I love the the lore tab for this version of luna's howl. For those that don't know luna was a dog that got killed by the hive and you can see her grave at a vex gate on the moon. The lore tab for this version says that Shaxx gave Josef(luna's owner) a box with 2 war beasts puppies in it.
I thought it was Valus Forge/Lord Saladin that gave him the 2 War Beasts.
I think Saladin gave Shaxx the box (can't remember), but I'm pretty sure his name was Joseph :0
In the dialgoue when you go to grab lunas howl for the first time, isnt he talking with them in the hall of champions in front of your guardian? lol

Yes it's worth it. Heal clip/incandescent is a workhorse for solar builds.
Luna's Howl also has pretty good reload speed, so that helps with the Heal Clip procs, and Incan. needs no further explanation for how good it is in PvE. The other alternatives are either a sidearm that has no guaranteed drop source, so gl grinding that, or Abyss Defiant, which I dislike for the aesthetics. Luna's is just a fairly basic-looking hand cannon, so it EASILY can be thrown onto any build and look good with the right shader.
I friggin love this thing on controller. I've always liked hand cannons but didn't like the recoil pattern of them aside from on 180s. Luna's Howl shoots like a dream for me- I just wish it could roll Firefly.
This is because hand cannons aren't flinch friendly. You occasionally have to ads to correct your aim with them otherwise bullet magnetism will not be in your favor.

Yup. Been wishing there was a Heliocentric hand cannon for PvE, and here came LH. Solo content is so much better on my poor hunter. Trash actually 1-taps, so if you're hurting you can save yourself with a little cover and a couple yeah mobs.
I ran wayyyy too many solo que Onslaughts, but now she's mine.
Heal clip+MH is the better all around roll for pvp and pve while slideshot is better for dueling in PvP albeit a terrible gimmick in 1v insert number more than 1 here. Slideshot is good on paper but terrible in practice considering the current meta.

Your advice on how to get luna's/nf back in the day was what made me follow you, I never got nf (I did get close a few times) but your tips and encouragement made this non pvp main really try to improve and stick it out and while I mostly dislike pvp as it is nowadays that feeling of trying to get better has still stuck with me. I love 180's. They're the only hand cannon that feels good to me so having a hand cannon that feels like a 180 but hits like 140 is allowing me to expand experience a vit and I'm here for it.

Both perks just build on hitting an enemy. It’s a MONSTER of a dueling roll.

The funny thing is that OG MagHowl was really strong in PvE and slept on by most. It was like only hitting 2 precision shots gave a 50% boost in damage or something until you got a kill and could be continuously re-procced on beefier targets. People just focused on the Maghowl twins ruining Console PvP for months.
It wasn't slept on just over shadowed by better primaries/energy slots like Redrix Claymore.
Its wild, I HC's are probably my least used weapon class and I landed a throwaway roll of this with heal clip & precision instrument and I've ened up using it in IB all week.
I got exactly the same roll. But I didn't try it in pvp thinking it won't work. I'll try it tonight

I’ve had Luna’s Howl attuned since the day it rereleased. The only roll I really wanted was Heal Clip + Incandescent. It took me until last earlier this morning and probably 200 drops between Onslaught and Brave Weapon Chest drops.
Honestly I had lost hope it would drop prior to Final Shape. Going to spend the last 2 days trying for a Cascade Point Bait and Switch Edge Transit. A shiny would be nice but I’d be satisfied with the Cascade roll to go with my Envious+Bait and Switch Roll.
Loving the new Luna's. Already have more than 5k kills on my Incandescent/Heal Clip roll.
Super solid review
I’m not a crucible player and I’m not a HC user in PvP but I tried an eye of the storm/opening shot roll with hammer forged/ricochet rounds and I was actually doing great. It actually surprised me. I was on PS5 as well.
This roll is goated and no one is talking about it. Opening shot is fantastic on lunas, it’s the only perk aside from maybe slide shot that extends the weapons range, and gives an insane amount of aim assist. Eye of the storm also helps a lot in duels.

Subsistence and incandescence is a fun combo to use great for add clear 😄
The encore/precision instrument roll I got has been my favorite roll in pvp so far. It made pvp fun for me now which is rare for me nowadays.
My best guess for an enhanced Mag Howl is just a small stat boost, probably to either Stability or Range. Given how powerful the perk is, I doubt they’d go as far as to give it more stacks on difficult targets.

