing the same exact clothes as they are in the video. Like I said, makes sense, but kinda funny to notice.
TABSSSSSSSS
As plain Jane as a lot of their guitar work is, I highly suggest seeing Wage War live. These guys are one of the tightest live acts on tour right now and I highly suggest checking out a show.
I wouldn't describe their playing as 'plain jane'. Stick to the acoustic there buddy.
Well I still think it's a matter of perspective. Obviously this isn't as technical as bands like....Within the ruins, Periphery, Animals as Leaders or even Unearth with all the solos and spidery-finger riffs and all. Most people might have an easier time learning Wage War songs compared to those other bands' song.
That said, there's nothing wrong with not being super technical coz these dudes are heavy as hell and sound badass and I'd love to see them live.
I guess I wasn't making that comparison immediately bc Wage War is a more traditional style of metal core with 'djent' or some technical elements. As opposed to making technical playing their entire focus such as Periphery or AaL.
There is a pretty significant equipment difference between Wage and those bands also.. Wage is rocking 6 strings instead of 7 or 8 strings :). As a 6 string player myself I relate more to Wage's playing style because as you said, it will be easier for me to learn.. however, for instance right now 'The River''s time signatures and palm muting rhythm has me progressing a very slow rate lol.
didnt know aaron gillespie was in wage war
it's so fucking brutal guys, very well!!
didnt know fender can do this kinda song!
It's really all in the humbuckers and strings, you can play metal on any solid body electric.
Yup. It's the emg's and thicker strings. A proper setup too, Such as truss rod adjustments, widening the nut, adjusting the springs.
VJ why would you say fender can do this kind of song? I'm a drummer but guitars have always interested me. Is a fender not supposed to play this kind of music compared to an ESP or Epiphone?
Ruuddeeyy there's a common misconception that strats aren't typically used for higher gain tones like this. But it's proven over and over again that they can be, no problem. It's all about the player, and the setup of the instrument.
Is it because strats in the past have been used for more generic rock bands rather then something more heavy? And I assume its the tune and drop of the guitar correct?
Take a que from Sumerian. We don't like vocals in our playthroughs.
Xander L. Instrumental playthroughs seen on a whole different level since they started that. Definitely something other bands/labels need to pick up on.
Xander L. Oceans Ate Alaska don’t have vocals in theirs
I was found out what key are they using in this song and I can't believe why does a 6 guitar string can drop to G setting.... What size of string do they use?
12-56 but take out the 56 and put it an 80
please for the love of Pete do one of these for Low..... i would do about anything for that lol!
Does anyone know what tuning the bass is in? I’m a bass player myself, I can’t figure out what he’d be tuned to on a four string bass that would allow such low notes without buzzing out or sounding muddy as hell on his E string.
You’d have to set your bass up to play that that. Much thicker strings, bridge saddle adjustments, but adjustments. Don’t go throw a pack of regular slinkies on there and drop down to G; literally nothing will happen.
adam martin he's playing from low to high G F A# D#
Is it just me or this mix sound amazing on cellphones?
Wish the bass was a bit more active
Wow
Does anyone know what bass that is I want a bass that has that classic look but punches you in the face out of nowhere
Really good but Jeremy producing means parts of new album sounds like adtr. Especially few breakdowns
Which string gauge do you use for the low g string bro?
80
🥰
NEW SONG?
KHRYS XD a bit late on that bud
Never thought Magisk is being a bassist besides playing CS
2mins is the section most guitarists wanna see
I BURY THE JUDGMENT!!!!!
definitely was not expecting baritone strats with EMGs
Blake McConnell idk if they're baritone, they look just like the jim root strats with the standard 25.5" scale length
oh yeah you're definitely right, i always forget the jim root strat exists.
someone forgot to colour grade the flat colour profile ;)
Bassist not hitting the triplets at 2:54.. Cmon bro, flikathewrist.
he never plays riffs either just hits root notes, would sound so much more boss if the bass followed all the licks in the riffs
what strings gauge? please anyone knows🙏🏻
Bagus SW 12-56 but take out the 56 and put in an 80
Awesome as fuck!
2:31

Anybody know the tuning?
tom del it's in drop g
tom del G-F-A#-D#-G-C to be specific, they play in Drop A# and they tune the lowest string down to G for some songs.
