Bringing back Ronaldo has turned out as a big mistake. He is not a type of player that you keep him on the bench and bring him when needed, because that's how it should be done with the age he has and the fact that it is Premier League. know that nobody is going to read this comment but after hearing my guy Margz chat hella shit that has nothing to do with our club's current situation. Lemme start by just stating the obvious Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must go and I will not kick and scream to get him out because he's done a lot of things for my football club since he came in as interim in 2018. We got rid of all the bad eggs and the recruitment has improved significantly since he came in. However, this is the third time his job has been in danger and the first time the players just never pulled it out of the bag like the two times before.
The first time was in the 2019/2020 season and the target for the year was to just get back into the Top 4. In December, when we had come back from the final international break. The fixture list was Sheffield United (A), Aston Villa (H), Spurs (H), City (A). The remit by fans were if we failed to get 8 points from those 4 games, then he had to be sacked! We drew 3-3 to Sheffield United and 2-2 to Aston Villa and we as fans and the club feared the worst especially with the next two games coming up, even before the Spurs game the owners were speaking to Pochetino about coming in. What did Ole do though, he went and beat Spurs and Man City 2-1 thus keeping him there for the season especially with eventually getting Bruno in January and finishing third on the last day of the season.
The second time was in the 2020/2021 season and the target for the year was to finish so comfortably in the Top 4 that us fans and the team didn't have to worry about it and also close the gap between us and first which was 33 points to Liverpool's title winning team of the year before. However by the 1st of November, we were 15th after losing 0-1 at home to Arsenal, then got lost 2-1 away to Ä°stanbul BaĆakĆehir F.K. in the Champions League , which by the way costed us as we didn't even get out the group. Next, we had inform Everton away and even right before the game, Pochetino was again being spoken too and the remit was lose that game and Ole would have to go! What did he do again, he beat Everton 3-1 which started a run that would help us climb up to a "Title Race" by January that we should've had no right to be in. Ole then cracked under the pressure of the expectation to win games and keep up with the "Title Race." That for me is why he is struggling this season is because the squad that we currently have and built by him gives no more excuses to drop any more silly points here and there because we are good enough now to be in a title race! Perfect example was in the Europa League final when Villarreal were the underdogs and we the superior team were expected to win it. He cracked under that pressure and that alone shows me why he isn't good enough to take us any forward anymore.
This season based on the current squad that we have, we should at the very minimum challenge for all trophies possible. I have this arrogance because I am a Manchester United fan at the end of the day and when you spend the money we do on players and the wages that they earn, at the very minimum as a supporter, I should expect a challenge for all trophies possible I'm not saying that we deserve every trophy possible as their is no GOD given right to win anything but, at the bare minimum I expect a challenge. The fact that out of all of our title rivals, we have had the easiest run of fixtures on paper, we should be 2-5 points clear of everyone else in the league so that when we do play the likes of a Liverpool we can afford to take a draw because we have created a gap earlier by beating all of the favorable teams. Ole has gotten 14 points out of a possible 27 from only playing Leeds (H), Southampton (A), Wolves (A), Newcastle (H), West Ham (A), Aston Villa (H), Everton (H), Leicester (A) and Liverpool (H). By the way Liverpool is the only team of REAL QUALITY that we have played this season as even our Champions League group on paper is very easy with Young Boys, Atalanta and Villarreal. Not to mention, we got raped 0-5 at home by Liverpool. This right now is the perfect time to just get rid of Ole but the owners of Manchester United don't want to do it because he is at his dream job so he will do whatever they say to keep him at his dream job. The Glazers are the reason why United are this bad, Ole is a product of their bad decision making. Him being the manager for this long is why the owners are just terrible.
Conte is the most rumored manager to get the job and I just highly disagree with him coming in. Now don't get me wrong he is a WORLD CLASS MANAGER but his style of play doesn't suit the current squad we have and will need another overhaul for us to be competitive again. This alone shows why the Glazers are the ultimate issue at Manchester United, because they went in one direction with choosing and trusting Ole's philosophy, style of play and transfer selections, but now if they go for Conte then it will be a completely new direction, philosophy, style of play and transfer selection. For example, when United had LVG, he played a style very similar to Tuchel's right now which is 3 at the back progressive attacking football. However, it wasn't good enough and he got sacked, so what a well run club should do is hire a manager with the same philosophy but better in terms of tactical ways to executing it consistently on the pitch. However, they decided to go in a completely new direction by hiring Jose Mouirnho who plays his own negative style of football which would then require him to overhaul the current squad he would've come into because many players from Van Gaal's reign only suit his playing style and not Jose's, thus requiring hella transfers and having to start all over again with this rebuilding thing. That's what I think is going to happen if United go from Ole to Conte because we have zero wing backs, not enough center backs, a lot of attacking midfielders and a bunch of wingers. Imagine having Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial at wing back or Bruno, Pogba and/or Van Der Beek on the bench because their aren't enough midfield positions to play. Conte would want to bring his players in and get rid of a bunch of other players that were signed by Ole out as they just don't suit how he wants to play and what sucks is that the board paid a lot of money for that player.
United should be looking for a manager that suits the team we have, the same philosophy as Ole but, the difference is have a better way getting it out more from the players on a much more consistent basis. I recommend these 5 and I order them from my most favorite to least 1. ZIDANE, 2. Erik Ten Haag (Ajax Manager), 3. Brenden Rodgers, 4. Marucio Pocehtino, 5. Graham Potter. I want Zidane the most because, he has won 4 Champions Leagues with Real Madrid, one as an Assistant Coach in the 2013/14 season and the three peat plus, 2 La Liga titles and he has worked with the likes of Ronaldo and Varane already! He has always dreamed of working with Paul Pogba and for our fringe players especially Martial who is also French like Zidane, maybe having him as the coach can motivate him because I mean itâs Zinedine Zidane who is a legend in the game and is also considered a GOD to the people of France. So if Zidane canât get Martial playing again no one can.
That's it from me hopefully at least one person reads it.