Don’t sleep on encore!.. got a fullbore ricochet encore precision instrument role with a range masterwork...feels great and that 71 range is icing on the cake!
I got the exact same roll! Already have over a hundred kills with it in PVP. I'm still grinding for that slideshot / mag howl....but if I don't get it for comparison reasons...I'll be happy what this roll does for me.
Atm i got encore incadescent, but hopefully i can get better one soon

This only solidifies my love for Luna's Howl.
I love how the gun feels as a PS5 player, i got the god roll on PvE and might grind for the PvP rolls too.
Something I want to mention about enhanced incandescent that isn’t mentioned enough, is that additionally to increased the amount of scorch stacks, the tick duration of incandescent scorch get increased, as well as the tick delay. For example, with regular incandescent you get a large initial burst of aoe damage, then a tick damage number, but that number slowly goes down before the effect wears off. With the enhanced perk, scorch last longer and the tick damage decay decreases at a slower rate. This also means that the stagger capabilities of incandescent scorch also increases due to the duration increase.
last night i got a shiny luna with slideshot, mag howl, harmony, enlightened action, richochet rounds, armor piercing rounds, fluted barrel, and hexagonal rifling. stability masterwork.
Literally my first (and only) Luna's Howl shiny has Slideshot/Magnificent Howl & Heal Clip/Incandescent. Let's goooooooooooooo.

I actually got the heal clip/incandescent roll not too long ago. Feels good so far.
I do wanna say that harmony is solid as we get more and more high ammo economy specials. For instance, using something like tusk of the boar as your "primary" and then swapping to luna's for orange bars with harmony is better than people think. I use this roll on kept confidence for pve.
Enlightened and incandescent is what I finally got over the shax drop

Got the shiney, small bore, appended mag, eye of the storm, mag howl, subsistance and incandescent.
The other benefits of precision instrument is that it counters healing/ overshield use, and can secure the 3 crit when experiencing range falloff.
I don't use hand cannons in pvp, but i got a shiny drop with kill clip + eye of the storm so I played a couple iron banner games with it (on controller) and it felt pretty noice. 👍👍
You can also run Traversive Steps on Warlock to refill mag without reloading.
I got a 66 range heal clip/prec inst and its by far my favorite roll
Love heal clip incandescent with a precious scars titan. Solar juiced up banner of war and explosions
I have a full bore high cal roll with slideshot precision instrument and a range masterwork and it’s the best feeling hand cannon I’ve used
I play on m+kb and I still love Lina’s Howl as it stands rn. Feels super consistent
somehow heal clip + desperate measure is really good with ember of benevolence ability build, it really give you ability to spam nade, melee, and ability on warlock, perfect pair with verity brow exotic
I think Lunas is fine on smaller maps but on large maps it struggles a lot and I decided to use austringer with eye of storm zen moment and crimson and those 2 hand cannons can do well from farther ranges and tons of accuracy compared to lunas. Lunas I for some reason have trouble hitting rapid precision shots I’m jus not big on the 180ish feel. Not a bad hand cannon at all but when you look at all the hand cannon options we have that is also craftable it’s hard to chose Lunas over those

Incandescent heal clip my beloved
Granted I didn't try it in pvp, I gotta say that Luna's on m&k just feels right to me, I did a run of Pantheon with it, sunshot, and the neomuna one and Lunas was by far my favourite feeling of the 3
Been loving my heal clip/incandescent. Never got the crafted Zaouli's Bane, so i've been using Epochal Integration instead. While i like it, I don't care for stats for all. Hopefully I'll get a shiny one eventually.
Imo the best perk combination on Luna is Encore with Precision instrument. Just a great synergy

I have a heal clip Luna’s Howl and I love it with my Starfire Protocol Build.
Discord is a fun sleeper pick with mag howl. You have to swap a little more but it’s super easy to build a 10 stack.
I got this on a shiny roll that I’m eager to try out in PVE.
With xür sellinf hawkmoon this weekend, would you recommend buying it? Or stick with luna's howl?
I will get it but I have pulled Not Forgotten out of the vault so I’m not going to lose sleep chasing LH.
Mine rolled with Magnificent Howl & Eye of The Storm
I have that roll for sidearm also but one of the devs need to tilt it up and drop the rear sight animation as it’s tougher to see enemies or getting higher accuracy shots.
Shaxx gives you really good one after finishing its quest (smallbore+ ricohet rounds+ eye of the storm+ magnificent howl+ handling MW)
my second luna's drop was a shiny with subsistence incandescent. It's def a "me" roll, my most used legendary is a long arm with sub dragonfly lol. I like this gun a lot, but I'm sure thats also partly because I never had it back in the day

I have a smallbore richochet slide shot opening shot range mw and I love it so much
If you're using Mag Howl, you should almost Always go for the 2 tap. If you're running a damage perk for a 2 head 1 body set up, you might as well just use Kill Clip.
But what set mag howl apart from killclip is that it don't have a timer and you can swap between weapons
Sound logic if every engagement you take is a 1v1…the amount of team shots in any lobby is insane and the amount of 1 tap kills I’ve picked up following my blueberries or the amount of times I’ve helped a blueberry win and not die by hitting a 122 is pretty substantial it may not be as clip worthy or satisfying as a 2tap but it can def still help swing engagements/matches. Its literally a bow headshot with no draw time for doing what you’d normally do anyway

