14 k gold actually looks fairly pale, the higher the gold concentration is , the more yellow gold will be. 24k gold which is basically pure gold looks very yellow. Also, i suggest gold filled over stainless steel or sterling silver metals-that is the only way its worth the money
But itz more strong too...the lesser the gold content is...and allergic free too if any metal is mixed with gold...it becomes allergy free

Etsy is the go to place for gold filled jewelry, I have so many pieces from different sellers.
Also If you ever buy gold plated always make sure the base metal it's plated on is sterling silver, never copper or brass. If you want your gold plated jewelry to last, coat it with clear nail polish, so it doesn't tarnish or fade out.
I have a gold plated bracelet I always wear and I coated it with clear nail polish it's been like 3 months since I haven't taken it off and even shower with it and the gold hasn't rub off.
Now the difference between gold filled (GF) and gold vermeil (GV) is that GF is heated pressure bond to the base metal while GV is electroplated to the base metal. GV is required to have a base metal of sterling silver (so ask the seller what the base metal is if buying GV), but I do suggest to make sure your GF base metal is also sterling silver.
GF: water resistant, doesn't flake, long wear, Thick gold layer (atleast 5% gold weight)
GV: not water resistant, fakes after a few years, short wear, medium gold layer (atleast 2.5 microns thick)

Vermeil (vermay) is silver as the base metal before its plated. All plating needs a base, brass or silver usually . When 5he plating comes off, you can see 5he metal underneath. I hate 5hat cos I buy something and love it then it looks shit and I'm disappointed. Buying gold filled has been great for me, it's not too pricey and being nickel-free won't irritate your skin, it's the nickel that causes the reaction. The sellers I have dealt with are great on customer service and I'd go back. I have been caught out ( never by gold fill ) and I'm not prepared to lose my money. Try goldfill, if its not right for you, return it.