Still can't get used to 180 recoil @140rpm though it's just weird.
You don't need more heals on solar hunter if you know how to build it lol I can keep restoration and radiant up every single encounter in pve. Add wormhusk or assassin's cowl and you're even more set.
Bungie was pretty generous with the curated Luna's Howl so if I don't get a shiny God roll I won't sweat it too much. That said I do hope my luck improves because I haven't even got a base Luna God roll and I've only got 1 shiny all week (Full Bore/fluted barrel, High cal/appended mag, Discord/enlightened action, and Kill Clip/Desperate measures, and a stability masterwork. It's not awful by any stretch but it's not what I'm looking for.
small bore-high cal-heal clip-precision instrument-range mw on solar with radiant and benevolence is my go to after trying out so many rolls.+frostees & radiant dodge (on your mark to help lacking handling and reload), thank me later x
I have two for PvE. Incandescent/Heal Clip and Discord/Harmony. I think the Discord/Harmony roll is odd, but still fun with something like lucky pants to just pop off on a group of spread out adds. Kills refill the mag and you do increased damage. Feel like what The Last Word should be for PvE.
Also Mag Howl gives crazy damage fall off. In PvE and PvP it's nice. You get into a more medium range engagement to get the initial stacks then once you've got them you can play a bit more at range. Even more range (for the first shot) with Slideshot or Encore.
I have a full bore accurized EotS and MagH roll with a range masterwork. It performs exceptionally. Getting two stacks of magnificent Howell to kill into Shots is not that bad. You just have to be mindful of your magazine and even in the comp playlist it happens often enough to make a huge difference.

I've got an encore precision instrument roll, and while I've got a 2.6kd on controller, im awful on Mnk, but using this and midnight feel so good (probally the 100 aim assist i got 💀)

I use Luna howl with heal clip and MH on solar hunter with celestial nighthawk. It feels awesome on hunter solar subclass
A Discord/Harmony roll pairs so well with an Auto/Recombination Mountaintop. Add a Rampage/KillingTally Hammerhead for a monster loadout all from free, approachable content!
How will they retroactively enhance/make stuff craftable? Will we auto have the patterns or have to refarm for red borders?
I personally hope they add magnificent howl to eyasluna, it would be such a good combo especially since they did the same thing for d1 hawkmoon and eyasluna (making them both look similar and have somewhat the same inclusion of perks)

got the shiny with slide, mag howl, heal clip and incandescent. It’s super good but I’m not really great at pvp so I doubt I’ll see it’s full potential

that's so weird. I love the way luna's howl feels on M&K and I never used it previously. I see youtubers love guns like sunshot though and I absolutely hate the feel of that weapon. I guess it all comes down to preference. I'll keep doing work with it

Only got one Shiny so far, and I got Heal Clip/Incandescent!
One of the biggest reasons I don't use hand cannons is because of their animated diagonal kick (outside of 180's). It has always messed with my aim and threw me off. I'm grateful to have a hand cannon with an animated vertical kick. Maybe I'm an outlier in this, or I'm a complete numpty, but whatever. This'll be one that I actually try to farm for and try to use.
You're not alone. Many players, especially those using a controller, find it hard to use handcannons for the reasons you mentioned. The 180 RPM hand cannons have always been an exception, so it's great that Luna's Howl is back as a 140 RPM hand cannon with a precision frame.

Am iissing something on ember of benevolence? In the video he says, and the texts says something different then in game. Does it work on giving yourself those things or only teammates? In game it says giving your allies those things so im confused
Supposedly there’s been more testing on PI and it doesn’t really do much for anyone higher than 5 resil. I think it adds with extra damage not even a meter in range while still needing 3 crits

So back then, when I had both NF/LH like in opulence we found out the og magnificent howl was good in pve because of the constant precision damage once you had the perk going. I figured the new one wasn't going to be a nice addition to pve.

Try subsistence / incandescent, its a great combination but it starts to struggle in harder content.
Heal clip has been one of the rarest perks I've ever seen (or haven't seen) on a weapon roll. Out of about 2 dozen drops, I've only had one drop with heal clip one time. 😭
I got the dumb roll of hc+mh but will most likely never use it since I have better hand cannons prepped for final shape like the explosive+KC drop mag Kindled orchid I've saved since black armory.
All I wanted was a heal clip/incandescent roll because I only play PvE...it took over 60 drops for me to finally get that roll.... but the range is crap lol... so back to the grind
